Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 Excited Scar-faced Leader

Lin Yi followed the officer and quickly entered the camp within the Commercial Building.

The place was bustling with noise, and the air was filled with a sense of tension and busyness.

They went straight to the fifth floor, in front of a room guarded heavily by soldiers.

Pushing the door open, what came into view was a spacious sofa and table inside, with a crumpled map of Paris City spread on the table.

By the window was a small table with a handgun on it and an almost empty bottle of liquor.

The Scar-faced Leader was sitting on the sofa, and when he saw Lin Yi enter the room, he immediately showed an enthusiastic smile.

He strode forward to shake hands with Lin Yi, "You finally made it, I thought you might have run into some trouble?"

When Lin Yi heard this, his tone was as if he meant that if Lin Yi just hinted at having a grudge with someone, he would immediately rally people to help him out.

"Here are the Survivor Coins for the 90 pounds of potatoes purchased last time, count them if you like." The Scar-faced Leader pulled out a bag, handing it to Lin Yi.

Lin Yi took it, without even counting, and directly put the Coin bag into his backpack.

Before heading to the Sacred Heart Cathedral, he had left 90 pounds of potatoes at this camp, letting them taste and experience first before paying.

It seemed that by now, they had fully realized the value of the potatoes.

Just as expected!

After asking Lin Yi to sit down, the Scar-faced Leader got straight to the point, "We checked your potatoes, and we're very satisfied! We want to buy more, as much as possible!"

Lin Yi pretended to think for a while, putting on a slightly reckless look, "Next time, let's trade one ton——"

"One ton? Can it be soon?!" The Scar-faced Leader interrupted Lin Yi, clearly very excited, as if the potatoes were his lifeline.

From previous trades with other camps, Lin Yi had developed his own insights for trading with camps.

First trade a small amount of 90 pounds, let the other party benefit from it, then increase to one ton, and later gradually raise it to three tons.

During the trade, two conditions must be followed:

One, no form of tracking is permitted;

Two, he selects the location to place the goods, then notifies the other party to send someone to pick it up, and finally settle the account.

Additionally, do not ask him why he can grow fresh potatoes or food.

If asked — I have an underling who can grow anywhere and gives vegetables special effects.

Lin Yi informed the Scar-faced Leader of the trade method, to his surprise, the other party fully agreed.

"I really appreciate this way of trading!" he said with a smile, but there was a menacing glint in his eyes, "if anyone tries to sabotage our cooperation, like tracking you, you can tell me..."

He didn't finish the sentence, but from his grim expression, anyone could guess his ruthless methods.

"I'm a soldier by background, you can call me Hubert, or Old Bell Leader." Scar-faced Leader Old Bell enthusiastically extended an invitation, "Haha! We have a gathering tonight, want to come for a drink!"

Lin Yi felt regretful about the invitation.

He's been busy building the Shelter these days.

If the work in the fields becomes overwhelming, he might even have to get down and work himself.

Therefore, he could only politely decline the offer.

After leaving the Commercial Building camp.

Lin Yi began looking for a secluded place nearby to return to the Shelter.

After clearing a small residence and dealing with a few wandering zombies, Lin Yi suddenly felt a surge of power within his body.

He had finally leveled up!

A system prompt sounded in his mind:

[Congratulations! You've reached level 5, earning 2 Attribute Points and 1 Skill Point!]

Skill Points!?

Lin Yi was a bit excited and immediately planned to use the Skill Point to upgrade the Shelter.

But what he did not expect was the system's ruthless prompt in return:

[Shelter is a unique skill, cannot be upgraded!]

"Isn't this putting the cart before the horse? Where the hell am I supposed to get more skills?" Lin Yi swore loudly.

The Shelter deducted a hefty fee for each use, and the system often taunted him sarcastically.

Now it even comes up with such an unreasonable rule, how could he not be furious.

Having no choice, Lin Yi could only assign the Attribute Points to Power.

Then, he teleported back to the Shelter.

At this moment, all "employees" were still busy in the fields, but the potatoes had been completely harvested, and they were planting the next crop.

Lin Yi went to the space for piling potatoes, silently gave a command, and instantly, these potatoes were transported to the cellar.

After counting, there were a total of five and a half tons of potatoes!

"The boss is back!" The girls saw Lin Yi and excitedly shouted, their once tired faces now glowed with energy.

"No slacking! Once you finish all the work, we'll give you a day off, and then build a house!"

"Yes, Boss!" Motivated by Lin Yi's encouragement, everyone worked noticeably faster.

In just one hour, all the work was completed.

Although everyone was more exhausted than usual, drenched in sweat and fatigue, they all laughed joyously.

After all, what's next are the tasks of selling potatoes and awarding the promised rewards to them.

The next day, early morning.

The entire Shelter was unusually quiet, as everyone was still asleep due to the day off.

Lin Yi got up early, and after quickly brushing his teeth and washing up, he watered all the fields.

Then he had a simple breakfast and headed back to the Commercial Building camp.

Once in the fifth-floor office, Lin Yi tossed a bag to the Scar-faced Leader: "Here you go."

The other party instinctively caught it, and upon opening it, found an address and a key inside: "What's this?"

"There's one ton of potatoes in there."

"Really?! You delivered in one day?! I don't even know how to thank you!" The old soldier grinned, his scars appearing even more terrifying due to his smile.

With this food, he could accomplish a lot!

But he still asked expectantly, "Can you deliver the same amount, or more, in three days?"

"Three tons, how about that?"

"Three tons?! You're really my good brother!" The Scar-faced Leader's face turned red with excitement, even to the point of sweating.

Lin Yi felt puzzled, given the number of people in their camp, logically, they shouldn't use up that much food, so why did they need to buy so much?

But following the rule of not asking about business details, he didn't voice his doubts.

Unexpectedly, the Scar-faced Leader took the initiative to clear up his confusion.

"I'll be honest with you; I plan to use your potatoes to recruit some small groups. Word has it that a few large gangs have already started to stir..."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yi immediately understood.

Among all camps, the Louvre had the advantage of many Weapons, while the Sacred Heart Cathedral had many Professionals, and both these camps had substantial populations.

In comparison, the Commercial Building had more elite soldiers, but population was its weak point.

It was said that after the apocalypse, several gangs rapidly rose in Paris, although Lin Yi never heard of these gangs back when he was a boss, but they have now formed scales.

Gangs wanting to expand quickly resorted to the most direct means: looting.

Lin Yi was all too familiar with this.

However, he's now a businessman, with a group of not very combat-capable underlings to support, so he could only temporarily put aside any thoughts of fighting and killing.

Quickly, the Scar-faced Leader took a call.

It was likely his underlings informing him, after transporting the potatoes back to the camp and weighing them, of the situation.

After hanging up, the Scar-faced Leader's smile grew even warmer, clearly very satisfied with this transaction.

"Here's 5000 Coins." He pulled out a Coin bag, handing it to Lin Yi, then asked another question—

"Can you grow other crops too?"
