Waking up in a dark cave was the last thing I expected when I went to sleep last night.
I shot up to look at my surroundings. Observing the rocky dark cavern that I found myself in.
After checking my surroundings and confirming my current safety ,I looked down at myself.
My clothes had various scratches and tears covered in dried blood. No wounds though ,thankfully.
Seeing the state of my clothes and the fact that I was in a teenager's body instead of my usual forty year old body ,startled me for a second.
I also found a long sword equipped to my waist ,inside a sheath that was attached to my belt.
I figured that since I had it ,I might as well use it. So I drew the sword and started slowly advancing through the terrain.
As I shuffled through the dark cavern ,images flashed through my mind. I was slowly recalling the life experience of the body I was in.
My eyes widened as information about gates ,monsters ,and hunters flashed through my mind.
After the images finished registering in my mind ,my head swung to the side towards the sound of footsteps.
In my view was a goblin ,a classic fantasy creature. It's sharp claws at the ready while it tried to approach sneakily.
I held my sword at the ready. In a position to slash with great strength ,I slowly shuffled towards it.
Feeling out the terrain with my feet as I steadily approached it. The moment I arrived within slashing distance ,it launched towards me.
Expecting something like this ,I side stepped a little and slashed straight at its head.
Still mid air ,the goblin was unable to react as it launched its neck into my sword path.
In just a few seconds ,its head rolled away as the body fell dead onto the ground. After killing it ,I felt some kind of energy.
It wasn't Mana ,but a small stream of it flowed into my body. It felt warm and comforting.
I felt slightly stronger than before. It wasn't by much ,but it was a noticeable increase.
My muscle strength increased by at least ten percent and my ability to see that warm energy stayed.
The flow was comforting yet vast. It flowed faintly through the entire cavern as far as I could see.
I lowered my sword and started travelling through the cavern. Following the flow of the energy.
No matter how many paths I found ,this energy continued to flow in one particular direction.
Finding this strange ,I tried investigating it. As I travelled through the caverns ,I felt a dark aura ahead of me.
It seemed weak ,but it was still an uncomfortable feeling emanating from it.
I readied my sword before quietly approaching.
Surprisingly ,it was just a goblin. Except this time I found it first. Still unaware of my presence ,the goblin wandered closer to the mound of stalagmites shielding me.
I jumped out behind it and thrusted my sword straight into its head. I kicked my foot onto its back and withdrew my sword ,allowing the corpse to fall on the ground.
