POV: Council Elder Kane
I dropped my coffee cup when Alpha Morrison slammed his hand on the table and roared at Marcus.
"You cannot challenge the Wolf Council's authority! We have governed pack law for centuries!"
Coffee splattered across my notes as chaos erupted in the meeting hall. Marcus stood his ground while Morrison's face turned red with anger. The other council members looked between them in shock.
"I am the Alpha of Pine Ridge," Marcus said calmly. "What happens in my territory is my decision."
"Not when it affects all werewolf society!" Morrison shot back. "This tri-bond nonsense could spread to other packs!"
As the youngest member of the Wolf Council, I'd seen plenty of heated debates, but nothing like this. Pack Alphas rarely challenged the council directly.
"Gentlemen, please!" Elder Matthews called out, her voice cutting through the argument. "Let's discuss this properly."
Everyone slowly took their seats, though Morrison continued glaring at Marcus.
