After many rounds it was discovered the ones with the biggest grudge were the were‑wolves, who even had their pack alphas beaten while using a weapon and the rat using hand‑to‑hand. By the end of the day one of the were leaders asked have we reconciled with you enough to get a chance out of this. That's when Orion took the dragon form and said, I am going to breathe the fires of truth on everyone here to make sure there are none among you who are shadow possessed and after that I will ask if the parties who fought my men have learned their lesson and if they have then all will be fine but if they lie while in the flames they will die I will not leave an evil at my back.
The leaders were shocked. The leader of the sword mages was a full‑grown dragon, and the flames of truth won't hurt you unless you are a shadow or lie. They were scared for the villagers but understood the issues. The wolf alpha said so be it. I know I have learned the value of the rats and am ashamed of my own bias. With that both Orion and Topaz covered everyone in the flames of truth and the other sword mages asked out loud do you all agree to no longer judge other living beings in a racist manner? Everyone just says yes and five people turned to ash.
The apprentices ask do you promise not to spread lies and only speak the truth to all? Everyone once again said yes and three more turned to ash. The villagers looked at the ones who burnt up and realized that they were liars that a lot of them believed. The flames died and Orion said you are now free of those who can't help but lie and poison everyone around them with deceit. If you think anyone is lying, ask us to help determine the truth. We don't kill the innocent or those who don't have evil in their hearts, we also don't lie or cheat, and we don't discriminate because that builds walls that can't be fixed.
And tomorrow we will accept those who wish to train from the were village and they will be lucky enough to be trained by the rats both in hand‑to‑hand and in swords and in magic. The next morning there were fifty different were people who ranged from wolf to tiger, there was even a were‑rabbit, and the rats stepped forward and started to train them and it was as it was supposed to be. The rats took on apprentices and the ways of the sword mages were passed on once again. Swords were made and three weeks later there was another mass.
In this time Orion, Sherly, Night, and Topaz met with the town's leaders and the elders. They discussed how some of the sword mages needed to stay and guard the town and how they would need to set up opportunities for all of them to rotate their schedule so they all got some practice and experience dealing with the deep possessed shadows. They talked about all the evils that can't be allowed to fester, how when they were people were full sword mages when singing the song of truth, they can't cut an actual person unless they are shadow possessed or lying.
This will stop a lot of problems and can be used to settle disputes because it is the dragon flames of truth that are active. After discussing this Orion asked where in town can I make a base for our people to stay in when they are training and when they are traveling? Do you have any were‑dwarfs like the rats had, if you do then we can house them in the sword mage hall? A were‑tiger said I have an old building it's not much but it has some space. Orion says that will work.
So, the next thing is supplies and distribution, what supplies can the city send us once we start taking towns. We will need trustworthy people to take control and help send supplies of food and grains for an army on the move. We will need people to act as messengers and runners to keep everyone informed, we will need ways to move in ways so they can't tell where we will go next or even that we are attacking till they are overwhelmed. So, I will need scouts and others who can tell me where they are weak and where they are in a panic.
Anything we can use to end this with the fewest casualties and where we can gain the most support. Hopefully after we leave you, we will see the elves and if they are not taken over or too downtrodden to fight then hopefully, they will help as well. So, I will hopefully leave here with this being a base and stop for the sword mages. The council knew he had a plan. They knew he was right to be mad earlier and had people not acted like they did the town would not be facing such anger.
They showed him the building they were giving to the order and he put his hands on it and started to sing. At first it looked like all the broken spaces and pieces started to fly up and repair the building but then slowly the building turned to a gemlike substance, it looked like it was sapphire. This building shone with magic and light. At first it looked like a regular building but now it filled the land it was on and the architecture looked like it was a Japanese castle.
Once inside there was an area for a forge and there was a practice area and training grounds. There were two bath areas clearly marked male and female, and there were bedrooms with a bed in each. There was a room to butcher beasts brought in to the guild, there was a kitchen for meals and there was an area out front that had a wishing fountain that people could throw money in and make a wish. There was a desk just inside and a board in the dining area that had places where townsfolk can ask for things to be done and the sword mages can take the jobs for money.
This funds the guild and gives the sword mages experience. This is all about helping them train and learn to treat others with respect. He gave the girls gold and said go through the market and stock the kitchen with food.
