Synopsis
They lost one. When they got them back, they didn't expect what came with them. It wasn't part of the deal. But now, something else sits at the table-uninvited, yet unmissable. What happens when they gain more than they bargained for? When the weight of what's returned is heavier than they ever imagined? Not by blood. Not by choice. And the consequences? Not yet fully felt. Chapter 1 - Intro (OW2)

Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (1886, Revised 1971 & 1979)

The Berne Convention establishes automatic copyright protection for literary and artistic works across all member countries. It defines "literary and artistic works" broadly, including books, articles, poems, plays, and digital content. Protection is granted without formal registration, ensuring authors retain exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute, adapt, and publicly perform their works.

The minimum duration of protection is the author's life plus fifty years, though many countries extend this to seventy years. Authors hold moral rights, allowing them to claim authorship and prevent distortion or mutilation of their work. Foreign authors receive the same protection as domestic authors in all member countries.

The convention allows for certain exceptions, including fair use for criticism, news reporting, and education. Countries may impose compulsory licenses in specific cases, such as translations. However, no formalities—like registration—can be required for copyright to exist. The convention is regularly updated to address new forms of artistic expression.

I hope you all completely understand the copyright code given above.

I, OW2, alongside OW1 and OW3, hope that you, as the reader, read and appreciate the book. We will update every Monday or Tuesday throughout summer break. If a chapter is postponed, we sincerely apologize—this may be due to real-life obligations or OW1's mental health. Please understand that we are all human, and unexpected situations may arise.

I ask that you remember each member's roles and importance in making this book.

To put it simply:

OW1 is incharge of the writing and development of the book.

I, OW2, am incharge of editing the chapters provided by OW1 and making sure the characters and plot stays as it should.

OW3, on the other hand, helps with character development and plot ideas.

OW1's irl best friend, who will not be named for personal and safety reasons, helps and assists in the making of each character's designs and contributes to their backstories (to some extent), she is also responsible for OW1's mental health and will take over when he is unavailable. Their writing styles are very different so we apologize if there's a sudden switch up in the writing style as OW1's irl best friend has her own troubles with writing as she is only a secretary and doesn't excel in authoring, specifically.

I hope you understand our roles & importance, and do not apply any unnecessary pressure on us. The prologue will be released on April 1st, tuesday.

Sincerely, OW2.
