Lucas arrived at the Ashford Mansion just as the morning sun shone through the ivy covering the stone walls. He saw Elena and Mila waiting by the door, both smiling as he approached.
Mila wore her soft blue dress with little white daisies along the hem and her hair was tied in two tidy braids. She held Elena's hand tightly, excitement shining on her face. Elena, standing beside her, wore a simple cream dress with a light blue cardigan over her shoulders. Her dark hair was pulled back in a loose braid, and she carried a small white purse.
Mila looked up at her father, her eyes wide with pride. "Papa, look! Don't I look as beautiful as Elena aunty?" she asked, squeezing Lucas's hand.
Lucas knelt down and hugged Mila, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "You look very beautiful today, darling," he said warmly.
