Chapter 47 - C047 : Hera Familia (2)

"Apologies, Empress, I lost control for a moment. A memory of a truly horrific sight had risen in my mind."

The woman, captain of the Hera familia, Empress, she sized Leon up once more, then looked down to the young boy, and back to Leon. "You'll have to tell me all about it. But we can wait until later. Come on inside, Hera's inside. She would come out, but she's currently kneeling in apology for stealing someone's snacks."

Shurry tilted his head, and sniffed. "Hmm? This place has a lot of scary smells." His tail drooped, along with his ears. "Mommy, is it really safe inside there?"

"Remember what you did last time for those two?"

"There's no need to worry little boy, though I don't know why, we did send all of our amazoness sisters out on errands, or to put some pressure, and tease Zeus' men." It was the Empress who spoke.

A bit pensive, when Empress got close to him, he still sniffed, narrowing down the scents down to the she had. "You… You don't smell like a bad person?"

With that, Empress showed them the way inside. All while whispering beach and forth between Leon and herself. The shock of what she heard caused her to stop mid stride. "No wonder you'd want to send all of them away for now. However, if that's what a bad person is, I can assure you that none of my sisters would ever do anything of the sort."

"It doesn't matter, just the scent of one of their kin is enough to be called bad. It takes him some effort to register the opposite. I can't blame him for that either, not after what I saw that day." Leon said, his hand clenched so hard, he bled.

"Uncle Leon, stop hurting yourself." Shurry pouted, and then cast a chant-less spell healing Leon's injury.

"Sorry, and thank you, Shurry."

Empress' eyes shot wide open. "Young Shurry, just what kind of injuries can you heal with that?"

"Huh? Uhm, a lot?"

"Good, I have hope those two might actually recover from their illness."

…

Inside the Hera familia home, Shurry's head was on a swivel, doing his level best to watch out for sudden surprise attacks from amazoness. That trauma ran deep, and would more than likely never, ever, fully go away. They were all brought to a room specialized for entertaining the very few, special guests they would have. It wasn't many but they still had enough to warrant a room dedicated to it.

It was a few minutes later when a goddess entered the room, and nearly choked seeing there were men in her home. But she quickly repressed it, seeing the soul of the boy currently sitting in Idunn's lap.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't Idunn, and Baldr. So, I heard you had something you wanted to try. Do you think it'll actually work?"

"I know that we've tried everything else so far-"

"Sorry, Baldr, but I'm a bit on edge from your last messenger, please let Idunn do the speaking."

"Pfft, Hera, you're just as serious as ever." Idunn giggled.

"Mommy, why's this woman so mean to daddy?"

"She's just a little on edge. We are claiming that you have the ability to heal a couple of her members. Ones with an illness thought to be incurable." She explained, patting Shurry's head. "Hera, my son here, has a rather unique type of healing magic, it's got a fundamental difference from all others, I hope you'll let him try to heal those girls. If anything, his ability should be able to give a little relief."

Hera sighed, then fixated her sight upon the little boy. "So, you think you've got this big bad healing spell, do you? What's it called?"

"Lunas Restore…" He answered timidly.

"And you think that will work?"

"Uhm? Mommy, and daddy said it might. I believe them."

"Alright then, I'll let you give it a shot, but you aren't leaving my sight."

The two girls came into the room, one was able to walk, while the other was carried by another familia member. Shurry could tell in an instant, they were sick, really sick.

"Mommy, how is it possible for someone to be so sickly?"

"You can sense it then?" Shurry nodded… "Then can you give it a try?"

Shurry leaped off Idunn's lap, and sniffed a few times, ensuring that he wasn't healing a bad person.

"Such noise."

"He's cute."

Shurry ignored the words of the two girls, and instead cast his spell on them both. A powerful healing spell like that and he could target multiple people at once. This caught the eye of the high level adventurers, specifically the ones who'd know just how useful that power would be, especially on the super deep floors of the dungeon.

Inside each of these girl's souls, something began to change. It was as if the progression of their illness had been halted, and even retreated a little bit. It wasn't much but it was a noticeable difference, however, Shurry's mind had reached its limit. He couldn't go on much longer.

"What do you think, Luna?"

"Healing this injury is impossible, with this spell alone."

"Can you hold it back then?"

"I could do that with ease! But then I'd have to leave you, and I'd only be able to save one of them."

"What if I made you stronger? Like way stronger!"

"If I got strong enough, even a small shedding of myself would be able to manage it. No problems, I'm surprised they never tried this before."

"Maybe most spirits are long dead, and thus they wouldn't want to risk it?"

"That must be it!"

Shurry stopped the spell and stumbled his way back into Idunn's lap. "I'm sorry mommy, That's all I can do right now. If I was stronger… I have a way to cause the illness to stop entirely. But right now, I'm afraid all I can do is hold it back a bit."

"That's fine."

The door burst open with an Amazoness showing up and running in. "Lady Hera-" Her eyes fell on Shurry. "Oh my, such a cutie!"

Shurry howled, and assumed a radically different attitude. Even taking on his wolf form and preparing to lunge.

"Oh feisty."

Empress appeared, to block the amazoness' view, and then gave her a good hit. "I told you, that today was not a good day to do something like this."

"Huh? You don't have to hit me so hard."

"On the contrary, I feel I should hit you harder. Activating the boy's trauma, after he just performed a miracle on our young sisters' illness."
