Elena's heels made soft sounds on the shiny marble floor as she walked back into Ashford Mansion. The house felt calm and peaceful. The only noises were birds singing outside and the faint sounds of the housekeeper working in the kitchen, maybe getting breakfast ready. Elena stopped for a moment at the bottom of the staircase and let out a slow breath. Earlier, she'd felt a bit nervous, but now she was more relaxed and even a little excited. She wanted to make sure that the little one had a happy day, full of smiles and fun.
