Chapter 40: magic coding is like computer coding, upgraded marauder's map
He actually brought over the marauder's map. This map is for the castle of Hogwarts. But here it can work in a different way. That is the mirror mapping. Also this map was upgraded by Dobby.
He wanted to find some items at Hogwarts instead of people. So he upgraded it in his free time. Now it is useful for him to map the castle of Merlin. Since both castles are the same, with him activating it with mirroring spell it has directly got connected to the location.
When they are connected Dobby got the information of the Merlin's castle. As for why he did not use it before is because the castle of Merlin has a restriction with a powerful object that is the wand of Merlin with lightning core.
If she tried to connect the search it would retaliate and the map would burn to crisp. But now the situation is different. The wand is in his hands and the wand will obey him. Before, it is no different than something wild that would attack indiscriminately.

No one would care about house elves. Even if they found that the items of the elves are missing they did not care because they look down on house elves compared to the goblins and other races.
