Noah explained as he controlled his magic and probed into Ego's brain.
Ego's brain was unimaginably complex. The information stored within it was overwhelming. Tracing it back to its origin, Noah even saw the appearance of water, then the birth of microorganisms.
After that came plants.
Then oxygen-like substances formed through photosynthesis.
Then living creatures appeared.
The span of time involved left Noah speechless.
He knew Ego had lived for an extremely long time. But long enough to witness microorganisms slowly evolve into large-scale life?
That was beyond expectation.
After thinking for a long while, Noah decided to let the system take over.
The system was busy, but handling something like this was trivial for it.
It could even force Ego to actively reveal information.
That alone was enough to put Noah at ease.
Processing these memories took time. With nothing else to do, Noah shifted his attention back to Peter and the others.
While intermittently reviewing the memories, Noah discovered that Ego's energy reserves were absurdly vast.
Ten thousand Noahs combined might not match this planet alone.
But there was also a crucial problem.
Despite gathering such enormous energy, Ego couldn't fully use it.
The original explanation had always been vague, but through memory, Noah saw the real reason.
First, Ego had spread his power too thin. Nearly the entire galaxy contained his preparations.
Second-and more importantly-he was too old.
Even sleeping had become a problem.
Perfectly controlling that level of power was simply impossible.
As for Star-Lord, Noah learned the truth as well.
Peter did have special abilities.
They just hadn't awakened yet.
On Ego's planet, because of bloodline affinity, Peter could resonate with Ego's accumulated energy and use it smoothly.
After Ego's death, that energy source disappeared.
Peter never truly awakened his divine power.
Without compatible energy, he reverted to being mostly ordinary.
Even so, his physical strength still far exceeded normal people.
That was why he could withstand the Power Stone.
While Noah sorted through all this, Peter and the others stood frozen.
The plan was insane.
It amounted to erasing most of the galaxy's civilized races.
Gamora now looked at Ego the same way she looked at Thanos.
The only difference was that this one looked senile.
"Is it... all true?"
Peter stared at Noah, then at the dazed-looking Ego.
For some reason, he already believed it.
A strange certainty.
Still, he asked.
Everyone wanted to hear it confirmed.
And Noah didn't disappoint.
"Of course it's true," Noah nodded. "I didn't erase his consciousness. He can tell you himself."
"And if you think I need to lie to you, you don't have to believe it."
With that, Noah slightly loosened his control.
Ego immediately woke up.
He had heard everything.
What shocked him wasn't the exposure.
It was how much Noah knew.
For a moment, Ego even wondered if Noah had similar ambitions.
And that gave him hope.
As long as he survived, there was still a chance.
Ego burst into fervent enthusiasm he had suppressed for countless years.
He explained his plan passionately.
In detail.
Especially to Peter.
He wanted his only son-the one who inherited his Celestial gene-to help him finish it.
He also didn't forget Noah.
Even without the gene, Noah could gain something greater.
Loyalty.
Endless knowledge.
This entire universe.
Listening to him, Noah was reminded of Voldemort.
Empty promises.
That man had long since turned to dust.
Noah had no interest.
But Ego kept talking anyway.
Because survival instinct is stubborn.
Even the smallest chance is worth trying.
Watching Ego sink into uncontrollable monologuing, Noah knew something.
If he hadn't restrained him, Ego would've been another talkative villain.
There was a reason villains talked so much.
They suppressed themselves for too long.
During planning, execution, secrecy.
No one knew what they'd done.
No one could share the joy.
So once they got the chance-victory, exposure, or desperation-they spilled everything.
Detail by detail.
To be understood.
To be admired.
To be believed.
Ego was no different.
He was lonely.
No one shared his "joy."
Now, he finally had an audience.
Shock.
Fear.
Anger.
Any reaction made him feel alive.
And perhaps to gain Noah's trust, he went even further.
He revealed his secrets.
How Noah might walk his future path.
And what he had done in the past.
Including this-
To prevent himself from longing for old romances, Ego had personally implanted a tumor in Star-Lord's mother's head.
"That's enough."
Noah sighed.
This level of cooperation was excessive.
But it saved him a lot of trouble.
He looked at Peter, who was shaking with rage.
The outcome was clear.
"You killed my mother!"
Peter roared.
He pulled out his Element Gun and fired wildly.
Then he realized his mistake.
His aim snapped to the floating brain.
"If you shoot," Noah said coldly, "I'll make sure all of you die here."
The words dropped like ice.
Everyone froze.
Peter was impulsive.
He always was.
Otherwise, he wouldn't earn his future reputation.
But Noah understood him.
Compared to a father who had never existed, his mother was irreplaceable.
Learning the truth erased everything else.
All Peter wanted was to erase Ego.
But Noah wouldn't allow it.
The system was accelerating memory extraction.
One mistake could ruin everything.
Ego was strong.
His legacy was even more valuable.
"He'll die," Noah said flatly. "But his memories are here. I need them."
"These are knowledge."
"I am a sorcerer."
That was all he said.
Then he restrained Ego's core again and focused completely.
The memories were vast beyond imagination.
But with the system, it became manageable.
What Noah received were accelerated memories.
Condensed.
Abridged.
Yet the gains were enormous.
Most importantly-
He witnessed the full evolution of a planet.
Seasons became elemental cycles.
Storms became transformations.
Creation itself unfolded before him.
Noah slowly closed his eyes.
Under the system's guidance, the vast blue energy of Ego's planet began to surge.
It converged.
Rushed.
And poured into Noah's body.
At that moment, Noah was like a Celestial.
Within that force, he understood countless things.
He didn't know how much time passed.
Then suddenly-
A vacuum.
Within it, elements fused.
Time and space intertwined.
Light and darkness converged.
Noah opened his eyes.
Power flowed through him.
The blue of Ego's planet vanished completely.
On his panel, changes appeared.
