Chapter 1 - The Upheavals of the Happy Days 1

"Evelyne, Evelyne" said Miss du Blanc, knocking on my door, with the purpose of waking me up. Waking up, I replied "Miss du Blanc I am awake"

she replied in a pretty harsh voice "You have 1 hour to get ready, I will be back" I got up and looked outside the window. It was still dark, it was only 4 in the morning but I had to wake up, which made me pretty upset.

"This darn woman" I said while walking to the bathroom. Today didn't start out pretty well for me since I had to shower in cold water. Then I had to skip breakfast for being behind schedule. Miss du blanc said I spent an extra minute in the stairs when I was not supposed to. I know she is doing this for my well being, but gosh I am hungry now.

It is currently 5:30 in the morning; time to meet my parents. Miss du Blanc led me to the Lyls tea room which is 3 steps of the guards away from my parents' room. It is actually 5 steps for a slow walker like me, not to mention that I am short, well not I am not too short I am 5,6.

We arrived at the door of the tea room, Miss du Blanc knocked on the door then let me in alone.

"Come on in and sit" said my mother, so I did, "We do not want to scare you, but the matter we are going to discuss with you right now is serious, and very important for you." "Aren't we supposed to talk about my sister's wedding?" I asked, as my curiosity awakened.

My mother sighed and replied "She is getting married, but her future is not your future. It is time for us to tell you about your future, your path." After the conversation with my parents I knew my life was going to change. I could not let this devastating fact ruin my life, well it is my life for now. This Saturday, the coronation day, I will become the queen.

On Thursday morning, as I was walking down the path in the garden with my sister, she stopped and told me that she was going to Elvada tomorrow, "Why are you only telling me now?" I asked. "Evie, I surely did not have time, you know. Getting married to another kingdom is a big deal, there are many things that I should deal with, and I had a tight schedule. You must understand me, Evie. I wasn't trying to leave you in ignorance, I just did not have time to let you know. I really wanted to say goodbye to you, wishing you a great future, this is why I am here right now.". Saying those words, Esther gave me a necklace.
