"You've talk like you're not one yourself, sir." She compliments back. "Anyway, great job team! You've secured the citizens' safety while in battle. I must extend my respect." Lura bows. "No, stop it Lady Lura! Don't bow your head to us! It was your instructions and battle prowess made all things possible!"
And they all cheered for her and Lura's speechless. "Anyway, it's seems the teamed assigned to the southern section is present here?" Another team leader stepped in. "Your sister, Lady Luna, has ordered us to rejoin your forces and let her handle the defenses at the southern portion of the village."
Lura sighs. "I knew it's gonna happen. Why did I bother sending reinforcements?" Lura made a facepalm and sighs. "Anyway, I'm going to check on my big sis, can I leave you two the matters here?" The two team leaders saluted. "You can count on us, Lady Lura!" She smiled then headed to where her sister is.
Just as she arrives, the whole areas a total mess, blood, guts, and flesh spilled everywhere. She looked at her sister and she's bathing in blood. "Big sis, ya totally wreck some infernals, huh?" She draws near. "Ya really are a menace." But she noticed that Luna got a scar on her back. "Big sis, you're —!?"
"It's been too long since I've had this feeling. I've never expected my kill would be this messy." She expressed. "Infernals should've disintegrate right after being killed but these infernals are different. Their body is behaving that of living creatures in this realm."
"These infernals are called 'Roamers', that term's coined because they're the infernals failed to get back to Tophet and adapted in mortal realm. As the result, their body starts behaving that of the living." Lura answered. "I guess you're right."
Luna looked at her hands and weapon. "This sensation is yearning." Luna mumbled. "My mastery in both Weaponry & Magic excelled greater that I can heal my wounds naturally and quicker than that of mother's." She kept mumbling and Lura just listened. "But thankfully, mother shows how to cancel one's magic therefore, I was able to feel pain for such a long time."
Lura flinched. "Big sis, you can't possibly allowed yourself be injured??! You're crazy!? How could you do that??" Lura quickly healed her. "I want to have scars, like you, like mother." She mumbled and Lura listened. "My scarless body makes others assumes I'm a hapless warrior who kept being saved." — Lura is speechless and focuses on healing but just as she looked, Luna's wound is completely healed, not leaving a single scar.
"Though I temporarily cancelled my power, my body has its unique form of regeneration." Luna faces her sis. "Tell me lil sis, am I really... human?" Lura's thinking. "Well, mother has unique regeneration ability. Perhaps you inherit our mother's extreme regeneration traits, but not superior as yours though."
Luna paused. "I guess you're right. Say, lil sis. If mother has unique regeneration ability, why did she— die?" — Lura's expression writes grief and she grips her arm. "Her situation is quite difficult to regenerate, especially how her guts spilled out, a mangled state. I theorized that piercing the vital organs cancelled our mother's unique regeneration. Perhaps, that leads her death. Or perhaps, her regeneration ability does not rival to yours." Lura's tone is shivering but still trying to answer her big sister's question.
Their mother's death gives a scar that can't be healed. Among the two, Lura's the most affected.
"Big sis, I know this is an inappropriate place and time to be discussing this matter but I have something to tell you."
"Speak. I'll listen." Luna faced her and noticed that her lil sister is shivering. "Big sis, I— *grit* I'm going on an adventure. I want to.... take a break."
— Luna's fully aware of her sister feelings that she... haven't moved on from their mother's death. Which is why she hold her hand and look closely with a smiling face. "If that what makes you at ease, I permit." Lura gasped.
"Leave all the matters to me, your big sis!" She cheered Lura up. "Though, I cannot attain the same feat as our mother being Humanity's Champion. But I can somehow protect our home which is a good enough." Luna pats her. "So, go on! Big sis gonna take care everything." Lura's eyes become teary and hugged her. "Thank you so much, big sis!"
"Just be sure to visit the village once in a while okay?" She pet Lura. "I will! That's a promise!" Lura swore. "Anyway, it's getting late. Let's go home and let's have our dinner." Luna changed back to her casual clothes, so as Lura. "But— how about the clean up?"
"Naahh, leave it to the cleaners." Lura glared at her. "Just kidding, we'll help once we fill our stomach." She said and later, sisters headed back home to have dinner.
At Void Kingdom...
Lucas walks along the pathway where infernals are stationed beside. Those who unknowingly blocks his path, they stepped away and make way. Lucas walked his way up to the altar and faces the crowd. "I have grown enough to rule the Kingdom by my own, now, I, Lucas Licasffia Anherion, the Son of Lian Sui Anherion, will now succeed the throne as the 3rd Ruler of the Void Realm!"
"Long ling the new king!!!" Other infernal yells and the others followed. "Glory to the new king of the Void!" In that instance, Lucas is crowned as an official successor of the throne.
Next week, sun set....
In that week span, Luna enjoys the joyful moments of her life but that expression didn't last long. Her once brimming joy is now replaced by sadness, after all, this sunset is the last day she'll see her sister. When her sister disappeared in the wilderness, tears drips from her eyes and realized how alone she was.
When the night falls, her mother's— no, their house, is bigger than regular yet, her, being a lone resident, can't help but wallow in sadness. She cried and cried yet no one ever heard her cry for their house is big and she's alone. True, she's aspiring to achieve the same reputation as their mother, but Luna, when left alone, she's just like any other woman, longing for someone to be with them to share, to laugh, to cry in hard times.
A year passed....
Luna is still the same as before but she's out of option but to slowly overcome such sadness.
When it's Sunrise, she's harvesting her crops suddenly she saw an elderly woman carrying a heavy basket with variety of raw foods. A kind lady as she is, she halt her work and decided to aid the elderly.
"Dear Luna, why are you here?" The elderly ask. "Well, you look you needed a hand. Perhaps I could be of help." She smiled. "Anyway, where do you happen to live? I.... could help you with these though." Luna carried the basket like it was nothing. "Oh dear Luna, I happened to see you working at the field. I don't want to disturb you or anything."
"It was my intention to help, don't feel bad about it." She replied. "Anyways, I can finish my work regardless. So, where's your home, grandma? It's your time to shine!" She let out a brimming smile and the old lady can't help but smile also. "What a cheerful child, like a sun of the day." And so, Luna and the elderly headed towards her home.
At Elderly woman's house....
It was not big and gallant as it looks but as Luna looks at the old woman, she felt delighted. "I'm sorry if my house is messy, dear Luna. Being too old restricts you a lot." Luna put the basket. "I don't mind really. But— hey, grandma? Want me to offer a free clean service every week?"
"I've already caused you inconvenience my child. Let this old woman do her responsibilities." She chuckled. "After all, my home is small, hoping I clean it slowly but surely." The elderly looked up. "This house, I must take care of this. This is the last memento I had with my children."
"Memento?" Luna gasped. "Yes. My precious sons build this home for me. It may be small but the memories of this home is bigger than any house you could see."
"I see. I wished them great victory in wherever they seemed are." As Luna gave her best wishes, the elderly woman gone quiet and saddened. "What's wrong grandma?" The elderly lowered her head. "I heard that when Lyfrienia family gave their blessing or even wishes, it'll act as a charm. It would be great if my sons were still here though."
"Still... Here? Something bad happened to them?" Luna clueleslly ask. "Well, it's not like something happened to them. It's just that— they're dead for a long time." Luna gasped. "Why? Did infernals killed them?" The elderly shakes her head. "No, it's just human affairs like wars."
"Before the 1st major invasion of the Void King, the Spau Rihaetti Empire waged war to Peiz Zae Empire. And since the empire needed much manpower, my sons volunteered to take part of protecting the empire. Sadly, they've faced their bitter fate and the war ceased for a truce."
Luna pat the elderly. "Your sons risks their lives for your safety. What a valorous feat your sons are, grandma." The elderly seemed cheered up. "Human affairs stirred up chaos but once the infernals' information breaks out throughout the world, humans halt their disputes and work together to avert the crisis."
"I dunno if that's a good thing since both sides, humans & infernals creates chaos so, I'll stick with neutrality." Luna is speechless. The old lady hold Luna's hands. "You've helped me carry my basket, dear Luna. That, you earned yourself a free future reading." Luna's eyes widened. "Wait, you're a soothsayer?!" The elderly nods. "I heard from my mother that future telling is a taboo. It's stated in the divine law that whoever tampering with fate, be it future teller or those with people asking with future telling, they'll be struck by divine punishment."
"Perhaps that's the reason why my sons were taken from me." Luna halt. "That's the divine punishment I received." The elderly lady felt remorse. "But dear Luna, please give this elderly woman another chance to read yours, hoping I could somehow repay the gratitude you gave me." Luna shakes her head. "No, I don't want to, grandma. If you did, you and I will be struck by divine punishment." Luna insist but by single contact with her hand, the elderly woman sees the future that awaits her.
"The future I see, filled with joy and— tragedy." Luna gasped. "You, Luna, will meet someone you'll love and cherish. With him, you'll receive your greatest gift. But— this someone is not from this world. Thus, tragedy is imminent."
"I don't want to be rude but why did you read my future?!" Luna looks worried. "With that, we'll be struck by Divine Punishment...!"
"No, only me dear Luna. I read your future without your consent. And I was grateful I did." She looks at her basket. "I've lived too long, delved into solitude. I cannot undone the things I did, especially using my ability for money. Therefore, doing this good deed will somehow make me at peace." Luna can't help with her choices. "Anyway, it's almost high noon. It's time for you to head to your crops." The elderly woman starts cleaning her house. "Once again, thank you for helping me, dear Luna."
Later....
Luna's back with the field. Since it's high noon, she rested under the tree and having her lunch. Suddenly, the elderly woman's soothsaying etched on her mind;
"The future I see, filled with joy and— tragedy. You, Luna, will meet someone you'll love and cherish. With him, you'll receive your greatest gift. But— this someone is not from this world. Thus, tragedy is imminent."
"Not from this world, did she mean he's not from this continent?" She eat her food as she keep wondering. "Speaking of someone not from this continent— well, I did met someone back then. He said he's from an island called Lunacy under Lasugnia continent." She gulped and drink water. "It's been a while since I last saw him. What is his name? Lu... Licas... GAAHH!! I forgot!"
She put her emptied lunch beside and look at the foliage. "If he was that someone from Soothsayer's future reading, then I was looking forward meeting him and— Oi! Oi! Woi!!? She did mention I'll receive a gift from him? Well, I guess I need to prepare a gift as well!" Luna rested so she'll continue doing her job later.
At the Void...
Lucas is sitting on his throne chair while some infernal performers does their thing to amuse their king but it only made it worse. He slammed his fist and the chair arm shattered. The performers halt and and struck by fear. "Is there no other things for you to do to your gig?! You've been repeating it from yesterday! I'm not even amused but annoyed!"
Lucas voice trembled the Kingdom causing terror to those who are near him. Still, Lucas didn't mind and made a face palm. "Aleksdair, you!!!" He points at the infernal performer leader.
Aleksdair Anherion, is almost alike that of a jester. He's a young performer whose reputation's great in performance category. His jaggy bones overlapped in joints, like blades. He has a striking two horns resembling that of a jester hat.
"Can't you— at least, create something new? I had ENOUGH with such repetitive performance!" He then massages his nose bridge. "I'm really in a bad mood!" He glared at them. "All of you—! BEGONE FROM MY SIGHT!" With a dominating force that Lucas unleashed, his surroundings caved in. "I expect new performance tomorrow." The performers nods and left the altar.
Just then, the performers stumbled upon Roquinito. "Sir Roquinito, it seems our performance triggered his highness' tantrum. We are terribly sorry, it seems we aren't good performers after all." Aleksdair's hands were shaking but Roquinito pats him.
"No, you and the others did well." He reassures. "Our king, Lucas, hasn't moved on from the sudden lost of his father years before. I'm sure you're aware of that." Roquinito explains. "We are!" Aleksdair enthusiastically replied. "That's why we tried our best to somehow elevate that grief but we only made it worse."
