Chapter 17 - Chapter 16 - The Prince Bastard and the Trickster (I)

"That petty goddess." Godwyn complained loudly, he was around a bonfire while fiercely eating a piece of meat. Artemis was a feminist of the highest standard, immortal, powerful, and a princess.

Just remembering Artemis's smug face, calling him a boy, Godwyn's face darkened in an instant. Suddenly, he showed an evil smile and started laughing almost like a villain plotting against the protagonist.

When I create my pantheon, I'll ask you to marry me!

Would Zeus refuse? Maybe yes, maybe no. It all came down to how many benefits Godwyn provided, but even if Zeus refused, just imagining Artemis's enraged expression made Godwyn's mood better!

However, even if Zeus agreed to the wedding, he would change his mind just to annoy the crazy feminist.

He would make that feminist dwarf goddess regret calling him a boy. Godwyn was someone who held grudges for years, just waiting for the chance to finally repay the grudge.

Being a good person didn't mean being helpless in the face of certain people. Godwyn respected others, but if they didn't respect him, they would see a darker version of his sunny personality.

"Godwyn, you're laughing like a villain." Annabeth said with a pleasant and amused laugh, Godwyn's expression was truly funny in her eyes.

Godwyn's smile stiffened at Annabeth's words, the others who were watching everything, started laughing too. Letting out a fake cough, Godwyn looked at Annabeth helplessly and quickly changed the subject.

"We're getting closer and closer to the Camp, but that also means the situation is getting more and more dangerous." He said with a solemn tone, making the cheerful atmosphere tense in an instant.

Yes, the closer to Camp Half-Blood, the more dangerous it would be. The Lord of the Underworld certainly wouldn't give up and would send true hordes of monsters to take his niece's life. Hades had to make Zeus suffer the same pain he suffered when he lost the woman he loved.

Godwyn knew that although Zeus usually seemed indifferent to everything and everyone, he truly loved his sons and daughters. Especially his mortal children, whom he deeply cherished to the point of fighting with his own wife to defend them. The Lord of the Underworld knew this and attacked Zeus's daughter without any hesitation.

"We can steal a car and get to Long Island, but we need to enter the city." Luke said with a solemn tone. He could steal a car without much difficulty. Being the son of the God of Thieves had great benefits in this trade.

However, their team was already suffering constant fights outside the city, much less inside the city, where they could fight monsters in narrow, enclosed places and even on the street, where many cars could hinder things even more. Not to mention the police, who hinder things even more.

Godwyn thought for a moment and looked at Thalia. "You decide, but I still advise going outside the city. It might take longer, however, it's slightly safer." He advised with a calm tone, knowing that if they entered the city, things would get complicated. Especially with Hades' monsters ready to devour them at the slightest moment of weakness.

Thalia felt enormous pressure on her shoulders, but if there was something good about Zeus, the girl had inherited it. Determination, power, and decisiveness.

"Although it's safer, it will take longer, which could give even more monsters a chance to approach." Thalia said, her eyes glowing with lightning. "Let's go through the city, steal a car, and speed as much as possible towards Long Island."

Luke and Annabeth and Grover nodded, and so did Godwyn. What he had said was just a suggestion, and it wasn't flawless, so he remained silent and accepted Thalia's proposal.

"Mimir, can you open a rift between worlds if necessary?" Godwyn asked in a calm tone, making everyone's eyes turn to the head on Godwyn's belt.

"I cannot open rifts between worlds in the Greek Pantheon." Mimir replied with a tone of regret. If it were so easy to enter a foreign pantheon, divine wars would be even more frequent.

"Rift Between Worlds?" Annabeth, who was the most curious of all, asked with bright eyes.

"The Norse World is divided into Nine Worlds, think of these nine worlds as layers superimposed one above the other, between these layers there is a space that connects all Nine Worlds." Godwyn explained with a smile, seeing everyone's curiosity.

Godwyn was not surprised by their curiosity, after all, it was a different pantheon. They only didn't ask before because they were fighting monsters, stressed and exhausted from the various battles that happened during this journey.

Even little Annabeth, who would have asked a thousand questions, usually fell asleep as soon as her head touched the ground or the pillow.

"I want to see other worlds." Annabeth whispered to herself with a look full of curiosity.

Godwyn rolled his eyes hearing the girl's words, he said with an amused tone. "There's already a lot of chaos in the Greek Pantheon, now imagine the chaos between the Nine Worlds? Everyone battling each other, everyone trying to subjugate the other."

"Godwyn is right, children." Mimir agreed with Godwyn's words, as a former ambassador of the Aesir, he knew how chaotic the Nine Worlds were. Nine civilizations in an eternal war until Ragnarok happens. "Hundreds of thousands of mortals are killed every year in this endless war."

Of course, as a former ambassador of the Aesir, Mimir knew that this world scenario was caused by Odin. After all, how could a king remain calm while his vassals gradually grow stronger? Therefore, Odin had the policy of killing certain gods and causing intrigues among the Nine Worlds.

The title of Greatest Conspirator of All Time was not given out of whims by the All-Father's enemies, Odin was truly a conspiratorial bastard of the highest degree.

"If one day you reach the Nine Worlds, don't talk to strangers and definitely stay away from battlefields." Godwyn said with a serious tone. With his existence, who knows what would happen in the future? So, he warned of the dangers of the Norse Pantheon, one of the most chaotic Pantheons in the Cosmos.

Everyone seemed to accept Godwyn's words seriously, especially Annabeth. She discovered that ever since she ran away from home, the world was much more dangerous than she expected. However, it seemed that Godwyn's world was even more dangerous.

The Daughter of Athena looked at Godwyn with a little pity. In her eyes, her life was already sad and she couldn't imagine how much Godwyn suffered to live in such a chaotic and war-torn world.

Noticing the girl's gaze, Godwyn was speechless. It seemed that Annabeth had some misunderstanding regarding his upbringing. Although his childhood was not healthy in people's eyes because of his training, he was really good at making friends.

Furthermore, although Odin was cold and cruel, Odin's wife, Frigg, the Goddess of Family and Marriage, was the sweetest goddess in the universe, she raised Godwyn as if he were truly her flesh and blood.

If there was anyone he recognized as family, it was Frigg, the woman who breastfed him and educated him, taught him, sewed his clothes, cleaned his wounds, and loved him like a true mother.

"Come on, we can't stay still for too long." Seeing that everyone had finished eating, Thalia said in a serious tone. She knew that once they entered the city, they would be in constant danger.

Everyone helped erase their tracks and headed for the nearest city.

Washington D.C.

Godwyn looked at the city cautiously. People and more people came and went with calm and indifferent expressions. The city was definitely not as inviting as it seemed, despite having many tourist attractions.

Suddenly, next to an alley, Godwyn's golden eyes focused on the beggar leaning against the wall. He felt the beggar look at him. It was just a short, almost invisible glance, but he still felt the gaze on him. It was not the gaze of a mortal.

Looking at the man, he was a normal beggar, worn clothes and somewhat foul-smelling. He wore a beanie on his head while a face with sunken cheeks and deep eyes looked visibly pale and haggard. Godwyn's focus was not on the beggar's face, but on his eyes. An extremely beautiful, deep, and calm shade of green. It was the beggar's eyes that caught his attention.

Despite being in an extremely bad situation, the beggar's eyes were too calm, which he tried to hide, but failed miserably. Someone homeless would never have a look like his, a false discouragement and sadness.

Looking at those green eyes, Godwyn's steps stopped, he approached the beggar under the surprised eyes of everyone on the team.

"What happened, Golden Boy?" Thalia asked in a tense tone, as if ready to battle at any moment.

Godwyn didn't answer and stood in front of the beggar, who seemed visibly scared by his approach. He directly ignored the beggar's appearance and just looked into his eyes, with a suspicious and skeptical gaze.

There was something incredibly familiar about the beggar. However, no matter how much Godwyn thought, he really didn't see any familiarity in the beggar, but that only made him more suspicious. He had an excellent memory and would hardly forget anyone.

Then, under the shocked eyes of Thalia, Luke, Annabeth, and Grover, Godwyn simply invoked the golden spear and pierced the beggar's heart!

However, something even more shocking appeared, the spear passed through the beggar's body, but it didn't hurt him!

Godwyn narrowed his eyes and smiled, showing his impeccably white teeth. Some might think it was normal, after all, divine weapons couldn't hurt mortals, but the feeling of familiarity within him only intensified.

Looking at the beggar's frightened expression, Godwyn smiled even more brightly. "You can see my spear." He said with a sarcastic tone, mortals couldn't see anything divine, not even weapons. The only exceptions were some people, but these people were rare.

Furthermore, when Godwyn pierced his spear into the beggar's body, he felt it was not a body of flesh and blood, but an astral projection.

"It's been a while, you treacherous and lying bastard." Recovering the spear, Godwyn crossed his arms and spoke with a sarcastic tone while watching the beggar's expression change from fear to boredom.

"You really look like your father, as intelligent as him, probably even more cunning." The beggar said with a cynical and especially provocative smile.

Godwyn said, revealing the beggar's true identity.

"And you're still so treacherous, Loki."

"It's my nature." Loki replied with a smile, showing his yellowish and somewhat rotten teeth.
