Chapter 12 - The Gap Between People

"Kuroro, how did you learn Nen?" Rin asked curiously, looking at Kuroro in the room.

Hearing this, Kuroro's expression froze for a moment. His deep eyes seemed to flash with a fragmented memory, then he gently lowered his head and said calmly, "At the beginning... I just wanted to get..."

"Food..."

"Warm clothes..."

"The money needed by important people..."

At this point, he suddenly looked up at Rin, who was listening intently, and his lips curled up slightly as he said softly, "And then... I got it..."

Hearing this, Rin's young face turned dark with a line of black lines.

Kuroro, this guy!

Is he messing with me?

Unconcerned, Rin patted his clothes and took the prepared breakfast from Kuroro, saying irritably, "Fine, if you don't want to say, then don't. Just eat quickly. We're starting training today!"

With that, he began to devour his breakfast, his wolfing down food seeming to vent his frustration at not getting an answer.

Kuroro, on the other hand, remained calm, merely glancing at Rin before serving himself a bowl of rice and eating quietly. Inside, he thought, If it's Rin, he probably doesn't want to hear about such experiences...

After all, Rin's kindness... is something I can't understand...

The breakfast ended quickly in silence.

After eating, as promised, they first went to Haku's house to greet Inji and the others.

Already uneasy from receiving "gifts" unexpectedly, Inji quickly asked Rin what was going on. Rin didn't explain much, just smiled and reassured him to accept it.

Inji, feeling helpless, had no choice but to accept and didn't ask further.

In his view, his nephew seemed to have undergone some inexplicable changes. Although uncertain about the future, his own nephew surely wouldn't harm him, so he followed Rin's arrangements.

The forest was still covered in white snow in a quiet forest corner of Snow Village.

At this moment, Rin, wrapped in a thick coat, stood straight in front of Kuroro, listening intently to his teachings with a serious face.

Although Kuroro had never taught a disciple before, his Nen ability was the Bandit's Secret.

During Kuroro's growth in strength, he had plundered countless people's Nen abilities using this initially not-so-strong ability.

Kuroro had outstanding talent, and his thirst for knowledge made him even more formidable, evidenced by his dark circles from staying up all night reading.

So, when it comes to understanding Nen, Kuroro is among the best in the Hunter world.

"Hey... Kuroro..."

"Are you sure that just by closing your eyes and feeling carefully, you can sense the flow of Qi in your body?"

After listening to Kuroro's explanation for a while, Rin, who had been pretending to meditate with his eyes closed, opened his eyes and asked with a distressed look.

Hearing Rin's question, Kuroro was slightly taken aback, then said softly, "What's wrong? Didn't you feel it, Rin?"

Rin shook his head, his face looking a bit troubled, worried that he might not have the aptitude to sense Qi.

Kuroro calmly reassured him, "It's okay. Although it may sound simple, sensing Qi's presence isn't that easy. Rin, just be patient and persistent, and you should be able to do it."

Rin nodded, somewhat relieved but still worried about his potential lack of talent.

Kuroro shook his head gently, saying seriously, "If it's Rin, there won't be any problem."

Receiving this affirmation from a Nen master gave Rin some confidence. He closed his eyes again, following Kuroro's method to sense the flow of Qi within his body.

An entire afternoon passed. Rin's small body sat cross-legged on the cleared ground, eyes closed and face solemn.

Kuroro, appearing completely unbored, stood quietly under a silver tree trunk, watching Rin silently.

"Hu...."

Suddenly, a soft exhale sounded in the forest. Kuroro's eyes narrowed as he stepped forward and asked softly, "How is it, Rin? Did it work?"

Rin hung his head, then suddenly reached out and scratched his hair, speaking in a distressed voice, "It's no use, Kuroro, I can't feel any Qi at all!"

"Are you sure sensing Qi is as simple as you said?"

Hearing Rin's expectant question, Kuroro glanced at him, rubbed his chin in thought, and said softly, "Maybe I didn't consider it properly. Don't worry, Rin, there's no need to rush."

Although Rin was a bit disappointed, he couldn't help but ask with a hint of hope, "Kuroro, how long did it take you to sense the flow of Qi? You can't hide this from me!"

Kuroro glanced at Rin, then silently turned his head away, saying softly, "Don't worry, Rin. If it's you, you'll definitely succeed..."

Rin had a rough idea of what Kuroro meant and couldn't help but feel a bit disheartened. He patted his chest weakly and said, "You... it didn't even take you 10 minutes to sense the flow of Qi, did it...?"

"Sigh... It turns out that ordinary people can't compare to geniuses..."

With that, he dejectedly got up and walked back to Haku's house, leaving a weary remark, "Today's training ends here. Maybe a good night's sleep will help me sense the Qi."

Seeing Rin's slumped figure walking back, Kuroro's brows furrowed.

Regarding Rin, his expression involuntarily became serious. Frowning slightly, his clear eyes were full of contemplation as he murmured, "Sensing the flow of Qi is just the initial step in discovering one's potential. It shouldn't be this difficult... What's the problem...?"

"If I remember correctly, even the least sensitive Uvogin took less than half an hour to sense the presence of Qi..."

"Nobunaga took 9 minutes... Pakunoda 11 minutes... Shalnark seemed to take 15 minutes..."

"It's just the basic application of Nen..."

"Back then, after grabbing what I wanted from those guys, the Bandit's Secret automatically appeared in my hand..."

"Was it because my desires were fulfilled or some other reason?"

Muttering to himself, Kuroro rubbed his eyes gently, his tone becoming increasingly frustrated.

"If I had known, I should have considered these basic issues more carefully. If Rin gets troubled by this..."

"Damn it...."

At this moment, Kuroro had not yet considered that the gap between people isn't just the difference between members of the Phantom Troupe...
