Chapter 42: escaping from the snake head of chimera
The absorbed smell would become a space orb. The beast has more than one head and it can quickly tell that something is burning with the smell and become alert. So he made this preparation to cover those situations that can alert the beast.
Well even with all the preparations if it was still awakened from it sleep then it can only be said to be the horror film jinx. Dobby moved slowly without making much sound towards the beast. There is only a small opening on the side to walk as the beast occupied most of the place.
The beast is very big and Dobby might not even be able to fit between its teeth. Well it is not as big as the giant squid outside. Dobby walked step by step and when he reached the side of the beast he was very careful.
The pace is very slow and he crossed the beast and reached the other end of the great hall. There are magic swords and armor placed on a table. The material of the table seems special and it has magic circles on it.
It produced a protective shield on the items placed on it. This way they are not corroded by the long exposure of the poison in the air. Dobby also saw a map that was placed at one corner and he was happy for a moment. But he looked at the beast few times from the corner of his eye.
He cannot look at it straight because the beasts are very sensitive to gaze from others. It would react to Dobby quickly and it would awaken immediately. That would be disastrous to Dobby and Dobby doesn't want that to happen.
Dobby did not touch the protective shield but tried to place the entire table as it was into his magical space pouch. This way he would not make any sound. If the shielding bubble on the items is touched it might release an alarm to alert the beast.
So he thought of this way. But he doesn't know if he can put the things into the space directly after all there are magic circles and there might be restrictions on it as well. He cannot be sure of anything so he was prepared for the worst.
He already put on an acceleration spell on him that would activate as long as he wanted to activate it. With the spell he can move faster and escape. If things cannot be solved he can only fight the beast head on.
With that in place he was less worried. He moved the table slowly after using lubrication oil under its legs. He did not use a single spell after entering the great hall. All the spells he used are started outside.
Use of magic can be cyclic so it would not cause many fluctuations. But if he activates a spell it would definitely cause magic fluctuations. The beast like chimera is very sensitive to magic fluctuations. So he did not plan on using magic for lubricating spell.
Instead he used the lubrication oil without smell. Yes he prepared a smell less lubrication oil for this occasion. He succeeded in moving the table and slowly put it in his magical space pouch. Right when he wanted to leave there is a small sound.

One of the leaves under his feet got its reed crushed. Dobby did not expect that the leaf under his feet would change its nature after being constantly regenerated with vitality. He originally chose soft and durable leaves for both comfort and also for noiseless situation.
But after they got into contact with the acidic poison they slowly got damage and with vitality they regenerated. This endless process has made them change their nature to resist poison this formed a strange layer on them that is resistant to poison.
At the same time their softness is gone and it was switched with brittleness that can be crushed easily. This is what happening right now. Dobby did not panic and quickly moved to the side. He is still wearing invisibility cloak.
There is special oil rubbed on his body that would block his scent. So even if the beast knows that there is someone here it cannot find that person. After moving to the side quickly he looked at the beast.
The beast looked still sleeping but Dobby can sense the small changes from the snake that is awaken and looking with its slit eyes. The ram head is also like that and it is looking around carefully.
The heads has independent thinking and they are not in united state. After all some of them are natural enemies. So they would not listen to each other. When fighting madness would consume them and they would make things in united way.
But if they are in confusion Dobby has a way to quickly escape. Any way he got what he wanted and he decided to leave. First he mended the leaf at his feet properly. Then he stepped few time to check if it is still making any sound.
Only after confirming that it is not making a sound he quickly moved towards the beast to cross over it and leave. When he got close he has to move from behind the beast where its tail that is the snake is guarding carefully. Dobby did not dare to make a mistake.
If he did then the snake can easily swallow him with a single bite. Dobby doesn't want to be the food of this beast. He successfully crossed over the beast and moved carefully towards the exit of the great hall. Right then the leaf on his other leg got crushed and a sound appeared.
"Trrrrickkkk..."
"Sui….."
Dobby noticed a sound behind him. It is the snake head that directly rushed towards him wanting to swallow him immediately. The snakes did not have ears to listen but they sensory receptors are really strong.
