Tianxue Jingjie
was a realm that consisted of various races and species, and each of these myriad races had different progression paths which they took to power.
For example, the god race practiced divine energy, the phoenix race practiced core flame energy, and the dragon race practiced sea essence.
Among the myriad races, only the humans had various paths to take toward power and immortality. The talented among them cultivated Qi and spirit energy. The untalented had to settle for martial arts or essence weaves.
These were the four paths available to the human race, but most of the time, human powerhouses mostly originated from Qi cultivators or spirit masters—also known as immortals. This was due to the difficulty of killing a master in these arts.
As for the other two—martial artists and essence weavers—they were only so-so; they were branded as mortals by the other two.
And today, 15 immortals of the tribulation realm had made an appearance…
The atmosphere stilled, and auspicious clouds of violet bloomed to welcome the masters of the righteous path, and those of red welcomed the demonic path masters.
Even the heavens themselves recognized these powerful and elusive figures…
Of the righteous path, there were:
Han Tian, master of the Heaven-Splitting Mountain
Leng Jun, master of the Immortal Pill Valley
Tian Wuxi, master of the Divine Thunder Pavilion
Lin Bin, master of the Beggars Congress
Meng Yao, mistress of Winter Edge Temple
Si Xun, master of the Flowing Light Sect
Ao Jun, master of the Undying Immemorial Body Sect
Wu Ming, master of the Lightning Phantasm Sect
Then of the demonic path were:
Cao Mao, master of the Blood Pool Sect
Man Li, mistress of the Cursed Shadow Temple
Han Mu, master of Nether Gate
Li Yunxiao, lord of the Myriad Gu Sect
Gu Yunfei, mistress of the Heavenly Slaughter Pavilion
Zhao Cai'er, mistress of the Fiendish Immortal Palace
Zhang Yi, master of Devil's Thorn Valley
Such was the intimidating lineup that appeared on the battlefield. Their figures were vague and obscure, as they all looked illusory—but from their presence alone, determining their identity wasn't hard.
The distinct and unique overbearing aura each carried weighed heavily on the air, causing some to kneel—face-planting into the filthy, bloody soil of the surroundings—while the slightly stronger knelt with a knee.
"It seems even you vile scums also made an appearance," and of course, it was Tian Wuxi who spoke, referring to the demonic path masters. Only a master could insult a master; anyone else would meet a gruesome death.
"At least we are vile and we show it, unlike some who are rotten and filthy but put up an appearance," Man Li viciously rebutted.
"Y-you bitch—" Tian Wuxi stuttered in fury, but was interrupted mid-way.
"Alright, enough. Let's not embarrass ourselves in front of juniors, and let's sort out what we came here for," Sect Master Si Xun quickly mediated, stroking his flowing white beard as he spoke.
"Hmph!" Tian Wuxi snorted. He waved his sleeves casually, causing 19 figures to fly out uncontrollably from the crowd below.
"So these are the strangers who caused little Fei to call me out of seclusion?" Han Mu's raspy voice questioned.
Without a doubt, the figures floating helplessly in front of these beings were none other than our dear heroes and villains. They stood powerless mid-air like a bunch of criminals undergoing inspection. They weren't even given the privilege to tremble in terror—their minds clouded in fear and disbelief.
How could there be people this strong?
Is this how they would meet death?
Such powers… aren't they gods?
All sorts of questions flitted through each individual's mind. Only one among them saw things differently—in fact, he was even excited!
'Oh my god! This confirms it—this is definitely a Xianxia world!' Spark screamed internally, excitement intoxicating his mind. Right now, he was like a teenager who had just met his celebrity crush.
These must be peak-level masters! Oh my god, to think I would see legendary sect masters in my lifetime… I suddenly feel so fulfilled, he sighed joyfully.
Unfortunately, he couldn't bask in excitement much longer, as one of the masters finally started questioning.
"Speak. Where did you all come from, and which powers are you affiliated with?" Sect Master Han Tian's stoic voice boomed in their ears.
Following his question, Adamant quickly felt he was immediately given the right to speak. It was unknown why he was chosen—they probably knew he was the eldest here.
He grimaced. What could he say? How should he start? Either way, he had to speak quickly. He had a feeling disobeying such powerful beings wouldn't end well for him… Once more, he used every curse word he could think of, cursing Gravon, the source of their miserable plight.
He quickly mustered courage and answered as sincerely as possible. If they didn't believe him, at least he would know he tried.
Adamant recounted the events leading to their banishment in as much detail as possible, mostly emphasizing the fact that they were all pushed into this dimension against their will.
The masters glanced at each other, their eyes carrying shock—and not the slightest hint of disbelief.
"Could they be from 'that' place?" Mistress Zhang Cai'er spoke, her voice tinged with longing.
"They are definitely from there… no wonder they are so powerful even as mortals," Master Cao Mao affirmed.
Pondering briefly, Master Han Tian questioned once more, "Do you know how to return to your realm, or is the portal still open?"
This time, they were all permitted to speak, to which they replied without hesitation, "No."
"The rift closed before my very eyes," Spark added.
The sect masters were all visibly disappointed by this response.
"Since they are from 'that' realm, we should just take them as disciples… they would definitely be cultivation geniuses," Tian Wuxi suggested.
Surprisingly, Man Li was the one who supported his suggestion. "Yes, I agree. This could be a chance for our various sects to rise higher."
All the masters nodded in agreement. It was indeed a good idea. They were this strong without cultivation—if they were successfully cultivated, they would be monsters of cultivation…
Just as they were having this thought, a golden cloud drifted into sight from the horizon, as a soothing and refreshing presence was felt.
"You guys are certainly not planning to share such goodies without me, are you?"
High-level Spirit Masters had arrived!
