Chapter 5 - "Rad’s Room"

Two Years Later, Present Day

Sami and his twin brother had returned to Hero Town after a long absence.

They had known Ron long before his first meeting with Carter — back when Hero Town was a very new place for Ron. Their return stirred memories for many, old friendships resurfacing as they reunited with family and familiar faces.

While Sami and Rad were reconnecting with the town, Ron was away.

He had been training under Dr. Thomas in his dimension, pushing himself to understand and control the powers that had begun to awaken within him. His time there had changed him — subtly, but undeniably.

When Ron finally returned to Hero Town, he quickly heard that Sami and his brother were back. Remembering their old connection, he decided to meet them before they left again

Ron contacted Carter.

"Have you seen where Sami's staying? I want to visit them before they leave," Ron said.

"Yeah, I was thinking the same," Carter replied. "Let's go this Friday."

"Alright. Friday it is."

Friday

Ron arrived at Carter's house.

From there, they took Carter's personal helicopter and flew toward the outskirts of Hero Town, where civilization gradually gave way to open land and ancient structures long forgotten by most.

As the helicopter moved through the sky, Ron leaned back in his seat.

"So… where exactly is their house?" he asked. "Big? Small? Haunted mansion vibes?"

Carter grinned. "It's… strange. According to records, it's the oldest house in the entire region. Our organization investigated it years ago — thought it might be dangerous or cursed. But they found nothing."

He paused, then added, "It's been empty for hundreds… maybe even thousands of years."

Ron raised an eyebrow. "That's wild. But if it was empty for that long, how did Sami end up getting it?"

"It used to be restricted," Carter explained. "No one was allowed near it. But a few years ago, the ban was lifted. People could visit — even buy it. Most stayed away because of the rumors. Then, out of nowhere, Sami purchased it and moved in with his twin."

Ron tilted his head. "Didn't he have more siblings?"

"Yeah," Carter nodded. "But those two have always been especially close."

The helicopter landed.

Ron and Carter stepped onto the ground and walked toward the house.

Sami and his twin, Rad, greeted them warmly at the entrance, smiles on their faces as old friends reunited.

But the moment Ron laid eyes on the house, something felt wrong.

A faint tension prickled through his body — as if an invisible force was tugging at him. His instincts screamed that this place was not ordinary.

As they approached the door, Ron suddenly felt a soft touch on his shoulder.

He turned.

Dream stood beside him.

Her form was faint, almost transparent, like a memory taking shape in the real world. No one else reacted — it was clear only Ron could see her.

"This is where your answers lie," she said softly. "About your past… about me… about us. Don't worry. Only you can see me."

As they stepped closer to the house, her figure became clearer.

She wore flowing white robes that covered her entirely. Her pale skin glowed faintly, and her radiant red eyes held a deep, ancient calm. Her hair shimmered with such brilliance that Ron couldn't even determine its color.

She smiled gently at him — then faded away.

Ron exhaled slowly, his mind racing.

They entered.

At first glance, the interior looked like a normal, old house — but Ron could feel it.

Something was alive here.

A subtle, pulsing energy flowed through the walls, floors, and air itself.

Sami led them from room to room, proudly showing them around. Strangely, the house seemed far larger inside than it appeared from the outside, its corridors stretching farther than they should have.

Finally, they reached Rad's room.

The instant Ron stepped inside, the atmosphere changed.

A powerful, oppressive aura crashed over him — dark, heavy, and ancient. It pressed against his senses like an invisible ocean.

No one else reacted.

To Carter, Sami, and Rad, the room was just a room.

But to Ron, it felt like standing before something older than the world itself.

He said nothing.

Later, they were shown their guest rooms. The day had been long, and night had fallen.

They decided to rest.

Past Midnight

Ron lay awake in his bed.

His thoughts kept returning to Rad's room.

The energy he had felt there wasn't just dark — it was ancient. As if something had been sealed, sleeping, or watching for centuries.

Then — a knock on his door.

"Come in," Ron said.

Carter stepped inside, his expression serious.

"Ron… you looked pale earlier," Carter said. "Especially when we went into Rad's room. Is something wrong?"

Ron hesitated for a moment, then sighed.

"I didn't want to say anything in front of them, but… there's something in that room. I felt a dark, mysterious energy. It was overwhelming."

Carter's expression hardened.

"Then we need to check it out," he said firmly. "Together."

Ron nodded.

Whatever was hidden in that house — it was no coincidence that Dream had led him here.

And whatever waited in Rad's room…

…was only the beginning.
