I got to my house and I lay down on the cool crystalline rock otherwise known as Mármaron. I felt my body sink into the stone as though we had become one. I just lay there thinking about what Kovans will do. Aneli came with food but I didn't feel like eating. I told her how I wanted to be by myself. She came over and stroked my hair. In a loving motherly tone she told me to eat something. She brought fruit and some sort of grilled marine animal. I simply shook my head. She reminded me that she is older than me. As a young girl I must respect my elders. I let out a laugh, "I may look younger but I am almost three hundred years old. I am immortal. So I am afraid you will have to respect my wishes." This sent her into shock. But I was exhausted so I laid there. My body felt as though it was weighed down. She regained her composure and laid down too. She asked me to prove I was older so I showed her videos of me from the past centuries. She was impressed. I told her to keep it a secret. I am here because there are those who wish to inflict harm. They wish to become like me to make life worse. She didn't say anything so I ignored her as I stared at the ceiling. She asked, "Are you really Nox?" I answered, "I named myself that to remain anonymous." She asked me why I chose. I showed her the people responsible for the misery of the masses. She was speechless. She had heard of this but never imagined it to be real. She thanked me for my honesty. I requested her silence. She smiled and I responded, "That's not an answer" she replied, "This is a close knit community. There are no secrets here. If you want we can remain silent if an outsider asks about you." I absentmindedly nod my head stared at the sky. I turned to the right side and fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning to see a bunch of locals sitting on the floor waiting for me to wake up. Aneli mentioned someone was building a dam. This would block water from reaching farm lands. Crops will wither and people will die. I asked him where the dam was being built. She said it was on my property. I got up and followed the river to the location. The equipment had arrived. I waved my hand and the engines started and went in reverse. The workers chased after it till they were out on the street far away from their project. I asked these people why they were trespassing. They had no right to barge in and damage my land. The secretary of planetary affairs came and he told the corporate official that he was still on my property. It was explained in detail. The man apologized and walked away. I told the official to tell every business out here on this planet to get off my land. Either my lawyer will handle them or I will. He promised me that there will be no further disturbances. I patted him in the shoulder and went back to my private sanctuary. I laid on the floor and one old lady reminded me. She explained, "If you are going to own this land then you had better show responsibility. Get up and water the plants." I raised my hand and all the trees were watered at once. She was impressed. I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the warmth.
A gruff voice asked me, "What is this mask used for?" I looked up to see the man I had saved yesterday holding granny's mask. "It's my grandmother's family mask. She was raised a Nin." One of the hot-blooded asked, "A what?" I answered, "Assassin. That's all I have left of her so put it down gently" he placed it in the table and asked me how I was doing. My response was simple, "Emotion is a weakness. Purpose is the way of life. Pain is a reminder. Failure is a teacher." He sat next to me, "You didn't answer my question." I replied, "There is nothing to say. I don't know what I am feeling. But I do know I need peace and quiet" Aneli stroked my hair, "Being alone won't solve your problem. It will make things worse." I recalled, "I have spent hours in solitude previously. Right now isn't any different" one young man asked me if they were forbidden from entering. I answered, "No you are not forbidden. This planet is your home. You have every right to come and go as you please. As long as you are not hiding here before or after committing a crime. Can you do me a favor and let me recuperate in peace." An older lady came with a glass of water. The water became ice cold the second my fingers touched the tumbler. I sat up and drank the glass. I gave it back and thanked her before laying down again. Aneli asked me to eat something but I quietly got up and went to work. I trimmed off the dead and rotten and used earth manipulation to make a pit. The dead leaves and branches were thrown in and I set it on fire. I was careful not to torch this place. Afterwards I went to sleep on the floor again.
I woke up to the chirping. An aves flew in. It had black feathers complimented with bright red flecks on the tip. Black legs, small gray beak and luminous blue eyes. A wingspan befitting its size. The thing is small enough to hide in the palm of my hand. It made a melodious sound and a few other species moved in. I just tucked myself under my jacket and tried to sleep. Akamu mentioned what a beautiful day it was. My response was simple. I kept quiet. He reminded me how bright and amazing an afternoon outdoors is going to be. Someone else asked him, "What exactly do you want her to do? Photosynthesize?" Aneli interrupted, "I told you she is suffering from depression. She needs a gentle approach. You all are being too much." I closed my eyes and went back to sleep. I was nudged again. Another gray haired lady told me to get up. I tried to get up but my body has a mind of its own. It felt like invisible forces were pinning me down. After several attempts I just gave up and stayed there. Finally she had enough so she sent everyone away. She laid down next to me and extended her hand, "Will you be my friend?" I accepted her hand and I felt a sense of safety and security. I hugged her and I wept uncontrollably. I cried till I was tired. She wiped the tears away and took my hand. We went through a cave hidden in the base of the mountain in my property. The place was barely lit and yet she knew her way as though she has been going in and out since birth. After some time we saw daylight and I walked out to see white sandy beach. Everyone knew who she was. They greeted her warmly. She asked one of the youth to teach me to surf. We were enjoying ourselves when boats came at us. They looked like skiffs that the water nation used for hunting food. They came in rows as though they were here to fight.
I used the water manipulation and tipped the boats over. They swam with all their might. I had no choice but to use water manipulation to make a whirlpool. Aneli asked me to stop so I did. These people had red and black striped headdresses on and they had tattoos which were different from the ones here. They came with spears and took their attack position. I raised a firewall and sent it hurtling at them. They sent spears flying at and I used a fire dome to protect everyone. As everyone was focused on the spear they sent something else. Both hit the fire dome and disintegrated. They pulled out clubs and some sort of crude implement with a sharp edge. They charged forward and burned to ashes. I laughed, "this is a fire dome. Unless you are fire user you can get through. Hop back on your ships and go home." One of the younger ones explained. Then the widest and most scarred one amongst them grunted. Then they all made frightening expressions and danced weirdly. I asked the nearest child what was going on. He explained, "It is a war dance. They are asking for strength to beat us." I was amused by their tenacity, "I can stay here forever without a problem. He and his army will perish so please tell him to conserve his strength for the return journey." The young one translated and one of them jumped at us. I changed the flames to something in the visible spectrum specifically iridescent fire. I watched as he landed on the dome and slid off burning. He managed a few steps before he was ashes. The others saw this and walked back quietly. I grinned, "So do they understand why I said go back? Or will they all want to get grilled?" The one in charge grunted and one of the children in the dome translated it. He took several breaths and ordered his men to retreat.
These people looked like they were low on food so I used the wind to make some of the fruits nearby fall down. They stared as I used earth to move them towards them. I smiled, "Use this so you will have the strength to go home." The child explained and the men grabbed the food and left. Everyone stayed inside the dome till it was safe again. Then everyone went swimming and surfing again. I dove underwater and tried to learn breath holding techniques. My best one was two minutes. Finally the sunset and we sat down to eat. The waves started behaving as though they were carrying news. I lived with the water nation the longest since mastering water is the toughest. I knew the ones from this evening were back. I waited till their feet touched the sand to sink them into the earth. They were neck deep and the crashing waves shoved sand into their mouths. Finally they gave up and pleaded for help. They shot up in the air without their weapons and they had no choice but to board their boats. They left and I saw one of the children was injured so I used saltwater to heal him. He got up and thanked me before heading home. The invaders saw this and were perplexed. I walked over and told the scarred one to never come back. Whatever ego he is trying to inflate isn't worth it. He stared at me weirdly and asked Aneli something. It felt like a request. She replied and it sounded like a refusal. She asked me if I wanted to go with him. I said I want to go back to my new home in the forest and lay down in peace. She replied and escorted me back. I felt the intensity of his gaze as I walked away.
She dropped me home and I went to sleep. I woke up to see a new batch of people. The youngest asked me my name. I replied, "My name is Alysia Stormborne." She smiled, "My name is Kakalina. My father is the chief. My uncle accidentally sold you this place." I shrugged, "He boarded the pleasure barge and used this place as collateral. I won and he lost. He gave me just the house and a few feet of land. He explained he was in debt so I paid the amount to clear his debts. As thanks he transferred the entire estate in my name." I showed her the documents. She asked me if I really wanted to be here. I explained to her that I had spoken to her uncle about my gardening days. He gave me this place legally. So I am not exchanging this place for any other place. This is my home and it is non negotiable. I will remain here till death takes me. She was amused but said nothing. The others were curious about my immortality but they were quiet too. She explained how I was still a teenager. I will change my mind when I am older. I shook hands with her and wished her luck. Her mother Kailani was a kind sweet lady. She had a few strands of gray but she looked young. Her husband Akoni was a patient man and he was eager to see how things would be. I saw the scarred one and took a fighting pose. He had a look of amusement. A man in a business suit came. He asked me if I would like to sell the property or a portion. I explained how I have no interest in selling even an inch. So he can take his business elsewhere. He showed me a bank account and it had about five million valuta. I laughed and showed him my bank account which had more money than he could count. He gasped, "That's not possible." I grinned ear to ear, "Get out or I will throw you out." He bowed and walked away. The radio mentioned an armed robbery. All citizens are to be on the lookout. He is a local. He is tall with frizzy hair with tanned skin and plenty of tattoos. If this perpetrator is discovered. They must proceed with caution. I waved it off and he showed up. I told him to go back the way he came and he used a pistol. I caught the energy bolt with my bare hands. I clapped both hands and snuffed it out. He took a step back. I took a fighting pose. He thought he could fight me but I stomped on the ground and the crystalline floor swallowed him. I let him out and he tried to assault me again. I shot fire out of my hands and he fell face first. Then levitated rocks and threw them at him. He didn't seem to mind till I wriggled my finger and the rocks turned into daggers. He turned around and ran for his life. I restored the rock to its original form and put it back where it was. Then I stomped on the floor and spikes popped out. He fell on his knees and I asked the nice locals to hand him over to the authorities. They took him away as I got ready to take a bath.
