Chapter 29 - A pact with the Devil

The young man with black hair looked at her and responded, "Why of course, how could I owe the pleasure?" Ava then wandered about his name, "Hmmm, your name perhaps? I don't have the right to have insolent behavior."

Henry smiled with his elbow on his lap, holding his head, "Oh, please. You already know me; I barely appear in the classes you attend, yet here I am. I am sure you have known me by many names; 'Gentleman' is one of them."

Ava went on to show sarcasm, "Ahh, yes of course, the word 'Gentleman' suits your premature attempt at trying to woo me over, yes?"

The young man smiles and laughs. He got himself a nice bottle of champagne and continued to laugh.

Before he lashed out at her, "You should at least be grateful that I have saved you; now you owe me something in return," while he elegantly poured champagne into his cocktail, holding the glass.

Sipping it, eyes closed. "Mmmm, you have to admit the taste of the wine."

Henry handed the cocktail glass to her and tempted her, "You should give it a try, it's an expensive liquor worth 12,000 credits."

Henry handed it to Ava, and Ava grabbed it with interest in her eyes. Her eyes gaze at it, it was luscious red in its substance.

Her eyes, beautiful deep green eyes, widen towards the glass, she said, "Oh my gosh, the sight of this wine."

Henry then tells her with a faint, suggestive tone, "Try circling the glass."

Ava's beautiful eyes gaze at the liquid in the glass with interest as she begins fidgeting with the glass, observing the substance in it. She then looked at Henry with her mouth a little open.

Henry looked at Ava and asked, "I can provide you free but moderate access to my wine, if you become my 'confidant' or 'partner'.

Ava looked at the wine one more time, and then back at him, and commented, "Nice try, trying to tempt me. Tell me what happened to the other girls you pursued? Did they run out of vivacity?'

Henry's eye flinches at Ava's comment and says, "You are holding to a superficial impression of me, Miss Ava."

"I am on the same course as you; my parents forced me to be there, not a nerd. I was never meant to be there."

"I was never interested in the course, until I laid my eyes on you"

"And now that we are here, I want to give you an opportunity. You are more than just what other people see in you and more than your hobbies."

"You can make an impact with my help," he said, hands raised as he smiled

Ava's eyes furrowed. Suddenly, she could feel her heartbeat and said, "You do?"

Henry nodded his head, his mouth spoke with approval, "Of course, honey. You are the stellar student of Unison University of Engineering and Technology."

"Why would I overlook you?" he exuberantly claims.

Henry flicked his hand up with confidence in his mouth, "Listen, I had a girlfriend before when I first laid my eyes on you, I decided to take an interest in you for a bit, but decided to focus on other things."

"But we already broke up, so now I am seeking something else."

Henry's eye creased with an even more smile, as he put his hand at the back of his head and said, "It's funny people say that I am a womanizer, but for other girls I am their provider, their handler, their dealer."

"Peers fume because they do not court the woman well. It's not my fault they don't know how to talk to ladies", he said in an objectifying way as if he were their handler - Ava observed him touching the back of his head, eyes closed.

Henry put his hand down at his lap and said, "Think of me as a multivaried individual who needs help, and use the companionship of girls as a way to part my time from my distant parents."

"Even if they are way too generous, I also have to be generous with the people, I know. Parents' tradition"

"And that brings me to you," Henry points at Ava with glee in his smile, and his hunter but almond-hooded brown eyes tried to look inspiring, but still held the color of a predator.

"If you could help me with something else, I will help you in return. Please, I need this more than anyone, especially you can even imagine," Henry says as performative sadness envelops his eyes.

Ava crossed her arms and feet and commented, "Well, I am sorry to hear your pitiful situation, Henry."

She waved her head in disgust while holding the cocktail glass, before sipping from it.

"If it helps that I turn into your confidant or partner, I would be able to alleviate your situation right away," her eyes looked straight at Ava with calculation.

Henry then holds the champagne up and says, "In return, you get to have more of this under my control."

Ava looked straight at the champagne, eyes widening.

"Whoa, yeah. I believe we are in agreement, but I still don't trust you."

Henry laughed, he leaned her head down, pushing his torso back at the chair, "Ohh, definitely, your distrust is understandable after all, I got a snide impression of everyone, especially you."

"So fun to mess with, even you got hooked to that bait." Henry's eyes turned teasing, with a pouty smile

"Well, sorry for tricking you then," Henry resumed laughing before calming himself down.

Ava tilted her head, reciprocating his smile, "No, need to apologize, Mr Williams."

"You just want me so badly that you will rescue me, and that makes me integral already to you," Ava said.

Ava leaned her torso forward and said, "Admit it."

Henry put his hands on the chair and said, "Fine, it's not the first time I heard someone say it like that."

"And you certainly won't be the last either." Henry began to smile, as if he were amused by Ava's attempts.

"So the most optimal course is for you to be my confidant, your interests and my interests."

Henry's gaze shifted from her face to her clothes, and he said, "Ughhhhh...." with disgust in his eyes.

"I am sure you could dress better than that, but nah, you don't have that cash for that. I've seen girls who dress better because of the opportunities other men gave them."

"But you, not fit for someone so classically pretty"

Ava's eyes turned bitter, eyes gazed at him with disdain.

"So, I can't compare to the other girls, you know, other than me. Because I dress like someone from the streets pretending to look formal."

Henry lets out his hand, "No, I am saying it doesn't fit you, Ava. And if you partner up with me," hands raised.

"I could give you access to the fashion guides, designer brands that will make you flex yourself out there."

"People will respect you, acknowledge you, listen to you, or even envy you. That is, if you become my confidant, of course, his finger slides around the pad's cushion next to the chair he is sitting on in the interior of the limousine.

"At the end of the day, however, the point of having a Playboy or better yet, a handler is to have fun, no need to take things seriously."

Henry looked up to the ceiling, his eyes turned grandiose, "But with me around, you get the benefits, and both of us win, and we can even enjoy the pleasure. Don't want to be lonely, I can introduce you to other friends of mine. But you refused that door, and it's about to close itself."

"So choose now… Cause time is ticking slowly, and there won't be coming back from this," Henry looks up at the ceiling.

Ava felt shaken, her tone was hushed and tentative, "I don't know if I am prepared for the world you are going to grant me. I might get overwhelmed. I get it, designer brands, freedom, everything. But there is more than that stuff, and frankly, I don't think I am interested in it."

"So sorry for popping your bubble, but you failed to convince me," Ava said with a tease and scorn, deep-green eyes challenging him.

Ava raises her hand, "I do thank you for the ride though, it was tough outside with rain and some fine liquor." Ava looked down at

"So how do I repay you? Sex or something you are impotent"

"Maybe therapy from the stellar student of Unison University?" with mocking pity in her eyes toward him.

Henry waved his head in disappointment, "I believe my offering for you is miscalculated, perhaps you are more than a trophy, and you deserve to be treated more than a trophy," as he started moving his torso and head.

"And you are right, it is foolish for a person to place one's own worth in such an insignificant show of power and strength."

"And from my own views, you are a genius engineer in a beautiful female vessel - so the stakes are high." Henry's eyes open.

Henry grabs his own phone from his pocket, and the hologram materializes before them. It was a display of many computer components.

"There are many of those components, diodes, stuff that my logistics network has access to."

"But I am not giving them to you yet; we need an agreement, and I need to feel that you deserve them in a way that I see fit," Henry says with elegance.

"So what do you say, do we have a deal?" Henry's eyes open with a smug look, his hand extending towards her

Ava was impressed at the collection, her eyes widened at the number of components, "You have so many of them… This is for free, right?"

Henry nodded, "Of course, it's my family's business. And you definitely won't get in trouble for receiving free items from my company."

"Come on now, do you want to ruin the offer?"

Ava nodded, "Very well, Mr Williams." Her eyes stared

As Ava extends her hand to shake Henry's hand, "We have a deal then, I will be your confidant. I am willing to put aside all of the accusations, just make sure to provide for my wants."

Ava's eye shimmered with calculation and seduction, "And… I am yours for the taking," while her blouse was still drenched.

The calculus of her dignity was at stake, but Ava saw a door in front of her that she must seize through him.

"Do you have a heater or something? I am still feeling cold." Ava uses her hand as a fan to her face.

Henry responded, "Don't know, but let me find."

Henry searched for a heater around him before getting a device. He readies the device as he plans to let Ava borrow it.

Aside from him, however, he also took a camera, looking like it was of high quality, and slowly took a picture of Ava and said, "Whoa, you look so beautiful. You don't mind if I take a photo of you right now, because I think I found art."

"Because in my mind, you will look even mesmerizing when you wear nice dresses."

Ava looked at Henry and nodded, "Sure," where she closed her eyes and relaxed.

Where Henry muttered to himself, choking his saliva, "I think I am obsessed, but I can't help."

He handed the heater to Ava, to which Ava grabbed and began to operate the device.

She dries herself up with microwave technology, allowing her to feel warm.

Ava exhaled her words as she used the microwave technology on herself, "Ahh, that's better."

Soon, Henry asked Ava politely, "Should I get you water, miss?"

Ava looked at him and nodded, "Sure, water could help. A supply of oxygen would help," as Henry handed her a plastic bottle of fresh water.

She grabbed it and drank it herself, feeling even more pleasurable

She waved her flowy hair from her back as she operated the heater, like it was a hair dryer.

"You are desperate for me, are you?" with a purr

Henry only said, "Don't be too smart, it's sloppy. And yes, I do want you," with obsession in his eyes.

Henry said, "A deal is a deal, you are my confidant, and I am the handler."

Ava scoffed with amusement in her smile and beautiful eyes, "Confident, I doubt I am more like a partner, or transactional companion."

Henry didn't say anything before saying the line, "Whatever you say, just make sure to follow along."

Ava checked through the windows, "So when should we meet again, lover boy?"

Henry answered, "Anytime you want, if you need me, I will be available. Just message me, you know my social media account - And I have full confidence in what my InterChat account is"

"I have a hard time fetching you back to your house. Could I perhaps have your home address?" Henry asked

Ava gave her the address, and both Henry and the driver listened as the android in the driver's position started to interface with manual controls to Ava's location.

They both looked at each other while the limousine was still gliding around the skyroads, where it eventually made a lift and went to Ava's neighborhood before landing outside Ava's house.

The chauffeur said with a feminine tone, "Sir, we are already at her house."

Ava checked the windows and could see her house next to the Limousine, where she stood up straight to the door.

She looked at Henry with a challenging smile, "Thanks for your courtesy. I will make sure to carry my deal. And one more thing, there are rules just for our safety - And don't be so salty when I made the rules."

Henry smiled, dismissing her words with his hand, "Yeah, yeah, it's time for you to go home, Ava. We will meet again someday."

Ava left, and the chauffeur exited the door to close the vehicle's door back to her driver's chair, where the limousine lifted off into the air.

Ava walked to her house feeling refreshed, where she opened the door, removed her shoes, and returned them to the containers as she walked upstairs to her room.

She brushed her teeth, decontaminated herself, and looked up towards the mirror of her bathroom with confusion in her eyes, "My life is about to get interesting."

Ava wore her nanosuit pajamas and fell on her bed. Eyes opened towards the ceiling as she contemplated her life choices before they closed.
