Boom!!!
Void's figure pierced through the air. The moment his feet touched the ground, he immediately plunged his arms into the hard rock terrain to disperse the overwhelming momentum.
Face painted in displeasure, he gazed at his opponent. It was a man clothed in white, and somehow he seemed stronger than the rest he had faced so far.
He frowned and glanced around. Around him were other villains and even heroes facing similarly powerful foes. "This is going to be a pain," he lamented.
Just like Spark, Void also had a very powerful ability that hindered him from working well with groups. But unlike Spark's, which was overwhelmingly destructive, his was a lot more docile. So unlike Spark, he had the privilege of familiarizing himself and even mastering his abilities.
His ability was called Null and Void. It was a dual-acting ability like Spark's. The first, Null, granted him the ability to disperse or nullify the energy of any attack or force acting on him.
As for the second, Void, it gave him the ability to create a Void Domain. Within this domain, one couldn't command supernatural abilities and would be rendered mortal; meanwhile, Void would get stronger the longer he spent within the domain.
As powerful and useful as this ability was, it was very limiting in this situation. Void knew that the moment he cast the domain, not only his opponent but the others fighting within the next 500-meter radius would also be affected.
This left him in quite a pinch, as only using Null didn't seem to be working for whoever this freak was. He needed the buff from his domain if he was going to get a clean victory.
"This is going to be a very long, stressful encounter…" he moaned in displeasure. Quickly gathering his bearings, he parried the incoming attack from his opponent.
Retaliating with a heavy punch to the chest, followed by a bone-crushing uppercut.
Bam!
But unfortunately, his attack didn't seem to do much, as the barely fazed cultivator delivered a devastating punch to the ribs, once more flinging Void out of sight as his wail of pain echoed, "Yep! This is going to be an excruciatingly long battle!"
On the other side of the battlefield, not that far from Void, Velocity was also struggling with his opponent.
His blurry figure weaved through his opponent's rapid-fire attacks as he also delivered some punches in between his maneuvers, but he could feel that they weren't doing much damage.
Even his lightning-coated punches seemed to be doing little to no harm to his opponent.
Frustration set in. He couldn't continue this way. He had to be done with this guy quickly and go find Starlight—he didn't have any time to waste.
Gritting his teeth, he began his resolution. He began a rapid, reckless offense—a seemingly mindless charge toward his opponent. Or was it? As every strike he released seemed to target his opponent's blind spot directly.
"If one punch doesn't work, then how about ten? If that isn't still enough, how about a hundred? Let's see who breaks first—your skin or my fists."
Basically, the same scene could be seen played out all across the battlefield as both heroes and villains gave their all. Their bloodied fists hungered for their opponents' demise. Both heroes and villains had their wills aligned.
But unlike them, their opponents had their minds full of something else—and that was shock!
They were all astounded at what they were seeing. Not only them—even their elders above seemed to be in shock as a single thought ran across their minds: "This can't be real. There is practically no energy in their attacks. No Qi! No spirit energy! No essence! Just pure brute force, elemental prowess, and other weird abilities… just how could this be?"
The world of Tianxue Jingjie was a world of miracles and wonders—a realm of impossibility. But even at that, this realm still had its laws. Just as Earth is governed by the laws of physics, gravity, and the like…
Tianxue Jingjie was also governed by its laws. Humans were inherently weak creatures; only with cultivation could they grow stronger—whether it be by cultivating Qi like them or some other forces like those of the mortal realm. It was still a fact that one had to cultivate to get stronger.
But right here before their eyes, that very law was being shattered, as these strangers didn't seem to be restrained by the norms of their world.
"Freaks! That's what they are—freaks, I tell you!" an elder in white, observing from above, accused hysterically.
The others nodded subconsciously in agreement, their eyes still glued to the battle below.
Some elders even sneakily began contacting their sect masters, both demonic and righteous alike.
This was huge! Mortals putting up a fight against cultivators was unheard of. But right here in front of them, it was happening—and not even against regular cultivators at that. These were foundation-building realm experts.
Looking closely, the cultivators seemed to be losing… They'd be damned if their sect masters didn't hear of this.
Some elders couldn't help but wonder—what if these freaks could be allowed to cultivate? If they were this frightful now, what about then?
The mere thought of this sent chills up their spines.
They had to know where these strangers came from and if they were affiliated with any other sects or organizations.
The elders glanced among themselves, their eyes glinting with a shade of ruthlessness.
And if they weren't affiliated with anyone, they could live… but if they were? Hehehehe, let's just say such a sharp weapon was better disposed of than left in another's hands.
This was just how the world of cultivation works—the weak get preyed on by the strong. Even the righteous path followed these same brutal rules…
A few seconds after they activated the various communication talismans, the battlefield froze, all beings unable to move.
And suddenly the sky parted, the atmosphere shifted, and the winds howled…
The sect masters had arrived.
