Chapter 2 - A Normal Day

"So, with that said, how long would you think it would take for the Crimson Lotus League to break through the next floor?" looking at the seemingly cold, aloof lady a head taller than her, another lady, clearly paling in comparison to the beauty, asks before she points the microphone she is using towards the tall beauty, the eyes of this reporter glowing with excitement and a tinge of fanaticism as she looks at said beauty face to face.

"We are not really sure as of now, this floor… has quite the number of traps and tricks in them, and there's also a lot of things we are not familiar yet… this has been the most challenging floor we encountered so far" faintly smiling as she felt like this reporter is some sort of a fan of hers, this tall beauty replied, her melodious, gentle voice sounding completely different from what one would expect from someone of her expression and appearance, this contrast making her all the more attractive to both the feminine and masculine audience.

"I see, is that also the reason why the Six Great Legia teams up once again after almost half a decade?" noticing the faint smile on her idol's lips, the reporter couldn't help but shake for a bit, feeling like she just won a lottery causing her to get dazed for a while, but her composure as someone who had already gone through a lot of situations similar to this allows her to recover in just some few moments, quick enough for the viewers to realize what just transpires.

"You can say that, in fact, had it not been for this floor's trial being so hard, I doubt there's something that can bring us together again, we're all busy after all…" the tall beauty replies, stating as a matter of factly causing the reporter's acute sense on some good story to perk up as she senses the trace of pity in her tone, something in her urging her to probe for this story, but the professional in her constantly keeps her in check.

Her curiosity eventually wins though, making her ask the next question, completely unplanned.

"Then, can you tell us about the reason why all six of you are"—

The screen then blacks out, the sound previously drowning the place now replaced with the peaceful silence, the white noise produced by the old air conditioner along with the chattering from the busy road just right next to this establishment making it feel all the more comfy somehow, as even despite this oddly melancholic loneliness, one can still feel that they are not completely alone at all.

Finally getting full of hearing the news about the highest floor humanity has reached and the progress to getting to the next floor, the young man eating some noodle turned the tv off as he clapped once to himself the moment that he finished the meal thanking whoever god it is that is observing him right now if there is even one before looking at nothing for a while before he sighed in defeat, rising from his seat, carrying the dishes into the sink just a few steps away from him to wash it.

'Living in such a small apartment sure is convenient~~~' he thought to himself as he started wearing the dishwashing gloves, his mouth already humming a tune all too familiar to his ears before he even started, his hand reaching out towards the faucet, causing him to pause for a while.

"This…" seeing that there's just no water coming out from the faucet, he couldn't help but let another defeated sigh once again, his body feeling quite lethargic as just somehow, these past few days, everything just doesn't want to go his way.

'Boy do I have the worse of luck recently~' he said to himself, neither positive nor negative of his current situation as he had gone through things similar to this before, making him feel like there's just no problem at all, and he can solve it if he put some work into it.

'Not like anything ever goes my way but, man, this is worse than usual…' he added to himself, not a single hint of self-pity in his tone, in place of such feeling one that is unusual for someone of his situation, a peculiar drive that made him just doesn't want to complain no matter what happen.

"No way about it, looks like the electricity bill is catching up to me as well… man~~~ those newcomers always thinks that this shitty tower is a ticket to their dreams, hahaha~~" as he realize that he is lacking in money now, the young man then starts muttering to himself all while taking a number of items with him, first being a leather tunic, its faded dye a clear sign of the fact that it is an item eroded by both time and its frequent use, perfectly paring with this old tunic a slightly rusted, chipped bastard sword that still looks quite well maintained for its current state, having quite the shiny, clean surface and all.

"Well, not that they are wrong, this tower sure is a ticket… to hell that is~~~" the young man said jokingly to himself as he takes the last few things he needs, a small, portable bag and his boots, the same state as his tunic and his sword, old, rugged and eroded by the consistent use.

"Mhm, all good, I'm feeling quite lucky today as well, maybe I can bring home quite the haul from that place" patting himself on the back, the young man said as he nods to himself, speaking quite loudly as if there's someone who can hear him, or wish there's someone who do, shaking his head for a bit before he decides to move towards the front door of his humble apartment, taking a good long look before smiling and muttering to himself once again.

"I'll be back tonight" he announced before he came out, confident that he was really going to return by the time he said.
