The Dimensional Nation

What if you were to talk about your favourite characters in a different setting and timeline? That's easy. It's a fanfiction. What about a story where all your favourite characters in the same setting? Then you have yourself a multiverse. How about adding all of your favourite characters into a singular world that has its own lore and worldbuilding with one special world meant to guard that supposed world-between-worlds? Probably a mix of everything. What do you think happens to your favourite characters, like say, when you pause the story in a game to go to the bathroom? Or while you're waiting for the next episode of your favourite series to be released? Or when you don't flip to the next page of your novel because your teacher is suddenly asking you about your homework? Or even...when the story ends? This is a multiverse fanfiction story set in an exclusive world known as the Dimensional Nation, a behind-the-scenes world where many familiar characters come around to either take a break from the stress and control of their own authors or simply meet up with new people. Sarah is the sole human and otherworldly being who protects the nation and the people, the characters, that comes and goes into this world as they please. Though, having retired from pulling characters into the world and giving them access to the nation, she has long returned most of the characters back to their own world once they have made their peace. What's left of their mark in the Dimensional Nation is the story they left behind, archived as the foundation to the Dimensional Nation's integrity. But as they say, a solid foundation can tumble and a protector can also falter. As Sarah meets with the craziness of the folks from her own world as well those coming from her friends, those familiar characters, she learns to prove her worth through more than just her way of fighting to protect the Dimensional Nation, but also to protect her favorite characters and stories behind a wall that only she can pass through.
