Chapter 20 - Chapter 19 - Dangerous Car Racing (II)

"This car isn't going to fly like in the Harry Potter movie, is it?" Annabeth asked with a pale face. Seeing Godwyn swerve cars at such high speed was a great stress on her mind.

"Don't worry, we won't hit any spider-filled trees." Godwyn looked at Annabeth through the rearview mirror and said with an amused tone as he abruptly swerved a car. The abrupt change of side made the passengers lean to the left.

A look of fear appeared on Annabeth's face at the mention of spiders. Like Ron, she also had a great fear of spiders. The memory of her childhood came back to her mind, making her tremble softly.

Luke noticed this and stroked Annabeth's head, knowing that the girl had a huge fear of spiders.

Godwyn also noticed this and realized he had said the wrong thing. The girl was afraid of spiders, which was quite tragic. Of course, it was all a malicious conspiracy by Arachne against Athena. After all, Athena herself cursed the mortal woman to become an extremely hideous spider-woman.

Annabeth didn't know, but she had been a victim of her mother's actions in the past. Like Arachne, the woman who was cursed after winning against Athena in a weaving competition, she couldn't kill a goddess, so she took revenge on Athena's mortal descendants.

However, Godwyn understood why Annabeth was traumatized by spiders. Just thinking about being submerged in a sea of spiders every day sent shivers down his body. Any adult would be traumatized by such an experience, much less a small child like Annabeth.

Godwyn showed a cold expression, Arachne was on his kill list. He already considered Annabeth as part of his extremely small family and anyone who dared to touch his family would suffer, regardless of whether it was a monster, god, or even a God King.

Annabeth calmed down with Luke's help and looked out the window with a calmer look than before, no longer caring about the extremely fast speed at which the Mustang swerved past cars on the track. She even started to like the feeling of speed.

"Godwyn, Mimir said you were being chased by the Thunder God, is he the same thunder god from Marvel?" Thalia asked, her question caught everyone's attention, including Annabeth who was having fun watching the surrounding cars being quickly overtaken.

"He's my half-brother, but if you're wondering if he looks like Chris Hemsworth, you're wrong." Godwyn had been expecting this question for a long time, especially with the great popularity of Marvel's Thor, he was one of the most beloved characters in pop culture today, along with Tony Stark and Peter Parker.

"He's tall, very tall, fat, with red hair and tattoos, always holding his stupid hammer everywhere." Godwyn described Thor and made everyone disappointed with Thor's appearance. After all, the actor was handsome and muscular, it was impossible not to make an association between them.

"You don't seem to like him." Thalia asked, noticing a slight animosity in Godwyn's voice. Which was rare to see, as she felt that Godwyn was someone easy to get along with and easily liked by everyone.

"He's just a weapon with repressed emotions, a slave to the All-Father's manipulations." Godwyn said with a slightly cold tone. The six months fleeing through all the Nine Worlds reappeared in his mind. He came to hate Thor, who didn't care about his own family and just took orders from Odin.

Looking in the rearview mirror, Godwyn warned with a solemn tone. "He's not the charismatic and gentle Thunder God you know from the movies, he's a monster who commits mass genocides without a shred of remorse. A true killer who would send shivers down Cain's own spine."

With Godwyn's words, everyone's impression of Thor was shattered into a thousand pieces. They couldn't believe that Thor, whom they thought they knew, could be such a hideous and murderous monster.

"Godwyn is right, children." Mimir said with a tone full of regret. "The Thunder God is a monster who only follows orders without hesitation, a perfect soldier and also the sharpest spear the All-Father possesses to intimidate all the Nine Worlds."

In Mimir's eyes, Thor was brainwashed from a young age, raised as a warrior by Odin to never rebel or even try to disobey the All-Father. The poor boy didn't even have a childhood in Odin's hands.

In this sense, Thor's and Godwyn's life experiences were similar. But unlike Thor, who accepted being a monster, Godwyn refused to be a weapon for Odin and cause billions of deaths to prevent Ragnarok.

This only made Mimir admire Godwyn even more, he could count on his nonexistent fingers how many beings could escape the All-Father's conspiracies. In Mimir's eyes, Godwyn not becoming a warrior like Thor was perhaps Odin's biggest failure in the last ten thousand years.

The atmosphere became heavy with Mimir's and Godwyn's words, everyone understood what Thor and Odin were like, two monsters of the highest caliber.

Godwyn sighed, seeing their silence. Like Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth, he also had high expectations for Thor, but as they say, never meet your idol, often you can be disappointed.

"Let's not continue this topic, we have to get to Long Island quickly." Godwyn said with a smile, dissipating the heavy atmosphere in the air. He didn't want the mood to be spoiled by Thor and Odin, big filthy bastards.

Thalia agreed and spoke with a tense tone. "It's about a five-hour drive, but we know it won't be that fast because of traffic and…."

Everyone understood the implications in Thalia's unfinished words, they would be brutally attacked before reaching Long Island. This was something that even Annabeth had no doubt about, they would be attacked, it was a certainty!

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, Godwyn glimpsed a fast and furious bronze figure running between the cars.

"We're being attacked!" Godwyn said as he shifted gears and accelerated even more. However, looking in the rearview mirror, he saw that the monstrous bronze figure was still approaching!!!

Luke looked back and saw a huge mechanical bull chasing them, his face paled knowing it was the Bull of Colchis. Monstrous bulls made of bronze and other materials for King Aeëtes of Colchis!

The hero demigod Jason had to tame one of these bulls in one of his heroic acts.

"It's the Bull of Colchis, they have almost no weak points." Luke said with an incredibly solemn tone. These artificial monsters made of metal were the most problematic, as swords and other weapons could hardly penetrate the enchanted bronze.

Hephestus was not one of the best blacksmiths in the cosmos for nothing, the Greek God was famous even in other Pantheons. After all, not all divine blacksmiths could make weapons of the King of Gods level, such weapons were extremely rare and powerful!

"It's catching up to us." Grover said as he held on tightly.

"Guys, I have terrible news." Suddenly, Godwyn spoke with a tone full of helplessness. He didn't wait for their answer and directly told them the terrible news. "I just saw it, but the gas will only last another half hour."

When everyone heard Godwyn's words, they fell silent. Not only did they have an almost indestructible bull behind them, but they also had little gas. It can be said that they were in a somewhat awkward situation.

"Besides me, does anyone know how to drive?" Godwyn asked and was answered the next second, but the one who answered was none other than Annabeth.

"I do!" The girl said, making everyone's eyes widen in surprise at the revelation. Showing an embarrassed expression, she said with a mischievous tone. "I used to watch my stepmother drive every time she dropped me and my siblings off at school."

"Come to the driver's seat." Godwyn didn't hesitate and spoke with a firm tone, he had to destroy the Bronze Bull or they would be chased or even forced to fight in the middle of the road.

Annabeth showed a determination worthy of a demigoddess, she unbuckled her seatbelt and quickly crossed the car to the driver's seat. Godwyn moved away enough for her to sit and put half of his body out the car window.

Godwyn drew runes in the air with his finger and the world seemed to respond to his wishes. A bow made of pure red electricity appeared in his hands. He pulled the electricity line of the bow in a crescent shape. An arrow manifested in the bow, at the exact spot where Godwyn pulled the bowstring.

Because of the high speed, Godwyn's hair fluttered violently behind him, the impact of the air against his face made him squint, narrowing his vision, but this helped him focus on the huge figure of the Bronze Bull.

When Godwyn was about to shoot the arrow, Annabeth swerved to avoid a car, making Godwyn lose his balance and almost fall out of the car, but he used his legs to hold himself in place and didn't fall.

"Sorry!!!" Annabeth shouted, turning the steering wheel, swerving to avoid another car. Which made Godwyn lose his balance once again. But this time, he accidentally shot the arrow.

The arrow was like lightning, crossing the air at dizzying speed and hitting the ground next to the Bronze Bull.

A hole the size of a soccer ball appeared on the asphalt road, which gradually melted with the terrible heat of the electricity arrow!
