POV: Cade
I dropped my suitcase and dove to catch the lamp before it hit the floor when Hunter came barreling into my legs.
"Daddy Cade! You're staying forever now!" he yelled, wrapping his small arms around my waist.
"That's right, buddy," I said, steadying myself against the wall. "Daddy's not going anywhere."
Hope came running from the kitchen, her face bright with excitement. "Mama said you live here now! With us and Daddy Ash!"
Behind her, Ash appeared in the doorway carrying a cup of coffee. His face was careful and neutral, but I could see the tension in his shoulders.
"Where should I put my stuff?" I asked awkwardly.
"Guest room for now," Ember called from upstairs. "We'll figure out the rest later."
The guest room. Right next to the master bedroom where Ash had been sleeping with Ember for the past year. This was going to be harder than I thought.
"Can we show Daddy Cade our fort?" Hope asked Ash.
"Of course. Go ahead."
