In the classroom, Jimmy introduced himself with a serious expression.
"Hello everyone, my name is Jimmy. I'm an exchange student from the Celestial Empire!"
Many students who had seen Jimmy earlier outside the teaching building applauded warmly.
"Jimmy, you can sit next to Miss Karen," the middle-aged teacher said, pointing to the last seat in the third row.
Jimmy nodded. It was a great spot—Peter sat nearby. Once Jimmy took his seat, he realized that beside him was a girl in a purple jacket and glasses, deeply focused on her notebook. (If you haven't seen her, Google Hannah Maxx.)
"Hi! I'm Jimmy," he said with a smile, reaching out his hand.
"Hi, I'm Karen," the girl replied shyly.
After shaking hands, Jimmy smiled and said, "Heh, you're very pretty."
Hearing that, Karen blushed. "You're… quite handsome too…"
Jimmy started to feel a bit smug. He turned and glanced at Peter, who was chatting with Gwen, and smiled to himself. Then he turned back to Karen and began asking her questions—like whether she had any plans for the evening...
By evening, Jimmy had already said goodbye to the classmates he had just met.
"Hey, Peter! Mind if I come hang out with you tomorrow?" Jimmy asked with a grin.
"Oh!" Peter nodded without hesitation. He looked pretty happy—seemed like he'd had a nice chat with his goddess.
After bidding Karen farewell as well, Jimmy left alone.
Back in a warehouse on 33rd Street in Queens, Jimmy found Corey looking very troubled.
"What's wrong?" Jimmy sat down across from him.
"Oh!" Corey was surprised to see him and quickly straightened up. "Sir! It's you. Do you need anything?"
Jimmy waved a hand. "No, I'm good. But you look like something's seriously bothering you."
"Sigh…" Corey sighed and said, "To be honest, things are really bad. Andrew from Brooklyn is dead, and a bunch of greedy guys have started fighting over his territory. My forces still need time to grow."
"Heh, that's simple." Jimmy gave a cold smile and even flicked his tongue like a snake. "Give me the info on those guys. I'll take care of them for you."
"Really!? That would be amazing!" Knowing full well that Jimmy wasn't exactly human, Corey was thrilled.
"Not today though. Tomorrow night," Jimmy said, trying to suppress his excitement.
If his guess was right, Peter would find his father's briefcase tonight!
The next morning, Jimmy went straight to Peter's place.
The door was opened by Peter's elderly aunt.
"May I help you?" Aunt May asked, eyeing Jimmy with curiosity.
"Hello, I'm Jimmy. I'm one of Peter's classmates. I'm here to discuss some study topics with him," Jimmy said politely.
"Oh! You're Peter's classmate! Peter! Peter!" Aunt May called upstairs.
Footsteps and a door opening and closing followed. Peter came down from the second floor with a backpack on.
"Yeah, Aunt May? What's up?" Peter asked curiously.
"Your classmate is here to see you," she said before heading back inside.
"Oh, it's you!" Peter looked relieved. "What's up?"
"Heh, I wanted to hang out. Show me around a bit," Jimmy said cheerfully.
"Uh… I can't today. I've got something to do," Peter hesitated.
"That's okay. What is it you need to do? Can I come?" Jimmy asked quickly.
"Um… honestly, no," Peter said, shaking his head.
"...Alright then," Jimmy shrugged, feigning disappointment.
After saying goodbye to Peter, Jimmy pretended to walk away—but actually hid around the corner.
Once he saw Peter leave the house, Jimmy began tailing him. Since Peter wasn't Spider-Man yet, there was no way he could notice Jimmy following him.
He followed Peter all the way to a building. Jimmy looked up to confirm—that was the legendary Oscorp.
After Peter went inside, Jimmy stroked his chin. He wanted to sneak in too, but... he was Asian, and it might draw attention.
Helpless, Jimmy found a high-end boutique nearby and dropped several thousand dollars on a perfectly tailored black suit. Only then did he stride confidently into Oscorp.
Right away, he noticed that the lobby had quite a few security guards—they looked decently trained. Jimmy watched Peter talk to the receptionist for a bit, take an ID badge, and then head off.
Jimmy also walked over. As the saying goes: clothes make the man.
"Hello, sir. May I help you?" the receptionist asked softly, noticing his sharp suit.
"Yes, I'm here for a tour," Jimmy said, stroking his chin. "I'm also curious to see how your company's new bio-gene cable is coming along."
"Oh? May I have your name, sir?" the receptionist asked curiously.
"Heh, I'm Jimmy, from the Celestial Empire. Would it be alright if I start the tour now?" Jimmy asked.
"Of course, Mr. Jimmy. I'll have someone escort you." The receptionist smiled.
A middle-aged white man came over to serve as Jimmy's guide. To Jimmy, he was just a random extra—he didn't care much. He went upstairs with the man, ignoring Peter who stood further back in the lobby.
"I'd like to look around here a bit," Jimmy said casually.
"Certainly, sir," the man nodded.
Jimmy looked around with great interest. Only after Peter had left the building did Jimmy say, "Can you show me the bio-gene cable lab now?"
"Of course, sir." The man nodded and led Jimmy to a room where a massive screen was showing a presentation about the new biological cables.
After watching for a while, Jimmy asked, "Can I see the research lab?"
"Um…" The man hesitated.
"I'm just really curious about how you made them. You're not doing anything illegal… right?" Jimmy asked with exaggerated surprise.
"Of course not! I'll take you there now," the man said hastily.
At the door marked "Biofiber Research Department," the guide opened it, and Jimmy entered with a look of anticipation.
"Looks like both lead researchers are out, sir—take a look!" The man pointed at a machine drawing spider silk.
"Our gene-engineered spiders produce silk, and this machine weaves it. The other machine then stores it. See? Hundreds of meters of cable in such a small space!"
"Hmm," Jimmy nodded as he looked around curiously. After a while, he pointed to a blue room nearby.
"Can I take a look inside?"
"Uh… that room's off-limits," the man replied, shaking his head.
But Jimmy had already opened the door.
