UK:GSW Chapter 382 – Black Zetsu Decides to Go All Out Strengthening Nagato
The operations targeting the behind-the-scenes boss group of Naruto Shippuden temporarily came to an end, concluded with Black Zetsu following the fine tradition of that trash boss Muzan Kibutsuji—abandoning his pawns to save the king and running away.
The gains from this were that everyone except Black Zetsu was caught in one sweep.

However, Black Zetsu's ability in this aspect was not particularly strong—he was merely relying on his unique nature to output Yang power continuously. Given some time, he could heal Nagato's broken body to about seventy to eighty percent.
Sensing all this, Nagato narrowed his eyes without any extra movement, allowing Black Zetsu to continue.
When the healing was nearly complete, his body's natural recovery expelled the black receivers embedded in his back, letting them fall to the ground with a clatter. At that moment, someone rushed in.
It was Konan. Since Nagato had been gravely injured and crippled years ago, she had always been by his side. She had just been out on her usual patrol of Amegakure, interacting with the villagers as the "Angel," understanding their condition and needs.
In just this short time, something strange had appeared beside Nagato—and was even attached to him—shocking and terrifying Konan. She didn't even dare imagine what would have happened if an enemy had attacked Nagato in that period.

"What exactly are you? Why do you have attributes similar to the Rinnegan's abilities?"
As he spoke, Nagato exuded a sharp, intimidating aura—because in his view, the black receivers created with Yin–Yang Release were an exclusive ability of the Rinnegan, belonging only to its wielder. They were the power of a "god." Yet No. 2 Black Zetsu was something similar, which made Nagato treat him with utmost caution.
After all, at this point in time, Nagato truly believed himself to be a god, the second Sage of Six Paths. The version power scale was simply like that—Rinnegan abilities at this point were indeed overpowered.
Of course, ignoring the main world's transmigrators, in the No. 2 world, the Rinnegan was still something overpowered.

Yet now White Zetsu had been taken over by an unknown enemy, and even "Uchiha Madara" had been taken out—this shocked them deeply.

No. 2 Black Zetsu did not explain the true terror of the Otsutsuki—because to say that would require revealing too much.

After all, this implied that the Sage of Six Paths was not originally from the ninja world.
Still, No. 2 Black Zetsu maintained his "art of speaking," not saying outright whether the Sage of Six Paths was a native or not, only that the enemy was not from the ninja world, and that they shared the same origin as the Sage—possessing power equal to or greater than him. Although Nagato was the first to awaken the Rinnegan since the Sage, his strength was still no match for this outside enemy.
For now, they could still resist the enemy's subordinates—but once the enemy himself arrived, Nagato would inevitably be defeated. The enemy's goal was to seize all of the Sage's achievements, including the chakra system. In other words, once the enemy came, it would be the end of the entire ninja world.

At that time, all talk of peace or of making others understand pain would be meaningless—an enemy seeking to destroy everything would not grant the ninja world such things.
Well, to be precise, they would—because if the ninja world was destroyed, it would indeed be "peaceful."
This was something neither Nagato nor Konan could accept, leading them to think deeply, converse with No. 2 Black Zetsu extensively, and ultimately decide to cooperate with him and investigate further—while also accelerating the collection of Tailed Beasts.
Because No. 2 Black Zetsu had said that to fight this outside terror, they would need the power of all the Tailed Beasts—in other words, the Ten Tails.
No. 2 Black Zetsu also told Nagato that "Uchiha Madara's" true goal was to gather all nine Tailed Beasts, resurrect the Ten Tails, and seal it inside himself—becoming the Ten Tails' jinchuriki. In doing so, he would become the second Sage of Six Paths and could carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan, achieving peace.
However, with "Uchiha Madara" in trouble, No. 2 Black Zetsu's intention was for Nagato to become the Ten Tails' jinchuriki, gaining power equal to the Sage of Six Paths—thus having a chance to fight the outside terror.
Nagato neither confirmed nor denied this—he did not trust No. 2 Black Zetsu and would not reveal his true intentions, just as he had never directly responded to "Uchiha Madara" about carrying out the Eye of the Moon Plan. Nagato had his own ideas.
Still, if the terrifying enemy truly existed and was arriving soon, becoming the Ten Tails' jinchuriki would be the inevitable choice.

Nagato, however, did not want to hide. He decided to act immediately and capture the remaining Tailed Beasts quickly. If the enemy could arrive at any time, they had to finish creating the Ten Tails as soon as possible.
Now that his body was seventy to eighty percent recovered and no longer an obstacle, he naturally had to act fast.
But in the end, Nagato still hid—because No. 2 Black Zetsu's persuasion succeeded. He believed Nagato was not yet strong enough. Although he once thought Nagato was strong enough—and even needed to be weakened for easier control—now with the threat so close, Nagato's current strength was insufficient. So No. 2 Black Zetsu decided to give Nagato pre-battle enhancements.
The method of enhancement was the same as what the blackened Obito had received—fusing with a White Zetsu body!
With a White Zetsu body, Nagato could gain part of the God Tree's incredible regeneration and massive chakra reserves. Then, he could use the Rinnegan without restraint, fully exploiting its power.

And not long after they left, the elderly Jiraiya—accompanied by Minato Namikaze and an Uchiha Kei shadow clone—arrived in Amegakure, just after capturing the blackened Obito, Uchiha Itachi, and others. They had come to finish off the Akatsuki's final "remnants."
