Chapter 50 - Danjin. Part 2

The night passed by quickly. The morning sunlight immediately greeted her through the gaps in her eyelids.

Although she felt a bit groggy, Danjin didn't waste time and immediately prepared to make her way around Rinascita.

Although there's no specific reasons as to why she was sent here... wait, didn't she herself requested to be sent here?

Why?

...Something's weird, but she can't place her hand on the reasons why.

As she opened the door leading to the outside, the morning sun greeted her and the warm breeze gently grazing her skin.

'...What a great weather today.' It's been a while since she had seen the sky without any clouds. Only the blueness of the atmosphere remained.

Danjin walked out the door and began exploring the surroundings. Since it was too dark yesterday, she couldn't really explore much of what Rinascita had to offer.

Besides, she had only visited one city so far, Ragunna.

Perhaps she should make her way to the other city? What was it... New Federation?

Wait, that's a nation.

Never mind that, she'd just explore Rinascita for now.

After marking her current location inside her terminal, Danjin began making her way towards the wild.

'I'll buy her a terminal after this.' Danjin thought.

"...?" Confused about what she just thought of, Danjin stopped her steps.

'...I want to buy another terminal? Why? For who? Me? But I already have a terminal?'

Random thoughts swirled inside her head, but none of them makes any sense. Did someone implanted a chip with information inside her head or something?

Well, it doesn't matter.

As long as she doesn't lose herself, it's fine.

'Now, now. What should I have for breakfast today?' Summoning her sword, Danjin unsheathed the blade and hang the sheath on her waist.

This way, she'd be able to immediately store it once she's done using the blade.

Looking around, she spotted some wild boars roaming the land.

It seemed to be a small pack of them.

'...Too nutritious, maybe?'

Hm, as long as it fills her belly.

[Wuthering Waves]

Danjin sat by the campfire she had made, watching as the meat was slowly being cooked to perfection.

She looked through her terminal to see if there's any emergency going on inside Jinzhou. But after seeing her mails empty, she closed the terminal and grabbed her blade instead.

She unsheathed it and scrutinized the blade's durability.

'It's not going to last much longer... Maybe I should send it to a blacksmith?'

Looking at the cracks present on the steel, Danjin figured that the blade would most definitely snap the next time she fought a Tacet Discord with stone as skin.

That wouldn't be ideal, it might even cause her unnecessary harm.

More over, she wouldn't be able to protect others without any weapon.

That's important.

'I guess I'll visit Ragunna again.' Danjin decided.

As her weapon dematerialized into her Tacet Mark, Danjin grabbed a stick that was holding the meat.

As she was wasting time inside her terminal, the meat was already done cooking. Which meant that she could simply sink her teeth into them.

Although it was a bit hot, it was edible. Not as good as the food inside that Margherita place... But that makes sense, she didn't even properly season her food.

'Maybe I'll visit that restaurant again.' The food there were quite good.

With that in mind, she finished the rest of her food and began making her way towards Ragunna.

After an hour, she finally arrived a the plaza.

Firstly, she'd need a blacksmith.

For that, she began asking around for the most reliable ones.

Fortunately, she found one quickly and commissioned him to fix her blade. Although the blacksmith's eyes glittered a little bit as he took her weapon, she trusted him enough to leave it in his hands.

After all, many people recommended him. It's probably just his passionate heart that makes him look... untrustworthy.

And she's not one to judge based on looks either.

After sending her blade away, Danjin made her way towards Trattoria Margherita. A place recommended by that silver haired girl from yesterday.

Good thing that the seats were quite empty this time, effectively cutting the time required for her to get her food. "Hm, I want the same thing as yesterday, Steak Margherita and Ragunna Expresso please."

The girl behind the counter smiled and responded. "Gotcha! Steak Margherita and Ragunna Expresso coming right up!"

Danjin sat down in her seat neatly, waiting for her food.

As she looked around, a blond haired girl with a massive hat passed by her table.

Danjin glanced at the girl's back before turning her attention towards the river.

It was just another person coming to get food, nothing to worry about.

Her food arrived quickly, proving to her just how little people there are compared to yesterday.

'Although I've already eaten just now... those things tasted plain. With proper seasonings, I could probably eat more.'

As they say, there are always more room for desserts. In this case, proper food.

Danjin turned her gaze to the empty seat across her own.

'...'

It felt like there's supposed to be someone else here...

"...I need to sleep more." Perhaps she's been too sleep deprived recently. She's remembering nonexistent information and even started to hallucinate a companion.

As Danjin was stuffing herself with food, she noticed something inside her Tacet Mark.

It was... a sword.

An unfamiliar sword, one she didn't even realized she had.

Summoning it, she found the grip familiar... but also concerningly disgusting.

For some reason, it felt like she's had only bad memories with this specific weapon.

But that can't be. After all, she never even knew she had this sword.

For most her lives, she's wield many different kind of weapons, but never this one.

'...Something is not right.' She's not hallucinating. It was just an inkling, but... she had a gut feeling.

All these episodes she's been going through since she arrived in Rinascita... they're wrong.

These weren't the correct memories.

As for this sword... It's a weapon she had once used in a state in which she was not herself.

She doesn't remember when or where but...

"You are the Hero."

She could feel deep regret ingrained inside her mind.
