Chapter 286 - Chapter 286 – A Joyful Revelation

Even though it wasn't a long distance, Kawaki deliberately took his time walking with Tsunade.

By the time they reached the entrance of the Senju estate, he still felt like prolonging the moment a little longer.

"We're already here, huh?"

Kawaki couldn't help but mutter as he stared at the large gate before them.

"How about next time you just take a megaphone and shout it on the streets?"

Tsunade shot him a look. Such a child.

Did he really think she couldn't see right through his childish act?

"You actually have a point."

Kawaki's eyes lit up instantly. Actually, that wasn't a bad idea at all.

"Next time for sure."

"I'll be sure to do that."

"Sure, whatever."

"You aren't embarrassed doing that, but I am."

Tsunade lightly kicked Kawaki's leg, urging him to go inside already.

The two entered the mansion and hadn't even walked far when they spotted Nawaki and Misaki getting ready to head out.

Kushina had been taken somewhere by Dai for an Anbu mission.

"Sister… Brother-in-law…"

Nawaki and Misaki immediately let go of each other's hands.

Even though everyone knew their relationship, they still felt a bit shy about showing affection openly.

"Headed out somewhere?"

Tsunade looked at Misaki, her heart full of approval.

She looked just like how I did as a girl. How did this punk Nawaki manage to land someone like her?

"There's no Anbu duty today, so I wanted to take Misaki out shopping."

Nawaki had finally decided to open his wallet—for Misaki's sake, buying her nice clothes.

"Oh, then go ahead."

"I'm going to find Grandma."

Tsunade made no move to stop them. Eventually, Nawaki would find out anyway.

It didn't matter whether or not she said it aloud.

"Sister Tsunade, we're not in a rush."

"She's in her bedroom. I'll go get Grandma."

Misaki immediately stopped what she was doing and went to get Mito.

"Misaki's really great."

Kawaki praised.

"No kidding."

Nawaki slightly raised his chin, looking extremely proud.

That's gonna be my future wife!

"She isn't even worth being paired with you."

Tsunade rolled her eyes at Nawaki's smugness and flicked her finger against his forehead.

"You really are my sister…"

Nawaki muttered under his breath, while Kawaki burst into laughter.

The three headed toward the living room and had barely sat down when Mito appeared, being helped along by Misaki.

Age was definitely catching up with her.

Even though she still looked youthful, her body weakened day by day, and she could feel it clearly herself.

"So why the visit today? What brings you two here to see me?"

Grandma Mito settled into the main seat, smiling warmly.

"There's great news we want to share with you, Grandma."

Before Tsunade could speak, Kawaki eagerly stepped forward and took Mito's hand.

Everyone accepted the gesture naturally.

"What kind of good news? Hurry up and tell me!"

Mito chuckled excitedly, glancing between Kawaki and Tsunade. She seemed to have a hunch.

"Tsunade is pregnant—you're going to be a great-grandma."

Tsunade didn't try to steal the spotlight, watching as Kawaki's voice rose with excitement.

"Sis! Seriously?!"

Nawaki blurted out in shock—so he was going to be an uncle himself!

"Of course it's real."

"Do you think I'd joke about something like this?"

Kawaki glared at Nawaki. This kid really didn't know how to choose his words.

"Great."

Nawaki didn't even look at Kawaki, only hearing the word "really."

He was so excited he couldn't find words, just standing there stunned.

Misaki, however, remained composed, though her smile had grown even warmer.

"Is that so?"

"This truly is incredible news."

"Come here, let Grandma have a look."

Mito reacted a bit slowly.

After speaking, she hurried past Kawaki and stood beside Tsunade.

She gently took Tsunade's wrist, and a warm current flowed through Tsunade's body from that touch.

"It's still weak, but there's no mistake about it."

"I've been hoping for this day for a long time."

"Grandma's happy today—come over for dinner tonight."

Once she removed her hands, Mito clearly looked genuinely joyful.

What more could someone her age wish for than to see all her children and grandchildren thriving?

Everything Hashirama hadn't seen, she'd seen on his behalf.

Once she saw Hashirama again, she'd tell him all about it.

"Alright, no problem."

Kawaki agreed without hesitation.

Now that he thought about it, he seldom shared meals with the Senju family.

"Tsunade, now that you're pregnant, you need to be careful."

"The Tailed Beast Sealing will also gradually weaken."

"Don't overwork yourself either."

"If needed, get more assistants."

After sitting down, Mito earnestly reminded Tsunade.

These were lessons from experience and a grandmother's affection toward her granddaughter.

"I understand, Grandma."

"As for Chōmei, there's nothing to worry about—it's been well-behaved."

Tsunade gave a light chuckle, clearly not taking Chōmei seriously at all.

"You still need to be cautious. Otherwise, Grandma can add another seal for extra safety."

"Just to be absolutely sure."

Fortunately, Mito was just asking Tsunade for her opinion.

If she had acted on it, Chōmei would've been bawling already.

The Eight Trigrams Sealing Style had already been harsh enough—adding another layer from this old lady would make life unbearable.

"No need, Grandma."

"That brat Chōmei is acting up again; I'll discipline it properly."

Silence followed Tsunade's words. Kawaki could almost swear he heard Chōmei whimper in pain somewhere deep inside.

Soon after, Tsunade clapped her hands together, looking very satisfied.

From the look on her face, Chōmei must've gotten a real scolding.

"Well then, I'll drop it."

Smiling slightly, Mito shook her head. She'd just heard Nine-Tails feeling sorry for Chōmei.

After all, if even the Nine-Tails feels sorry for Chōmei, things must've been bad.

"Sister, what do you want me to buy for dinner tonight? I'll go ahead and get it."

Nawaki was just about to leave anyway—going grocery shopping was only a few extra steps.

"Huh, finally!"

"My little Nawaki actually cares about his big sister now!"

Tsunade teased Nawaki playfully. Usually, making this kid spend money wasn't easy at all.

"I've always cared about my sister, okay?"

Nawaki said proudly. He was willing to let Tsunade take advantage of him today without a word of protest.

"You've got a kind heart. You know what I like."

"And don't go overboard—we'll have plenty of expenses ahead."

As she spoke, Tsunade shot a glance at Misaki, making it pretty clear the money should be saved for the young couple instead.

Misaki blushed quietly.

"Got it, Sis," Nawaki said.

He wore an excited expression, giving Misaki a playful wink.

He knew full well that Tsunade's favorite dishes weren't expensive.

"Grandma, I'll be back with Kawaki tonight."

Tsunade had work in the afternoon and wasn't planning to stay long. They'd have plenty of time to talk over dinner later.

"Mm, you two go ahead."

"Don't work too hard."

"Kawaki, this is a special period. Keep an eye on her."

Mito couldn't help reminding them, even though she knew Tsunade could probably keep working right up until she gave birth without any trouble.

"Understood, Grandma."

"I will take good care of her."

Kawaki assured her earnestly.

"That does put my mind at ease. Come earlier if you're free tonight."

As the two gradually walked away, Mito called out one last reminder.

"We will, Grandma."

Without turning around, Tsunade just waved an arm.

"Brother-in-law, wait for me—we're leaving too."

Nawaki was waiting for Misaki to help Grandma Mito back inside.

"Don't worry about me. I'll sit here a while longer."

Mito wasn't helpless yet. She told Nawaki to go ahead with Misaki and catch up to Tsunade and Kawaki.

As the four of them disappeared into the distance, Mito smiled with quiet satisfaction.
