"Arrrgh!" Midas snapped awake with a startle. He hurried scanned his surroundings for any sigh of the bear as he sat up straight on the be only to realize that he was in his room.
That's right, this was his room but the last thing he remembered before passing out was almost getting killed by that bear. After blacking out he thought that he was already dead and would go to heaven but he was wrong.
He reached out a hand to touch the spot where the bear claws had cut him, he half expected to wince from the pain only to realize to his shock that his back was completely healed.
'What the hell? My back is healed? how the hell did I get here?'
At his moment of confusion the door to his room cracked open snapping him out of his thoughts.
His heart skipped a beat as he was fully aware that he was alone in the entire kingdom.
Who could it be? He was already prepared to escape out his own bedroom window but what he saw left him speechless.
A female with golden blonde hair that reached her lower back and flawless white skin stepped into the room. She has a golden crown on her head and a golden armlet on her arms. Although her white saint like robes hide her body he could still make out her figure underneath that dress.
While her beauty was that of a goddess what left him completely breathless was the two pairs of wings behind her back.
A winged human? I have never seen or heard of such a thing before. Humans don't have wings.
The females sapphire blue eyes lit up when she laid eyes on Midas.
Midas heart skipped a beat when he saw her looking at him, he started sweating nervously, by some miraculous way he had managed to survive what was supposed to be his death, he doesn't think that he could handle another one.
However what happened next completely blew Midas's mind.
"Master, you are awake?!"
Excuse me, you said what now? Midas looked at the winged lady with a look of suspicion. He wasn't deceived her sparking eyes. What the hell did she mean by master?! He was a Lord who hasn't even summoned his own troops yet so how was he supposed to be her master?
Was she messing with him?
Although she was a beautiful he decided to tell her that messing with people's heart was a really bad thing to do.
However, his words got stuck in his throat when he noticed something that he had unknowing been ignoring before.
He glanced at the tiny almost transparent ethereal blue cord connecting the two of them together.
Wasn't that the soul bond?! He remembered being told about this in school. It was a bond that is shared between a Lord and his troops, which was also like a soul contract.
So it was true. She really was his soldier?! He hurriedly looked into his inventory and noticed that the white feather that had been his only accomplice since he arrived in this world was gone.
Wait what is that? He looked at the rank of his soldier and he felt like his heart was going to explode.
SSS rank?! Is this a dream?! How the hell did it happen! He must still be dreaming right now. How the hell did the feather become an SSS rank soldier.
Only legendary creatures like dragon and Phoenix were known to be able to achieve such a rank. Could she do the same as well?
Midas was having a hard time believing it so he turned to the winged lady that was still looking him with eyes full of reverence and respect and asked.
"Who are you?"
Her smile seemed to brighten when she heard his question as she gave a small bow and replied. "Featherine is what you named me, my lord. I am a Valkyrie that will carry out your will, master."
'Featherine' That was what he named the little white feather when he was nearly driven made from loneliness. He had been calling it that ever since and he would sometimes talk to it to prevent himself from losing his sanity. If there were other around however he would be no different from a madman.
Doesn't that means that she knew everything he every said. No maybe he was just overthinking it, there was no way she could remember everything he said.
Moreover, what's a Valkyrie, he has never heard of such a thing before in his life. He repeated it a few times in his mind so that he won't forget.
"Did you heal me?"
"Yes I did, master. And I did it just the way you've always explained it to me" Featherine replied with a polite smile. However, that careless smile was enough to make Midas heart skip a beat.
Oh no she remembered.
Just as Featherine said, Midas once told the feather that if he was ever injured he would like be healed by a healer, completely undressed as she massages his body with her own.
Was that what she did. Midas didn't dare look her in the eyes for obvious reasons.
He still didn't know how the god troop system worked so he couldn't tell whether she did it out of her own free will or because of his own selfish he desire.
Midas soon decided that it was unimportant and hurriedly opened his interface to check something. And just as he thought he saw that the troop tab that had been grayed out before on his interface was now available for him and under it was the profile of the Valkyrie standing before him.
But apart from that he also noticed a new function that nearly made him cry.
The Regional Forum!
He immediately clicked on the forum and saw thousands of messages flashing before his eyes.
Enrick: Hey, have you guys see the giant rabbit, my troops hunted one down today. I sent pictures of it now.

Justabot: That's nothing, I already saw that three days ago. My troops have outgrown those little monsters, they don't even give out enough exp anymore.
Onlyheretopeek: Wait what level are your troops?
Justabot: Level 30
Enrick/onlyheretopeek: Thirty!
Riversidefish: Looks like you guys haven't heard. The highest rank right now is level 50
Enrick/onlyheretopeek/justabot: what!
Enrick: What are they feeding their troops?!
After browsing through the forums for more than thirty minutes gathering information and reading past messages, Midas closed his interface with a gloomy expression on his face.
Level 50? How did they do it? He looked at level 7 floating above Featherine's head and couldn't help but feel despair. Wait level 7? Wasn't she recently formed? Well it doesn't matter, level 7 or not she can't beat a level 50.
"Are you okay, master?" Featherine asked with a caring tone when she saw the long look on her master's face.
"It's nothing. I was just remembering something" Midas lied through his teeth before giving a self depreciating laugh. While he was still struggling alone in his castle the others had progressed far ahead of him.
Featherine who had been watching her master closely suddenly remember what she came for earlier and said. "Oh that's right. I prepared breakfast. Would master care for a bite?"
"Breakfast?" Midas head snapped up to look at Featherine, it must have been because of all the surprises that he had gotten ever since he woke up but when Featherine mentioned breakfast he was suddenly hit by a wave of hunger.

"Take it easy master, you might choke on your food" Featherine watched with a helpless smile on her face as Midas stuffed his face full of food. The food were made of wild vegetables and meat that tasted so good.
He couldn't tell whether it was because of his hunger or because the food tasted so good but he devour the food like a starved beast.
"Delicious." Midas repeatedly with each spoon he ate.
"How undignified of you master" Featherine who stood beside him sighed when Midas ignored her words and continued eating like a beast.
However, she was happy underneath, the fact that he loved her cooking was a great relief.
Midas sighed and tapped his stomach in satisfaction after devouring the entire food.
That was delicious. But now that he thought about it, where had Featherine gotten the meat.
He remembered having a few vegetables left in store and since Featherine inherited all the memories of when she was a feather it wasn't surprising that she could find the store but the last time he checked there was no meat left in store so where did she get it
Midas turned to Featherine and asked something he should have asked since the very beginning.
"What happened to that bear in the forest? I remembered nearly getting killed by it"
"Oh that silly little bear that hurt master. I killed it"
"YOU WHAT!"
