The ground beneath Emma's feet cracked as a massive explosion of light shot from the school cafeteria.
"Everyone get back!" Emma shouted, running toward the building while her reformed enemies and family followed close behind.
Through the shattered windows, Emma could see tables floating in the air, spinning wildly. The lunch trays were melting into silver puddles, and the walls were changing colors like a rainbow gone crazy.
"Mrs. Emma!" Tommy screamed from outside. "There's a new kid in there, and she's really scared!"
Emma burst through the cafeteria doors and stopped cold. In the center of the chaos sat a girl who looked about ten years old. Her hair was white as snow, and her eyes glowed with the same silver light that had once come from Emma's own hands.
The girl was crying, and every tear that hit the floor made the building shake.
"Hey there," Emma said softly, walking slowly toward the child. "What's your name?"
