Chapter 6 - Hidden inside

Mira quietly stopped before Galadriel, who was looking into the distance of the destroyed cavern. "What's that? It looks out of place.." Mira followed the direction her finger was pointed in. A bright light shone through the cracks of the wall, Mira placed a hand on her handle as she slowly headed for it. "Let's be careful.." Galadriel murmured as they neared the light. Poking her head slightly into the hole, a loud gasp left Mira's mouth. It seemed like some sort of facility hidden behind the mine, was the mine a facade to hide what truly laid beneath. Drawn across the wall were circles with words and letters in the native language of the people here. "Is that supposed to be some sort of summoning circle?" Mira asked quietly almost to herself. Galadriel with a loud huff pushed Mira inside and herself as her eyes slid across the sight. "I doubt it, I've seen these before. I've been down here longer than you, they're something like magical circles, meant to do a specific action. They could be used for summoning, we can't rule that out." Galadriel responded to Mira's question. Yet in the middle of the room, was laid a pedestal with a strange circular ball laid in the middle of it. It was crystal clear, with something black floating and swaying inside. Mira's and Galadriel's eyes meet as if they both understood something, yet Mira knew what this might be exactly. That small shattering sound echoed through her mind as she killed the creature named Akuji. "This.. Is it the same thing that made the creature move?" Mira asked out loud, as she was about to draw he blade, yet stopped as Galadriel's hand landed on Mira's. "This will just raise suspicion.. We shouldn't." With a small sigh Mira relaxed and nodded. "Let's just keep moving.." Galadriel continued as they moved forward. Some of the doors of the facility were broken from the fighting. The halls were empty, decrepit and filled with the stench of iron, torn at places, but it was clear that was not from the battle earlier. Their quiet footsteps slid further into the dimly lit facility, the eerie silence almost off putting, especially that no one has come to stop them.

The deeper they went the more worn the facility became, lines of black ooze spread across the walls, dried up from how long its been there. "Don't enter where you shouldn't." The thought rung through Mira's mind, those were the words that Euthykritos had told them. It made sense, he didn't want them to find what truly was behind the mine. The black ooze, the crystal sphere only adding to what the cause of the strange monsters being there was. Suddenly Galadriel lifted her arm up stopping Mira as she spoke in a small whisper "I think I just heard a noise.." Mira slowly slid her eyes along the halls, yet no one in sight. The eerie silence now felt just uneasy, not a single other noise in the facility. Taking a deep breath Mira took Galadriel's hand and led them further in. Soon in sight was a large door, engraved lines into it, it seemed to work off of magic. Yet in it's thick metal frame laid a huge gaping hole, inviting them both in.

Both girl's knew it was a huge risk even doing this, both of them were exhausted, yet they knew that they couldn't just leave this behind. Slowly they drew closer, stopping at the towering door, a small gasp of astonishment left Galadriel's lips. Pushing past the gaping hole it opened up into a large laboratory, magical circle lay in its furthest corner, buzzing remnants of its use still dissipating. Hung above the magical circle were chains, most likely to contain whatever came out of it. Lined near the walls were desks, some thrown in and broken in random corners of the large room. Vials neatly sitting on top of some of the desks, papers scatter across them and the ground. Without saying much to each other the girls continued, each one checking the large room. Galadriel stopped picking up one of the papers on the floor, her eyes sliding along its contents. "Mira.. They.. Summoned that thing and tried to extract its essence.. Essentially its power, but it seems things didn't go as they planned." Galadriel's eyes slid over the torn facility, looking back at the hole before her eyes landed on Mira. "But it seems they did succeed in creating some, those crystal spheres.. They're probably what the result of their efforts are. I had a feeling something was off, I mean those monsters truly didn't look like something that you'd expect a monster to be." Mira murmured out as her eyes landed on the magical circle in the near the outer wall. Slowly she drew near it, her eyes sliding across it. Something just made her feel uneasy about it.

Mira turned to face Galadriel and spoke once more "I think we should get out of here and head back. Something just doesn't feel right." Galadriel nodded as they headed for the gaping hole. Sliding past it into the halls of the facility once more, just like before it was dead silent. That alone made Mira feel more uneasy, something nagging at the back of her mind. Pulling each other forward the girl's pushed forwards towards the entrance they came in through. Both knew that something wasn't just right as they exchanged glances with each other. "I feel like we're not alone here anymore.." Galadriel whispered to Mira, the girl nodded back at her as they picked up the pace. Reaching the more cleaner and less destroyed and creepy side of the facility, a small breath of relief left their lips. Seeing the familiar hallway, with the room they felt like they could relax. But that sense of relief was cut short, as foot steps echoed right behind them.

"You aren't supposed to be here." A voice spoke up from behind them. Both girls instantly turned to face the person, taking a step backwards, making distance.
