Chapter 7 - The capture

The creature ran through the streets of Viremont, a streak of greenish yellow behind him. He was fast, so fast that the buildings and people around him were just a blur. He ran out of the city limits and into a nearby grassland, the wind rushing past him.

Meanwhile, Marvel watched the situation unfold on a monitor back in PRISM headquarters. A drone was following the creature, sending video feedback to the PRISM HQ. The creature suddenly stopped running once he reached a lake, and he hesitantly tasted the water. After a moment, he quenched his thirst, his eyes closed in satisfaction.

A few minutes later, squad cars pulled up behind the creature, and multiple PRISM agents filled out. They raised their energy rifles and an agent said, come with us quietly and you don't get hurt.

The creature got back up on his feet, his eyes narrowing. "I don't think so," he said, his voice low and menacing.

His eyes turned green, and in a blur of speed, he started to do all kinds of moves on the agents. He dodged their energy blasts with ease, his speed and agility making him almost untouchable.

"Take him down!" one of the agents shouted, but it was too late. The creature was already upon him, taking him out with ease.

The agents tried to defend themselves, but the creature's speed was too much for them. He dodged their attacks and counterattacked, sending them flying.

"Ahh!" one of the agents cried out as he was sent crashing into a squad car. "He's too fast!"

The creature's speed was incredible, and he covered great distances in a short amount of time. He sent squad cars flying, and the agents were powerless against him.

Just as it seemed like the creature was unstoppable, an attack helicopter arrived on the scene. It pointed its weapons at the creature and started to blast him.

But the creature simply used his speed to slow down time. The bullets came at him in slow motion, and he easily dodged them. He ran and jumped at the helicopter, taking out critical parts.

The helicopter crashed down on the ground in flames, its rotors spinning wildly as it lost control.

Meanwhile, at PRISM HQ, Marvel was watching everything happen through the surveillance drone. She was absolutely furious.

"Release the prototypes," she ordered through the comms.

A few moments later, a few mechanized suits in PRISM HQ came to life. They rocketed off towards Viremont, entering the city's airspace and leaving it as they went into the grasslands and towards the lake.

The creature was uninterested in the suits, having taken out the multiple PRISM agents and the attack helicopter. But out of nowhere, one of the mechanized suit appears from behind as the suit catches the creature off guard and slammed into him, dragging him through the earth and then took him on the air afterwards.

The suits engaged him in aerial combat, their speed and agility matching the creature's. The creature couldn't fully utilize his speed, as his legs were not touching the earth.

The suits were absolutely playing with the creature as they pass him around in the air until eventually one the suit slams him into the group at breakneck speeds, as the creature became exhausted the suits tied up his hands and legs. One of the suit carried him on it's shoulders and rocketed him towards PRISM HQ, their mission accomplished.

Marvel watched on the drone, pleased with the plan. "Michelle, we need to clean up the area," she said, her voice firm. "Send some agents to Viremont. I fear the residents will want to make this public."

A while later, the suits reached PRISM HQ and dropped the captured creature on the ground. Some agents took him towards a cell, passing by other cells as they went.

One of the prisoners, Electro, looked up as they passed. "Well, well, well. Looks like you've got a new plaything," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

The agents ignored him, continuing on their way through the hall. They got to an empty cell and threw the creature in as they lock the cell, securing him tightly.

Meanwhile, back in Astrea's home, she tried on the new suit her parents made. She showcased it to them, pleased with the design and functionality.

But her fun was interrupted when her TV station got interrupted by a news station. The reporter was talking about what had happened in Viremont, the portal opening in the sky and spitting out the creature, the confrontation that happened afterwards, and what ensued outside the city limits.

Astrea's eyes widened as she watched the news. "Maybe I should check it out," she said, her voice thoughtful.

But before she could do anything, two individuals suddenly grabbed the mic from the reporter. They were PRISM agents, and they said that there was nothing to worry about, everything was under control.

The broadcast ended, and Astrea found this suspicious. But she dropped the matter, continuing to spend time with her family.

Meanwhile, Danny headed out of his room, wandering through the halls of PRISM HQ. He passed by a cell, but this cell seemed to be more secured than the others he had seen.

And in there, he saw the creature. The creature's eyes locked onto Danny, and he rushed towards the cell door. Danny's heart skipped a beat as the creature's eyes seemed to bore into his soul.

"You're...you're one of them," the creature growled, his voice menacing.

Danny took a step back, his heart racing. He didn't know what to do, so he turned around and quickly walked away from the cell.

Meanwhile, the world was buzzing again. Everyone was talking about what had happened in Viremont, and some individuals were questioning why the Protectors didn't show up. Why did PRISM have to clean up the mess?

Michelle noticed the trend online and came to Marvel, showing her the reactions of the public. Marvel's expression was grim.

"Well, I don't think we can keep the Protectors' deaths quiet anymore," she said, her voice firm. "We have to tell the public."

The news would spread like wildfire, and Marvel knew that it would be a difficult conversation to have. But she was prepared to face the music, knowing that it was the right thing to do.
