Chapter 1 - Prologue

You know that feeling when it seems like you made the wrong choice? Like you were just supposed to be at a store buying Piattos, but somehow you're already here—standing in front of the gates of the smartest people in the whole country?

That's what happened to me. Totally legit.

Hi, by the way, I'm Yelliana Verounea Donque.

And I have no idea what kind of madness entered my life, but one day, I suddenly found myself standing in front of Brilliance Academy. Yes, that school that looks like it came straight out of a fantasy movie. Golden gates, buildings that look like they belong in Hogwarts, and students who seem like they carry their thesis around even during recess.

And me? I only brought my stupidity as lunch.

So, how did I end up here?

Well… there's this grandma. Not my grandma, but I helped her once on my way home from school—she had tripped. She said I was so kind, and next thing I knew, she became my sponsor. I was shocked, seriously. Turns out, she's rich! She told me, "You remind me of my grandchild." Next thing I know—boom. Full scholarship. No exam. Straight into the academy!

Everyone says I must be a genius to get in that easily.

Some even say I can supposedly memorize the entire periodic table with my eyes closed. There's even a rumor that I'm the "Next-Level Brainiac" the school personally invited because I'm so smart, it would be a waste if I went anywhere else.

But the truth? I am not. I even sometimes get confused when using a calculator.

Worse? I had no choice. My brother already accepted the offer.

"Yeli, don't waste this. It's a big opportunity for you," he said—complete with those pleading puppy eyes.

And since he's the only family I have, I couldn't say no.

So here I am. Entering the world of geniuses while the only skill I brought is my ability to act cute whenever the professors call on me during recitations.

They all think I'm a genius.

But the truth? I'm actually a legend...

…in being confused.
