With Shurry still ready for a fight, growling with an intensity in his eyes beyond that of many monsters, it was clear to all in the room, there was something deeply rooted, ingrained in his very being.
It was then, Empress realized that Leon's words simply didn't describe the scene to even half the degree of what really happened. "Young Shurry, I overheard you did something before that got you used to someone else, would you be able to try it again here?" She asked, calmly smiling at the ferocious looking wolf. "I'll make sure she doesn't try anything."
Shurry growled, and snarled, but reluctantly walked around. His snarling did not cease while he identified the scent. "You're, clean?" He wondered as the scent started to come clear. He returned to his human form, and walked back over to Idunn, and curled up in her lap. "Mommy, I'm tired." He said, shaking.
"Well, that sure was scary." Idunn smiled, nuzzling him in her embrace.
"I'd rather stare down the Levi thingy again."
"Wait, what did he just say? Explain." Hera and Empress said the same thing, in unison.
"Oh, the reason we returned so early, we encountered the Leviathan. Fortunately we were able to drive it off."
"Drive it off!"
"Well, more like Shurry cut its head off."
"Leon, I've heard my fair share of boasts but even that is too much. He's what? Level 4 at the most."
"No, Empress, for some reason Leon's words ring true." Hera said, her face deepening a bit in shock. "Though, I suspect there's more to the story."
"Caught me, while he did make the final cut, it was only possible because I had enough time to prepare it in advance. I still need some more training, my cut was far too shallow. Then he comes falling down like a spinning saw, and cuts right through what little was left to cut through."
"So, it's dead then?"
"No, it has a surprising tenacity. Truly a monster among monsters. Though, if even a couple more were there with me… No, that's too optimistic."
"What do you rate that monster as then?"
"I'm not sure there's a few factors to consider. But if I had to make a guess, It's easily a level 11 monster. Perhaps even level 12." Leon sighed. "In short we got lucky."
"Yeah, that doesn't sound like an easily won fight." Empress said, taking her seat. "I'll trust your eyes for now Leon. And you're right, you do need more training. Ideally you'd reach level 8 soon. A shame it's taken so long, with how rapid you were prior to this."
"It's difficult to find opportunities out there. And dungeon trips are few and far between."
"Right, perhaps we should plan a dungeon expedition and bring you and this young Shurry along. His magic will be rather helpful."
Shurry's ears popped up, and he turned his head to the side, just barely peeking one eye out from Idunn's bosom. "I heard there's a big guy down there?"
"Yep, loads of monsters. And they're stronger than the ones on the surface."
"Stronger than leviwhatever?"
"It's possible there may be a handful of them that are stronger than that monster. But as of now, I can only confirm that there are monsters of around level 9 or below. Then again I haven't cleared the dungeon just yet so who knows?"
"I wanna kill that goliaby guy! I want to try something."
"He was killed a week and a half ago, and it's not really our turn to go after it. Who's turn is it now, Hathor Familia?"
"Hathor bought the chance from another familia so it's unlikely that they'll just give you the chance to kill it yourself. They probably want to do it for training."
Off to the side, the twin sisters were still stunned by how much better they both felt. Each actually able to move around far more freely.
"This is amazing." Meteria sounded.
"Shurry, what do you want with the Goliath?"
"The stone. I heard they're really big!"
"If that's all you want, then would any magic stone work?"
"Yep!" Shurry's tail started wagging.
"Pfft, I see why you like this boy."
"My son is precious to me. I don't want to give him up. But, he wants to get stronger, and staying with us wouldn't help him with that."
"Don't you dare give him to Zeus. He'll turn into a perv!"
"I'd never give him to such an old pervert!"
"Good, that's good. If you want to find someone who'll take him and the girl there… Hathor might actually be your best bet. She's a pyramid lover, but she's not a pain like the others."
…
Soon there was a huge feast in the Hera Familia home. A handful of Zeus familia were also present, but their number was small, an indication that they were just here late on business. But even so, there wasn't a single person that missed the sight of so much food disappearing from the world and entering such a tiny stomach. It was a young werewolf, with happy flicking ears, and a whooshing tail.
…
After the meal, Idunn, Shurry and Baldr went to Bable, while Leon, Malik and Legi went to their temporary home in the city.
Bable had specific rooms meant for the gods. And one of these such rooms was kept for Idunn and Baldr. When they were about to enter their room, someone stopped them.
"I didn't realize you two were in the city?" Their eyes looked down to the boy held in Idunn's arms. "And may I ask, why have you brought a child here?"
"This is our son, Shurry. He's still young, and has a hard time sleeping without me."
"Oh wow, you really found someone to call your own huh?"
"Yep. Now excuse us. We are tired." The other god waved and left. "Son, that god was Sobek. He was a huge thorn in Zeus & Hera's side many years back. But his familia has fallen to ruin since then. Don't worry about him alright. You can still stay with us."
Baldr, Idunn, and Shurry got all cleaned off, and went to bed. Shurry passed out right away, laying in between the two of his parents.
