Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 Commercial Building Camp

What to do?

Lin Yi was filled with helplessness. He wanted to explore another survivor's camp, but now, he was unexpectedly trapped.

Currently, zombies are lunging toward him from behind, while in front, there's a horde of nearly a thousand zombies.

It's simply a dilemma!

"Grr!"

"Get lost!" Lin Yi cursed and kicked away a zombie that jumped down from the window.

He pulled out his sword and swiftly dealt with the "paratrooper" that fell from the sky.

Suddenly, not far ahead, the sound of dense automatic weapon fire erupted.

In the silent street, it was particularly abrupt.

Lin Yi's spirit instantly lifted.

As expected, the massive zombie horde began to be drawn toward the sound, and crazily rushed toward the north from where the gunfire came.

The street, once crowded with zombies, suddenly emptied, leaving Lin Yi with an opportunity.

He could seize this chance and decisively escape from this perilous place.

But Lin Yi hesitated inwardly. His goal was to find another survivor camp. What if the gunfire came from people in that camp...

"Should I take the risk and check it out, or just head back now?" Lin Yi waged an inner battle,

"Grr!" At this moment, another zombie silently approached, trying to bite him.

"Shut up, let me think!" Lin Yi, extremely irritated, kicked it away.

After pondering for a long time, he took out a Coin from his pocket and threw it hard into the air.

Heads or tails?

If it's heads, I'll go. If tails, I won't!

Damn, it's heads...

Lin Yi had recently been lazy, and hoped for tails so he could logically return to the Shelter.

But since fate decided this way, he gritted his teeth and kicked hard toward the zombie crowd.

It took less than ten minutes.

Lin Yi found the source of the gunfire.

A fierce battle was taking place around a 20-story Commercial Building.

Thousands of zombies surged like tides, repeatedly attacking the reinforced building, clawing, roaring.

Inside the building, dozens of assault rifles and machine guns were desperately resisting, gun barrels spewing tongues of flame, and bullets falling like raindrops into the zombie horde.

However, the noise of the battle acted like a giant magnet, attracting more zombies.

This undoubtedly created a vicious cycle.

"Roar!"

Suddenly, an unusually strong zombie roared out from the crowd.

It fiercely swung its paw; "Bang!" a metallic railing on the window was knocked off.

Immediately, two strangely shaped mutant zombies jumped in.

Screams of terror and increasingly desperate gunfire came from within the building.

Fortunately, a machine gun soon appeared at the window, unleashing powerful firepower that shot holes through several zombies' heads.

At the same time, someone quickly brought a metal plate, and a few people welded it over the broken window.

In the blink of an eye, the breach was repaired as good as new.

These people are quite professional!

Lin Yi watched all of this with amazement, admiring their proficient response to zombie attacks, clearly seasoned by countless battles.

He took a closer look and saw survivors rushing out of the building, wielding Baseball Bats, swords, and homemade Long Spears.

Facing the remaining zombies, they showed no fear and swiftly dealt with them.

After observing for a while, Lin Yi felt the timing was right and decided to try contacting them.

He stood up from behind the car, waved his sword, swiftly dispatched a few sluggish zombies, and headed toward the building.

A sharp-eyed member of the cleanup team noticed the lone Lin Yi and shouted alertly, "Stop! Who are you?"

Lin Yi straightforwardly said, "I intend to trade with your camp."

At this moment, a man who looked weathered by time came over.

He said suspiciously, "Trade? What makes you think you have something we need?"

Lin Yi smiled confidently, "Everyone has needs. Go get someone who can negotiate with me."

"Stay put here and don't play tricks!" The man yelled at his companion to keep a close eye on Lin Yi, the stranger.

Then, he ran off to discuss with their leader.

In less than three minutes, the man returned with a man in his forties with a scarred face.

The scarred man wore an eyepatch over his left eye, had a massive scar on the right side of his face, and exuded a fierce aura.

He glanced sidelong at Lin Yi, his tone filled with threat and ridicule, "Are you a merchant? You don't seem to have any goods on you. Are you here to sell your ass? Hehehe..."

Lin Yi didn't care about the man's disdain; he calmly and swiftly, like a magician,

took a cooked potato from his bag and tossed it casually to the man.

"Potato?" The scarred man was first stunned, then instinctively caught it.

Next, he suspiciously examined the potato meticulously.

Seeing this, his eyes widened in amazement!

What was going on?

In the apocalypse, with soil heavily polluted, how could he see such a fresh potato?

Could it be...!?

His mind raced with guesses as he squinted at Lin Yi again.

Lin Yi nodded earnestly, "My people have mastered Special Skills to not only grow vegetables but also purify water. And the vegetables we've cultivated are nutritious and even have some healing properties!"

The scarred man hesitantly bit into the potato and slowly chewed.

Tasting this, his eyes instantly lit up, filled with shock and disbelief.

The taste was like nothing he'd ever experienced in the apocalypse.

Even more surprising, his body aches from the recent battle faded considerably.

At this moment, the scarred man dared not underestimate Lin Yi!

He looked intently at Lin Yi, "Why should I trust that you'll trade such precious goods with us?"

Lin Yi replied calmly, "An hour later, I'll bring 90 pounds of potatoes, and you can check their quality yourself."

"Alright! What do you want in exchange?"

"Survivor Coin, one pound of potatoes for two and a half Coins."

The scarred man thought for a moment and said, "That's a particular demand. If your potatoes are of this quality, we can make this deal."

"Deal." Lin Yi said crisply, waved his hand, and turned to leave.

Watching Lin Yi's departing figure, the seasoned man approached the scarred man and asked, "Commander, do you really believe him?"

"If what he says is true... then it would be a timely rain for us. You know the tough situation we're facing." The scarred man replied gravely.

After leaving the Commercial Building, Lin Yi cautiously watched out for zombies while searching for a secure entry point to the Shelter.

After walking for about five minutes and chopping off the heads of three zombies, he finally found a suitable residential building.

Just as he entered the residential building, a sudden thought flashed in Lin Yi's mind.

He turned back, grabbed a zombie's corpse, and brought it back to the Shelter.

Afterward, Lin Yi arrived at the mysterious pit and without hesitation threw the zombie body in.
