So, after the test of Orion's bodily changes, Orion went to the captives and tried the new song. He watched as his sword was covered in the flames of truth. He cut the first shadow possessed and watched as the sword passed through the human body and the shadow was killed. Orion gathered the army and taught them the new song of truth. He asked to have someone with a regular sword and someone with a living sword join him on stage. He sings the new song of truth and cuts thru the possessed and had the one with a regular sword attack him and his sword blocked the sword but would not cut the person as long as they were not possessed it did nothing to them.
The other one with the living sword Orion had him sing the new song of truth and also cut a possessed and his sword went thru the body and killed the shadow. The bodies needed someone to sing the song of returning souls to come back to life. A week later Orion followed Topaz to her lair in the mountains. Orion was so happy he stayed in his dragon form in her lair as she showed him around in her dragon form. Topaz explained it would be good for him to greet them as a dragon and not as a sword mage with a sword in hand.
So, three days later the first dragon showed up. It was a green dragon and when he saw two sapphire dragons, he said I thought all the rest of the sapphire dragons died or are eggs in storage. Topaz looks at him and says he is a sword mage and he is willing to train us dragons how to fight like the order so we can all protect ourselves. As soon as we get more of us to show up, he will take the time to train us and give us a chance to fight the shadows with him.
Two days later three more dragons show up, two blues and a yellow. This kept up for two weeks then Orion said I will start training those that are here. He then says if you all will take your dragoon form and I will show you the forms and go from there and he does like he did before. Once again in the evenings he would have them go through the forms together like a dance and so goes the training and slowly over the next couple of weeks their numbers increased till Topaz said this is everyone.
And they were sparring with wooden swords. As they were sparring the dragons showed how they used their wings in battle as shields and Orion learned how to use his wings as an extension of his body. Orion also learned to use his tail in combat to trip his enemies and attack while doing aerial kicks. His tail could also be used to balance his body. He was learning all kinds of ways to use his wings and tail in an actual fight. He was surprised that they had become so useful.
He and the dragons had fun all the way till the end. He taught them the ways of the sword and they taught him the ways of the dragons. By the time they were done with the training the rats and the generals delivered the living swords and they all were in Topaz's cave and they sang the real song of truth and the rats' swords were literally on fire and the dragons got quite a show as they went through the dance together. Then the dragons all swore the oath and faced off against each other and the rats.
The rats learned new maneuvers and the dragons' learned things that the forms alone can't teach. This helped everyone learn. After this Orion said this is the beginning of a war that needs us to save our world. I am so proud of both the dragons and the rats. You both have different abilities that will help us to win. The dragons give us aerial combat power and the rats give us shadow power, but there are other people who need to know the truth.
Others will join our army and others will become our allies. I had planned on going to the human town of Dilmah, after finding out that all the humans are long possessed. I now know that we have to take the town over. I have a plan and we have the numbers and a way to take it back from the shadows and leave some to teach the song of truth and teach new sword mages. As it is with us taking the lord of Dilmath and already removing the shadows from them as soon as we get rid of all the shadows in town and sing back the town folks' souls, we can have the town back to normal fast.
But before we take over the humans, we need to visit the were village and the elves in the forest. We have given hope everywhere we have gone and hope is another sword that harms the shadows. For they have numbers that we don't have so we have to take them out and get more as we go and visit the other races that the shadows find hard to possess and control. Those the shadows can't possess are the best helpers to fight alongside and fully trust.
Those they can't bend will become the ones we can trust completely and any who come back from a mission must go thru a test to make sure they are not shadow possessed. It is a long hard road we travel but it's a road that needs to be taken for us all to survive for the fall of one is the fall of us all. After this long speech all the sword mages came together and would talk to each other. The orcs and cat folk and even Sherly all socialized.
Sherly noticed Topaz hanging on to Orion like he was hers. For some reason Sherly didn't like this so she walked up to her and asked why she was hanging on to him like he belonged to her? Topaz responded because I plan to mate with him. You know that he is a sapphire dragon like me, right? Sherly stood there stunned and replied no I did not know that but I was his first so don't you think you should have asked him if he had a partner? Orion says ladies now is not the time to fight we have new recruits and we need a solid front.
