In the palace, the man in Arthur's body stood in front of the knight as they commenced their battle. The moonlight blade danced upon the knights armor, but struggled to get through it. As the knights flaming sword swept towards Arthur, he stopped it using the moonlight blade and pierced through the knights armor with absolute concentration. It was almost too easy.
But the knight was unfazed by this. Because inside the armor, there was nothing. Not a rotting corpse, not a man, not a skeleton, not a beast. The armor was hollow. A possessed set of armor.
"Well. That certainly does make sense…"
The flaming sword collided with Arthur's side. He stopped it with his hand before the hand could penetrate his flesh.
"Such a strong body. The power of a dragon is surely incredible…too bad this child does not use it more."
He shoved the great sword away and cut off the arm of the armor. Letting out a sigh of frustration.
"Will you ever give up, old friend? An old codger like you must be awaiting death."
The knight's hollow armor let out a chuckle.
"You call me old. Yet as I recall, dear friend. We are the same age…"
"That may be true. But this body is much younger than yours! And therefore I prevail in this frivolous contest!"
The armor paused and looked at Arthur's body. As he was still. Lancelot charged in from the side with a spear. But the knight simply swat him away.
"Do not interrupt."
The man possessing Arthur's body let out a sigh.
"This is not a world for old ancient relics like us, my dear friend. It's time for men like us to leave the world…"
The moonlight blade gleamed in the dark corridor as he burst forward. The blade dicing the armor into a million pieces. Yet as the pieces crumbled an empty laugh resounded from it.
"…and leave it in the hands of the young!"
The laugh from the armor settled. And a few words came out of him as a small glow of light began to emanate from it.
"I apologize. Old friend. But I will do what I came here to do. Today. I will watch the stars crumble."
Arthur's body stared at the armor. Which was emanating a ridiculous amount of armor and simply sighed.
"Well. Looks like my time is up as well. I leave this world, and the stars, into your hands. Dear Arthur."
The magic shrouding the corridor was broken as the armor detonated. The entire floor of the castle caved through. And what was below it was not a layer of stone rock. Not ground. But a cavern. As Arthur finally regained control of his body. He was falling into an endlessly deep cavern. Witnessing what could only have been the largest structure he had ever seen. A giant labyrinth, with walls impossibly high. As Arthur fell. He simply sighed.
'Just what in the hell happened while I was knocked out?'
It took minutes for Arthur to hit the ground. And yet he felt no pain while doing so. Despite the fact that he probably should've died. He had witnessed Lancelot and many others falling as well. But they had fallen into different sections of the maze. Arthur laid on the cold stone floor for a few moments before getting up. The moonlight blade still laying in his hand.
'Damnit. The other one's gone. Trained for 2 years to use that thing…'
He looked around him. The maze was as empty as it was large. There wasn't a single sign of life.
