Chapter 39 - Chapter Thirty - Eight: A Cascade of Chaos (혼란의 파도)

Lee Ji-seo's POV (Point of View)

It's already Midterms, and I can't stop being anxious. I sat up in my bed and stared at the wall in annoyance. "I have been pretending to be asleep for 2 hours, and sleep hasn't met my eyes yet! I have to get ready for school in a few hours, and I can't sleep!" I huffed.

I got up from my bed and went downstairs, "It's not even exam season yet, and this is how I am acting?? Maybe I should drink warm milk."

A few minutes later, I dropped the empty glass cup after finishing the milk in it. "It works in movies, so it will definitely work out for me, right?"

I ran back upstairs and looked at my alarm clock on my nightstand: '1:30 AM'. "Okay, I can squeeze in 6 hours of sleep. Let's hope the milk works," I said before shutting my eyes.

I tossed and turned, "HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE?!" I yelled, then turned to my alarm clock in anger, and it read: 5:50 AM.

I sat up in shock and grabbed my alarm clock. I stared at it in shock, "You mean I have been struggling to go to sleep since that time?? What should I do?" I whined and lay back on my bed.

I sat up again, "I have an idea!" I said before getting up from my bed and rushing to my bookshelf, and I grabbed a science textbook and rushed back to my bed.

"Okay, I've got my bedtime book, time to sleep," I said before setting my alarm for school, then lay back on my bed and opened the textbook.

My alarm blasted through my room, and I shot up from my bed in shock, then glanced at the time: 7:59 AM.

"Fuck! I overslept!" I said in shock and rushed into my bathroom. I quickly brushed my teeth and took a quick shower.

Running out, I put on my uniform and grabbed my phone from the nightstand. I passed my full-length mirror and walked back to it to stare at my reflection.

"I look horrible!" I said in horror, staring at my reflection. "Did I even use my deodorant?" I dropped my things on the floor and rushed to my closet.

I quickly applied my deodorant and body mist spray. I straightened my uniform, then stepped out.

My phone dinged with a message, and I immediately knew who that was.

Chuck:

Where are you? I'm outside.

I groaned at the message and rushed downstairs. I passed my mum, who was pouring a cup of coffee for herself.

"Wait, Ji-seo? You haven't gone to school yet?!" She said in shock, then she accidentally poured the hot coffee on her hand.

I rushed to her, "I overslept. ARE YOU OKAY?!" I yelled, staring at her hand. "I'll be fine, go to school, you're already late." She shooed me away.

I nodded and was about to run out the door, but she yelled my name, "Wait! You haven't had breakfast!"

"I don't have time! See you later!" I yelled back before running out the door. Taemin passed me my helmet, "You look terrible. What happened?"

"I overslept. Now shut up and let's go. We are so late." I adjusted myself on Su-jin; Taemin's motorcycle. Taemin rode us to school, and I hadn't jumped down from a motorcycle before, but this was the first time I had done that.

Taemin stared at me in shock, "Are you trying to get yourself injured?!" "I'll see you inside. Bye." I said before rushing inside.

I ran to my class and saw Ha-ri shaking her leg in panic, probably feeling anxious too. "Ha-ri!" I yelled her name. She sat up when she noticed me.

I rushed to her and sat down in my seat. "You look..." She trailed off, looking at my appearance. I turned to her, "I overslept, or should I say that I underslept because I couldn't get enough sleep last night."

"Yeah, I noticed. You have dark circles under your eyes and, worst of all," she lifted her finger and drew circles around my eyes, "You forgot your glasses too."

My eyes widened in shock, and I lifted my hands to my face and found out I was, in fact, not wearing my glasses. "Oh my God, my glasses!! No wonder everything looks like I have water in my eyes."

I rested my head on my desk and groaned in frustration, "This day is not going to be my day, I can feel it."

"Don't be too pessimistic, Ji-seo," Ha-ri said, patting my head. The teacher walked in with our test papers and handed them to us.

We have two tests to take today, and I'm eager for everything to be over. We have English and Biology tests today.

My test paper got to me, and I let out a breath, 'Okay, Ji-seo. You've got this. It's just Biology, you know this, right?' I said inwardly.

I grabbed my pencil but quickly placed it down, and clasped my hands together, 'Let me just say a quick prayer, cause you never know what evil entity is over you.' I said, shutting my eyes tight.

"Uh, Miss Lee? Not to rush you, but I just want to let you know that you're being timed. So, don't take too long praying," Our teacher said.

Everyone turned to me in curiosity and giggled when they saw me praying. "The questions aren't even difficult, so why is she being overly dramatic?" I heard someone whisper.

"Maybe she didn't study." I heard another whisper. Ha-ri nudged my side, "You'll be fine." I nodded and grabbed my pencil, 'You're just saying that because you don't know the power of my village witches.' I said inwardly.

An hour later, I finished my Biology test and scanned through my answers, over and over again. "You'll be fine. You don't know how crazy you look right now," Ha-ri whispered next to me.

I dropped my answer sheet, "I just have this feeling in my gut that things won't go well today," I whispered. Ha-ri shook her head with a smile.

I let out a huge sigh, then raised my hand, "I'm done." The teacher looked up and nodded, "Okay, come up here and submit your test."

I nodded and stood up from my seat, but I felt weird, 'I don't feel so good.'

Min Taemin's POV (Point Of View)

I heard Ji-seo getting up from her seat, and she passed by me, but I quickly noticed a stain on her skirt. It looked so weird. 'Did she sit on water?'

I quickly grabbed her wrist when I realised what that was, stopping her from moving forward. She turned to me in annoyance, but her face looked pale.

I saw her eyes start to get heavy, and I got up, grabbing her before she hit the floor.

"Oh my God, Ji-seo!" Ha-ri yelled, getting up to meet my side. The teacher rushed to us, "Quick! Take her to the nurse's office."

I nodded and took off my suit and placed it on her lap, then lifted her and took her to the nurse's office, with Ha-ri following behind.
