I sat down to figure out a way. For reasons beyond me I remembered Gidim. He mentioned how he had pretended to be part of the raiding crew to rescue people. I pitched the idea and they said it is possible. But the problem will be the guards. I laughed, "I will handle the guards. Just get the following items. Clothes fit for bandits, anything to cover the face, two signal jammers, a portable body scanner and surgical cutting tool." The Karuda raised her hands as though praying to God for help. She gave me a stern look before acquiring the items. We dressed up and snuck out during the curfew. I used earth manipulation and sunk them into earth in one go. No one had the chance to think. The earth hardened so they couldn't get out. The signal jammers blocked their relay so they couldn't call for back up. Everyone in the camp came running and they hopped a cruiser to go in the deep space. The second signal jammer was working overtime to make sure the tags didn't go boom. Everyone lined up in an orderly fashion. One person used the scanner to find the tag. The other used the cutting tool to get it out. I used water to heal them. I suggested it would be fun if we could modify this ship. So when we get the others we can hide them under the walkway. The officers could have a look around for stowaways or traitors and see nothing out of the ordinary. This would look like they were given a bad tip. So they would have no choice but to let us pass. And there would be a signal jammer working to make sure the tagged ones didn't go boom. Karuda promised to do so as she was reunited with her baby. She introduced herself as Tali and her daughter was Muraki.
We dropped them off with a starburst battleship called Noor. Then we came back to rescue the idiots that I unfortunately came to this decrepit planet with. The entire time I was wishing to punch him so hard his nose would be a permanent resident deep in his skull. Tali laughed, "Trust me dear there are such fools everywhere." I used the comms and complained to the leaders of the resistance. The response was simple. Leave him there. But I made it clear. I will rescue him and they will demote and punish him severely. We made it back to see a blockade being formed. We had to declare ourselves before we passed the battleship. Tali explained, "They are dreadship. They release a missile that dissolves ships. The chemical doesn't agree with the fuel cells. Upon contact they rupture. The sight has left people in despair. Hence the name dreadship" we managed to get past the eight rows of ships. And landed on the port. The officers searched the place for anyone other than us before permitting us to enter the city. The idiots were kept in the city jailhouse and were being prepped for transport. I stomped over and waved my hand. Tali watched as the entire wall came crashing down. I yelled at the idiots. "You idiots. You brainless fools. You're good for nothing." Tali covered my mouth as they came towards me. The general had a sour face but he was pleased to see me. "What took you so long?" He yelled. I retorted as I restored the wall, "You're lucky I even came for you. My orders were simple. Leave you here to rot. Loose lips. I came here after I was promised you will be punished"
He puffed out his chest as he gave me the 'I am more important than you' look before we all ran towards Tali's shop. They stayed in a hidden room under the shop. The stay was five days long. We couldn't use any method of communication to inform our friends what had happened. We got the green light to leave. Tali and Muraki came with us. They sold their shop since it was possible they are no longer safe here. As we made it out of the blockade and were a safe distance we opened the star bridge to get to Kova. I called the leaders and they yelled at the old man for his inability to keep a secret. He countered how he wanted me to commit mass murder by taking down an entire compound. This was met with more yelling. He was suspended and denied future missions. I reported about the weapons these people were working on. I showed them the data which I collected and what other planets were doing similar or other types of experiments. He kept wincing and I told them about the incident where he grabbed fire like it was something he could touch without inflicting pain. The leaders had an expression indicative of amusement. I used water to heal him and threw away the dirty water. He asked me where I got the healing water from. I answered, "I can use all of the four elements since birth. Water manipulation is not complete until I learn how to heal." He gave me a look of clear disbelief and asked again. So I proved my point by using water from the sink. He wasn't pleased to see that but he sat down without a word.
When we reached Krasna I was told to take the data to Maeve. As I walked away the leaders started yelling at HIM for his attitude. I walked for an hour before I reached the tech department. After a few inquiries I was directed
towards a young woman discussing how to modify the jumpships to withstand the biting cold temperature of the permafrost district. She had curly brown hair tied to a ponytail. It resembled a pom pom. She wore a mechanic outfit of gray, blue and yellow. A pair of googles on her forehead. Thick gloves and tools belt slung on her shoulder. She spoke in Karula. Her accent was certainly country side style because of the laid back manner of speaking. I used the city side style which is more pronounced, polished and the accent is more refined. She gave me a grin and happily took me to her workshop. She went through the technical readout as she cursed the general for his lack of concern for others. She heard about my healing and mentioned that there is a place called Diespra or Disepra. It is a place where night berry bushes are in excess. He says there is a hidden where a small well carries water that heals all wounds. Even the sap of the night berries. I paused to think. As far as I know the Tentative sector is where the berries are. Anhedonia is also a place where these berries are found in abundance. I really believe this healing well is a children's story that people took too seriously.
I came back to see HIM waiting and I turned around to find Alexa. HE had a feeling so he chased after me. Asking to talk to me for a few minutes. I finally reached Mira. I asked her if she had cleared what's his name for action. She explained he is after me for another reason. He wants to take biological samples so he can enjoy the same gifts as me. I heard yelling and someone came and gave me a hug. Turns out I yelled in fear and the nearest thought I lost a relative. The general came and said he was hoping to catch me before I spoke to Mira. She and the nearest leaders realized he is more interested in fighting than living. So they ordered him to go to the front. He said he will go after his modification. I made it clear. He is not getting any samples from me. He is human and he will remain so. I was given this gift as part of being a civilian on my planet. So he has no right to ask. He said he has lost soldiers and he wants it to stop. I conveyed my condolences. I argued,"Learn to use what you have been given and stop asking to be me." He retorted, "Your gifts are wasted on you." I smiled, "You are not the one who decides what is a waste and what is not." He smiled, "This is war. I will have everything that is a resource of this resistance to fight the enemy." I smiled, "Didn't you tell them about my attempt to rescue civilians wrongfully detained?" This was met with a few people showing their displeasure. He waved it off saying that his mission was far superior than mine. So I should have postponed mine till I finished helping him with his.
The leaders convened and sent him to the front alongside the Kovans. He didn't go quietly. I did mention that he did pass on information to the enemy once. It is possible he will do it again. The director promised me that he will be given the death penalty should he try anything again. I went back to my quarters to sleep. The others went back to training, intel gathering, inventory for supplies and taking off for their approval missions. I was woken up by a frightened Tali. She explained, "General Normal Vos was brought in a few minutes ago. He is injured. He is asking for you." I was still in-between sleep and awake. I yawned, "Who?" She replied, "The general who was sent to the front with the Kovans. He is back. His ship was totaled and he is the only survivor. He wants you to heal him so he can be healthy enough to survive when they transfer your abilities to him." That snuffed the sleep off me. I growled, "He is not getting a single cell from my body so tell him to heal his body the natural way. Understood." I made a fist and it caught fire. She backed away and ran to deliver the message. The unified leaders of the resistance made aware of this form of harassment. They made it clear to Vos when they came to see what he was doing. He is human and he will die human. There will be no transfer of any power to him in any shape or form. Either physical or political. They felt necessary to mention a rumor going around about him sabotaging the ship to come back here. He neither confirmed nor denied it.
In the end he was ordered to stay in the medbay till the medic deemed him fit to go out and fight again. He was told to leave me alone. He can't ask me to heal him or ask me to transfer my abilities to him. If he is seen within arm's length of me he is under arrest. He is not allowed to summon me or even mention me to anyone ever again. I saw him a few weeks later on a hover chair with a missing leg. He also lost a few fingers and had an eye patch too. According to him I would have healed him and restored his lost limb and all. In his mind the limb would grow like a sapling and fully develop the toes and everything. But I squashed that idea mentioning how people with his injury will look as he is now even if I healed him. To make sure he didn't hear a garbled version from someone else I said it to his face. He had nothing to say because I talked about my first day in the healing quaters of the water realm. These people who were seasoned in healing couldn't regrow the limbs of their chief after their craft exploded. I can't regrow it either. His intelligence needs to come back to ground level on Krasna. This spread like wildfire and he stopped talking about me regrowing his limbs. He started talking about restarting the Verena project so he can acquire my gifts. The Kovans have banned it so he was caught badmouthing them and he was finally arrested and thrown in jail. One problem down. Only ninety nine to go.
