Chapter 5 - A DEVASTATING RESULT

He was the alpha and when he talked with her in this kind of tension, she felt suffocated by how dominant he was.

Even Meera had never felt this strong dominance from her father.

"I want to talk to you." Her voice was small, she stumbled to say this, because she was scared of him. This sudden realization hit her so hard.

"We are talking." His voice was so rough and his expression was devoid from any emotion, thus it was hard for Meera to figure out what was in his mind right now.

She gulped down her fear and tried to ask what she needed to know. "Why did you bring me here?" The furrow between her eyes deepened when his grip on her chin tightened.

Dalton didn't answer her immediately, he just stared at her with his blind eyes, they were the color of dull blue, but then his eyes changed it color to be black, which made her gasped in surprised.

"No need to react that way," Dalton said grimly, as he felt her flinch in his grip. "I just want to see you, little one."

'Little one'… the words supposed to be an endearment, but Meera felt it was a threat. She felt like a prey, being caught by a predator.

The sudden change in eye color that just happened of course made Meera slightly flabbergasted, although it was normal for shifters, as their beasts usually had different eye colors.

"Why did you bring me here?" Meera asked again, because she didn't get the answer that she wanted.

"You don't like here." That was not a question, but a statement. It was not difficult to conclude that way if you saw how scare the girl was and that was exactly what Dalton was seeing earlier.

His expression turned bleak and his words laced with grim.

On the other hand, Meera didn't admit that directly, because she knew that she would overstep his patience and what followed after that would be something that she didn't want to imagine.

"I want to go home," she said truthfully. She had never been away from her pack at all, but now she was a twenty hours drive away from her home and family. She had not yet spoken to any of her family, since she arrived here because they confiscated her phone.

"I will give you everything that you want here," Dalton said through his gritted teeth. His eyes turned dark again when he almost lost his control over his beast. "What else do you need?"

Once his eyes turned black, his voice became darker and deeper. Meera couldn't stop herself from trembling in fear.

"WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED?!" Dalton roared, he was pissed because Meera hurt herself for this insignificant problem.

he couldn't understand why it was important for her to be with her family, because for him, family was nothing but a bunch of vile people. At the very least, his family was.

Surprised, Meera swatted his hand away from her face and pushed him from her, as she stood up and was about to run toward the door. She didn't want to be here, he scared her. There was something wrong with him, there was something feral and malicious and her first instinct was to get away from him.

However, before she could open the door, Dalton had grabbed her hand and turned her body around, as her back slammed against the hard wood and his tall and built body trapped her between him and the door.

Her breath hitch when she realized how close they were, his warm breath fanned against her soft skin on her neck.

Dalton needed to lean over so he could be on the same eyes level with her.

"Where do you think you are going?" His question was so cold, it made her shivering. "Don't ever turn your back without my permission."

At this point, Meera remembered all of the dark rumors about alpha Dalton. He killed his own family, his own mate, shunned away his brother to get to this alpha position and many more.

Meera bit her lips, words rising in her throat like bile, as a tear fell on her cheek.

"Please, let me go home," she pleaded, stumbling to find the right word for him to let her go. "I just want to go home."

Yet, Dalton grabbed the side of her face, the way he touched her was so rough, as his dark eyes ablaze with anger for what she asked.

"You are not going anywhere little one," he said filled with malice. "Your place is here, to be the luna of this pack and I will make sure you remember that."

Meera was trying to comprehend what he was saying, but everything happened so fast, she couldn't discern it until she felt this sharp pain. It was an agony that she had never felt before.

Meera screamed on the top of her lungs, she tried to push him away, but her strength was nothing in front of the alpha.

She could feel her head was throbbing in pain as did her whole body, as if someone was continuously stabbed her head with a dull knife.

That was what you felt when someone forcefully marked you.

Dalton's fangs dug so deep on her skin, leaving his mark and claimed her as his without her permission, he was not a shifter, he was a beast, a feral one.

The pain was unbearable and she could only pray this would stop soon.

"No…" she whimpered. She didn't want to be marked by him, she didn't want to be claimed like this.

This was a cruel act, but who would complain against him in his own pack?

Meera felt she lost all of her strength, because the next thing that she remembered was only his voice, calling out her name…

=====================

Meera felt her head was throbbing painfully, her breathing became so heavy, her whole body was in pain, she was so uncomfortable in her own skin and the only thing in her mind was her family and her pack.

She missed her life there.
