Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 Building a Warehouse

In the shelter.

As soon as Lin Yi returned, Chen Youyou, like a happy little deer, ran towards him.

She excitedly yelled, "Boss! I heard you made a ton of money, right?"

Lin Yi slightly raised his chin, boasting with the pride unique to the head of a household, "Of course, I'm swimming in wealth now!"

"That's great! Here's a list of items our shelter needs to procure." Chen Youyou said, handing a notepad to Lin Yi, then ran off with a giggle.

Lin Yi watched Chen Youyou's disappearing figure, then looked down at the list in his hand, unable to resist shaking his head with a light laugh.

Whether it's the apocalypse or not, women seem to have an innate knack for getting money out of men's pockets, haha.

However, he did promise to take care of these girls...

Lin Yi sat down in front of the laptop and started reviewing the list written by Chen Youyou.

Food warehouse, supplies warehouse, personal housing, public bathroom, solar panels...

Every item on the list was well-founded and carefully prioritized by urgency and importance.

After reading the list, Lin Yi opened the store app and clicked into the building options.

As the shelter's level upgraded, the variety of building items significantly increased.

[Wooden Warehouse]

Capacity: 5000 square feet

- The wooden warehouse can store anything except liquids and crops. It also cannot store human or animal corpses. Once placed, the warehouse needs to be divided into zones.

- Special feature: Allows items to be stored or retrieved from the warehouse via mental commands.

- Price: 400 coins

Lin Yi rubbed his chin, feeling a little pained.

Although the price was ridiculously high, thankfully, items could be stored directly in the warehouse via thought, just like a cellar.

After some weighing, Lin Yi gritted his teeth and clicked to purchase.

In an instant, the trees in the designated area seemed to be sucked into the ground by an invisible force.

In the blink of an eye, a gigantic wooden warehouse rose up!

[Please divide the interior warehouse areas]

Each area can be used to store specific types of items. When you teleport items to the warehouse, they will automatically be sent to the corresponding area.

[The warehouse can store food, but only canned or packaged food]

[You can pay 100 coins at any time to change the storage type within the warehouse area]

Seeing the last note, Lin Yi couldn't help but twitch his mouth.

This shelter is simply a "money black hole," costing money for everything, even changing a storage type.

After pondering for a moment, Lin Yi divided the warehouse into five large areas, beginning to set specific storage types.

One area for food;

One area for chemicals;

One area for appliances and electronics;

Half an area for mechanical parts;

Half an area for clothes, scraps of cloth, and similar items;

The final area, for storing all other miscellaneous items.

Division complete.

Lin Yi closed his eyes, focusing all his attention, letting his consciousness be like an invisible net, covering all the items in the camp.

In the blink of an eye, all these items disappeared, sorted into the corresponding areas of the warehouse.

At this moment, the originally cluttered and slightly chaotic shelter suddenly became empty.

Only tents, chairs, and some scattered items remained.

Not far away, Chen Youyou shouted, "Boss! Did something happen?"

"Everyone, come here!" Lin Yi clapped his hands.

Soon, all the residents of the shelter gathered in front of him.

"Wow, a warehouse!" the red-haired girl Sylvie exclaimed in surprise.

"It cost me a whole 400 coins..."

"That's really expensive!"

"Of course, I'm heartbroken over it."

Martha stepped forward, smiling as she gently massaged Lin Yi's lat muscles.

She comforted, "Don't worry, boss! We'll harvest plenty of potatoes tomorrow, and it'll take you a while to sell them all!"

"There's even a computer in here!" a girl named Annie shouted excitedly inside the warehouse, "And a printer too!"

No sooner had she spoken than everyone rushed into the warehouse.

Inside the warehouse, aside from the main item storage areas, there was a small lounge.

It had a reasonably comfortable sofa, several bookshelves, a desk with a computer and an office chair, and an antiquated-looking old printer.

Annie fiddled with the desk a bit, sighed disappointedly, "The mouse doesn't work, and the computer is broken!"

"Of course, you can't use them—currently, only I have permission to use them." Lin Yi laughed, sitting in front of the computer.

On the computer desktop, there was an icon named "1C-List." He clicked on it lightly, and the printer started to hum.

After a long five minutes, the printer spat out dozens of 8*12 papers, detailing the quantities and specifications of all items in the warehouse.

Lin Yi let the girls familiarize themselves inside the warehouse while he returned to the laptop outside, carefully browsing all the goods in the store.

Residential buildings:

Small wooden single room, price 200 coins

Small wooden double room, price 300 coins

.....

With a bathroom, bathtub, and shower equipment... an additional 400 coins required!?

Power facilities... boiler room... public bathroom... public bathhouse...

Looking at the screen at those outrageously high prices, Lin Yi just felt his head spinning.

Coins are simply not enough!

To build these facilities, he'll have to wait a few days to complete transactions with the commercial building and the Sacred Heart Cathedral before having enough funds for construction.

Watching the residents come out of the warehouse one after another, Lin Yi gestured for them to gather around.

"I'm planning to build double wooden houses in the next few days. You guys discuss where to build them and who you want to live with."

"Yay!" Instantly, the girls cheered, overjoyed.

Annie was so excited that she jumped up, shouting, "That's awesome! I've had enough of sleeping in tents!"

She's nineteen this year, one of the shelter's lively and cheerful girls. Her personality is like the sunshine of Paris, France—passionate and full of vitality.

When happy, she'll laugh out loud without reservations; when excited, she'll gesticulate wildly.

And her curvaceous figure was now catching the attention of several of the male residents, making her the center of everyone's focus.

"Boss, who will be your roommate?" Annie asked expectantly.

Lin Yi replied straightforwardly, "I want my own private room."

"That's no fun..." Annie muttered softly.

Lin Yi teased her, "What, did you want to room with me?"

"I... um... not really!" Annie stammered, blushing.

Lin Yi grinned, teasing further, "No worries, I don't like living with little kids anyway."

Annie, upon hearing this, was immediately a bit upset, pouting her lips.

But after a while, she was again chattering with her peers about what to have for dinner.

Lin Yi timely reminded them, "Eat more carbohydrates; tomorrow we have four small fields and two medium fields to harvest, and afterwards, we'll need to plow and sow again."

"Boss—"

"You're bad!"

In an instant, the girls playfully faked annoyance, giggling as they swarmed towards Lin Yi.
