Chapter 24 - I know my son pretty well

Bathed in the soft afternoon light, a greenhouse was occupied with servants running and bringing trays filled with treats and tea.

The place was surrounded by fragrant herbs, and through the glass, the sun reached the well-maintained, ready-to-bloom orchids several other flowers. Ms. Hilman was having tea, peacefully waiting for a person to arrive. She was already feeling a little annoyed by his delay.

"When is he supposed to arrive?" she asked, placing the cup of tea on the plate while checking the hour on her delicate golden watch. "He's late."

Little did she know, at that very moment, someone was already outside the greenhouse. His quick steps could be heard and his heavy breathing was notorious.

When he arrived at the entrance, resting his hands on his knees, he looked anxiously at his phone. 'On time!' he thought, gasping for air.

"You're late," Ms. Hilman remarked, turning her head away, not wanting to meet his gaze.
