Chapter 9 - Superheroes In Another World-1

Falling!

That was the only word Spark managed to register in his muddled mind…

Falling!

Once more it echoed, this time snapping him out his daze, only to be met with a scorching dry wind whipping his body, generating a scalding amount of heat.

"I'm falling…" he finally realized, but by this time a faint echo of metal and screams could be heard. Following this sound, his nostrils were assaulted with a hot wind of blood, sweat, and metal.

"Wait! What the hell!" he hollered frantically. Spark finally registered there was oxygen, and he wasn't breathing, as he began taking in greedy amounts of the pungent air.

On finally getting enough oxygen to his brain, his mind cleared up, and he instinctively began absorbing the heat generated from the friction of his fall, which he immediately outputted into flight.

Stabilizing himself in the air, only then did the details of his surroundings rush in…

First of all, the sky had three suns, which definitely removed the option of this place being Earth.

Where was he? He wondered… because he had never heard of such a planet. Could it be that this planet wasn't in their solar system?

"Or worse, it might be outside the Milky Way Galaxy," he mused. Another strange fact he discovered was that though there were three suns above, only one bathed him with energy.

Meaning only one sun was casting its brilliance on the area he was at, despite the fact that there were three.

Before he could ponder more on this fact, the faint sound of battle once more echoed in his ears. Gazing at the sea of clouds beneath his feet, he wondered, "Could there be life forms surviving under such heat?"

Curious, he descended rapidly, his heart simmering with feelings of curiosity and cautiousness.

Whoosh!

Piercing through the final veil of clouds, his vision cleared. He was first of all met with the unfiltered torrent of noise.

Incoherent screams and chants buzzed in his ears—a symphony of metal and devastating shockwaves accompanied them, which disoriented Spark for a split second as heightened senses were overwhelmed.

A thick, fetid, and unfiltered stench of blood, sweat, and decaying flesh rode the wind, creeping into his lungs.

It smelt so bad, his eyes watered for a bit.

"Oh God! I can't help but worry for Starlight," he thought in worry.

Starlight had a case of OCD, though it wasn't serious. But still, a messy situation like this could make her go out of her mind.

As though in cue with his thoughts, a familiar massive brilliance of light exploded from the corner of his vision.

"Yep, that's her… I feel sorry for her opponents."

Yes, this was because in a situation like this, Starlight would go into a frenzy, obliterating every unclean thing in her sight.

Looking at the bloodstained battlefield, filled with corpses and bloodied warriors, he could safely say after her purge, she would be filled with guilt because of the mass slaughter she would commit.

For a brief moment, Spark couldn't help but fall into a brief fantasy. He was already attracted to her in the first place—imagine adding slaughter.

The wonderful picture of her running amok, blood-drenched hair, ruthless calculating eyes, her ripping men twice her size to shreds with her bare hands… "Here I was thinking she couldn't get any more attractive~" he thought with a foolish smile on his face.

"Earth to Spark! Earth to Spark," he suddenly chanted while clapping his cheeks, waking himself out of his daydream.

Shaking his head, his eyes wandered. One of the interesting facts he noticed was that the warriors fighting were humans—or at least had the same physical qualities as humans.

And Spark noticed something that made his expression go weird: all of them were dressed in Chinese Daoist robes, which were divided in black and white.

There were other things—like some were gliding on swords, some were directing their swords telepathically, some performing hand seals.

Spark couldn't believe his eyes… "Holy shit! Am I in a Xianxia-style world!"

He couldn't help but examine his surroundings more fervently, and the more he saw, the more he was sure… "Oh my God! I can't believe this is happening!" Spark was absolutely excited.

Back on Earth, apart from finding/hunting villains and slaughtering them, the only other hobby Spark had was reading webnovels.

In fact, he was borderline addicted to webnovels, and his favorite genre was the cultivation genre.

He loved their chaotic world-building and story progression. And another thing he loved the most that was common in all Xianxia novels was the demonic path cultivators—also known as the unorthodox path.

He was most intrigued by the concept of a world filled with countless—or even an unending amount—of vile cultivators, committing all sorts of heinous sins and blood sacrifices, all there waiting for him to come and deliver his bloody, depraved justice.

Spark was so excited he couldn't help but grin widely, his eyes focusing on the individuals below dressed in black robes fighting against those in white. His breathing quickened.

"Oh Father, you should have told me what was here, and I would have stepped through the portal willingly."

...

Countless light-years away, on a blue planet, Gravon—who had just rounded up his remaining agents, planning to give the civilians some cooked-up story—sneezed suddenly.

Rubbing his nose, he wondered, "My nose is itchy… is someone thinking of me?"

...

Back on the planet where Spark and Co. had just arrived…

Spark was just about to make his move and go down, but suddenly someone came in from nowhere and assisted him.

Pow!

A resonating crisp sound rang out!

A figure, which seemed to have moved so fast it bordered on teleportation, appeared beside Spark and delivered a bone-crunching slap to the face, flinging him straight into the battle below.

Boom!!!

Spark landed heavily, causing a mini crater. The shockwave from his impact killed everything in his surroundings and flung away everything that was further.

Arrrgh!!!

Spark screamed in pain and anger, as all seven of his orifices bled, his pale skin cracked.

Spark—who had practiced his input ability to an almost godly level, where he could immediately absorb all energy on impact instinctively, even in his sleep—never once imagined that he would be met with a form of energy that even he couldn't absorb.

The moment he tried absorbing the force from the slap, his entire body was thrown into chaos as the energy ran amok, destroying his innards incessantly.

And although he didn't know what it was, he could already guess that—

This was Qi!
