Chapter 494 - Chapter 494: Assembling the Guardians of the Galaxy

Tier Nine?

Dragon form... Tier Ten?

Noah quietly sensed the changes within himself.

To be honest, he hadn't expected such a breakthrough after inheriting Ego's legacy.

Ego was powerful-there was no denying that. But the Cosmic Cube hadn't been weak either, yet back then, Noah hadn't experienced anything close to this kind of explosive growth. That discrepancy left him genuinely puzzled.

More importantly, just moments ago, he had clearly perceived the power of light.

Now?

Nothing.

No clear perception. No resonance.

The traces where light and darkness should have converged still ought to exist, yet he couldn't feel them at all.

It was frustrating.

But even so-

Noah was in an excellent mood.

Tier Nine was the ceiling for a conventional mage.

Reaching it meant standing at the peak.

And Tier Ten?

That was the boundary between mortal and god.

A state Noah preferred to call demigod.

The title sounded unimpressive, but after some thought, it was the most accurate description.

"System," Noah asked calmly, "explain."

Even in joy, questions still needed answers.

As a mage, Noah had an instinctive thirst for understanding. Confusion was unacceptable. Knowledge was the ladder of advancement-without understanding himself, how could he move forward?

"Ego's power is immense," the system replied mechanically.

"Even after compression, it significantly enhanced your strength."

The explanation cleared things up.

Ego's power was overwhelming.

Even weakened, even barely controllable, it never disappeared-especially on this planet, where his energy permeated everything.

Now that Noah controlled Ego's core, the situation had fundamentally changed.

Ordinarily, seizing that core would be impossible.

But Noah had space magic.

And the Space Stone.

He bypassed Ego's defenses entirely, took the core directly, and claimed full control.

With it came everything else.

Including the planet-wide energy reserves.

When Noah absorbed the Cosmic Cube, that power had primarily enhanced his physique.

And physical enhancement was his weakest area.

Not because it was ineffective-but because Noah disliked close combat.

Interest dictated growth.

Magic advanced quickly.

His body did not.

The Cosmic Cube improved him steadily, but slowly.

This time was different.

Ego's power was less in total quantity, but it had been massively compressed by the system.

The result was terrifying.

In effective quality, it nearly rivaled an Infinity Stone.

Naturally, the system didn't waste it.

The power was used to directly enhance Noah himself.

His physical fitness rose significantly.

And because his knowledge and mental state already met the requirements, the breakthrough followed naturally.

Tier Nine. Level Two.

His human form benefited greatly.

But the true winner-

Was his dragon form.

Although rooted in dark power, Ego's energy lacked strong attributes. Anything extraneous was simply stripped away by the system.

With a monstrous physical foundation, the dragon form surged straight into Tier Ten.

"I still can't fully control it," Noah admitted quietly. "No fine control."

But that didn't bother him.

Dragon form wasn't meant for precision.

It was for desperation.

For annihilation.

Brutality was the point.

What did disappoint him was the power of light.

Just as he suspected.

It was essentially the result of planetary photosynthesis.

Yes, it counted as light.

But the energy level was abysmally low.

Noah's dark power was high-dimensional-comparable to an Infinity Stone.

This light?

Barely low-dimensional.

The difference was that of an ant and an elephant.

The system confirmed it.

There was no way to elevate it.

"...What a waste," Noah muttered.

Twice now.

Once in the Star Wars universe-light-adjacent, but not true light.

This time, true light-but too weak.

If merged, it would simply be devoured by the dark.

No balance.

No counterpart.

"Forget it," Noah exhaled. "The gains are still enormous."

Tier Nine human form.

Tier Ten dragon form.

That alone placed him among the peaks of existence.

Ego... truly a generous being.

Then Noah snapped back to reality.

And froze.

The planet was dead.

A vast, desolate wasteland.

Lifeless.

Noah slowly looked around, instinctively.

"What... happened?"

"Well," Peter said carefully, watching him, "when that blue light covered you... all the energy of the planet went into your body."

"And after that," Rocket added flatly, "this place turned into this."

Noah rubbed his forehead.

He looked at Hermione.

She met his gaze and nodded.

That was confirmation enough.

The system had drained Ego completely.

And since Ego was the planet-

This outcome was inevitable.

"...So I wiped out a planet," Noah murmured.

Alternate form of planetary annihilation.

That was new.

He smiled faintly, took Hermione's hand, and turned to the others.

"Problem solved," he said calmly. "What are your plans now?"

"Us?" Peter hesitated. "I don't know. Maybe... just keep going like before?"

"That's not bad," Noah replied.

He snapped his fingers.

Mantis and Drax appeared.

They looked confused-but fell silent the moment they saw Noah.

They had seen what he'd done.

And for Drax, Noah was a benefactor.

Ronan-who had personally destroyed his family-had been erased by Noah's hand.

Even if the true mastermind was Thanos.

Seeing everyone present, Noah spoke evenly.

"I think you'd be better off sticking together."

"The galaxy is vast."

"Some places need help."

"Some places need to be dealt with."

"You mean..." Yondu caught on instantly. "We do that?"

"Exactly," Noah nodded. "Form a team."

"Do good where it's needed."

"Get paid when appropriate."

"Whether from clients-or from me."

At that point, even Peter understood.

The rest had already figured it out.

This wasn't just generosity.

Noah had things he wanted done.

And honestly?

Staying together sounded... right.

"Sir," Gamora spoke first, "is there anything specific you need?"

She watched Noah closely.

To her, he was someone who could truly oppose Thanos.

"Magical materials," Noah said plainly. "The rarer, the better."

"The better the materials, the higher the reward."

"No problem," Gamora nodded. "Where do we find you?"

"Asgard?" someone asked.

"No," Noah replied. "Earth. London."

"I'll know when you arrive."
