Chapter 7 - Blocked Ascension

Reading the description of these two supposedly overpowered abilities, the young man just couldn't help but shake his head in dismay as he realizes from long ago that these two abilities, while both provides him with the best chances of ascension there is, is just completely useless, with the [True Treasure Hunting] even being detrimental to him, making him wish that he just acquires a more practical active ability rather than having these two high ranking, but not too useful of an ability.

"Fucking odds of this tower is clearly tilted, what absolute fairness and rewards? Bullshit" as he thinks of being stuck in the first floor for almost a decade now, he just couldn't help but let himself out making the creatures hidden all around him feel like he is even more of a danger now than he is previously, making them move away from his as their instinct told them that they shouldn't really try to attack this man as he is right now.

"Haaah, no other way around it, let's try getting that treasure again today" knowing that there is just no way for him to proceed to higher floors without clearing the condition of the [True Treasure Hunting] ability, he decided to head off to the usual place where he spends the rest of his hunting time after gathering enough materials to sustain his living within the tower for some time, his expression changing as his easy-going nature becomes completely drowned with seriousness oozing from the entirety of his body.

As he takes consistent, even and seemingly measured steps deeper into the woods, one can see the looming bad luck right on top of the young man, almost as if he's about to face a disaster that no ascender from the first floor can survive, yet despite that, his face still maintains that cold seriousness, his gaze containing not a semblance of worry but an ocean of calm.

----------

"Gaahhaackk… fuuuuuckk… that fucking hurts you bastard…" slamming right on a stone cold, solid wall, a young man said as he struggles to stand up, his body currently on his knees as he keeps his upper body up with his hand also planted firm on the ground, the blood spilling out not only from his clearly cracked skull but also from his abdomen with hole clearly bored by a violent attack making him feel nothing short of sick, as if his consciousness would fade anytime from the lack of blood in his body.

"Aghh… fuck it, you want to play with me huh, let's play then" after just a few moments, he already feels like strength is coming back to him, the pain still stinging enough to make him wince but his body already recovered enough to allow him to stand once again, his grasp on the sword never getting loose despite the injury he sustained, the smile on his face getting wider and wider as time goes by, almost as if he's enjoying the beating he is receiving right now.

"Hahaha… this is fun" he mutters to himself seemingly in comfort as his mind thought that he can never get used to facing whatever thing it is that is rushing towards him now, especially not with an equipment and stat limitation that he has, as whatever this thing that is guarding that treasure that he needs to acquire in order to reach the second floor, it is way too strong for any creature in the first floor.

Standing at over ten meters tall, a gigantic, humanoid rock figure, resembling the golems of myth with a more sapient look to it, towers between the young man, Azrael, and the greatest treasure of the first floor, the young man feeling like he would never get used to this feeling of being toyed by a monster with power and strength way beyond the floor it resides, almost as if it, along with the treasure it is guarding is placed in the first floor as a bad joke for the person who would acquire the [True Treasure Hunting] ability, a bad joke that appears to be specifically targeting him.

"You're too big for this place, aren't the administrators going to do something about you? This feels like smurfing" remembering the times outside where he would encounter things like this in the games he would often play, he couldn't help but remark as he points the sword in his hand upward, directed right towards what serves as the head of the creature, who shows not a single drop of emotion as it heard his jest.

Of course, while it doesn't retort of react emotionally to his words, the creature found his location and once again starts moving towards him, in a manner not really fitting creatures of his size, as not only it is moving at a considerably fast speed, it is also agile enough to make its own footwork confusing to the unsuspecting eyes, said footwork often catching the young man off-guard and making him feel absurd pain as the creature's solid stone of a fist hits his body solidly more often than not.

Should this footwork be performed by someone of the same size as Azrael, he would hardly have any problem dealing with them, especially since while it sure is a good footwork, that is only for normal ascenders of the second floor, this possibly being the only thing that is of the first floor for this monster.

The sole reason why he is not able to deal with it being the fact that he can hardly get a read of the creature's entire body given how humongous it is, which means having a hard time dealing with his movements alone, and that is despite the fact that he is already fighting with this monster for nearly ten years now.

"Let's try that today" feeling a little lucky as he has yet to turn into a complete meat paste by being crushed by this creature despite fighting against it for a fairly long time already, Azrael thought of something and rushed towards it brimming with confidence that he gaslit himself to have.
