A week later, after a long night lecture by Li Yu, the three girls headed towards the entrance of the manor where their parents were awaiting their arrival and eventual departure
Upon heading there, they were greeted with at least 15 guards on their knees dressed in armor with the Li family crest, the silver griffon, on their breastplate. The sight of 14 guards with a bronze crest and 1 with a silver crest on their knees was quite an unnerving sight.
This unnerved Li Ru even more because
'I thought our family was declining. Well… so much for being as stealthy and low-key as possible. That plan is out the window'
But seeing the smug smile on her father's face told her that he had pulled some strings with the family's elders for their sake. While she felt it to be a bit much as they were hopefully only staying on the outskirts of the ruins as it is mostly safe, she could still appreciate their effort towards their safety.
"Shall we? I guess"
"This is captain Shen. He and his squad shall be your escorts" said li Luo
"Take care." Li Yu couldn't help but shout out as they were leaving
"Yeah… you too" Li Ru shouted back
"HEAD OUT… goodbye your majesties." Captain Shen commanded then quickly quipped in as they went into formation and followed after the carriage with two of the guards climbing the front of the carriage, two at the back and the rest surrounding it on horses.
As li Ru leaned into her seat, she noticed the raised eyebrow of ao ning.
"What!!!"
"You seem to be enjoying your new life"
"Was I wrong to enjoy it?"
"No… you are just extremely lucky to not have that bitch as your mum"
Laughing heartily at this, the mood opened up as they talked till they could talk no more which was practically never as they were still conversing as they descended the stairs of the carriage and headed towards the gateway portal into one of the ruins.
They noticed it was packed and filled with people of all types from knights to warriors to mages all wanting to enter for the riches and opportunities the ruins may hold. Despite the vast amount of people, all of them seemed to be giving them passage through their center. Their entourage was very attention-grabbing. They basically felt like princesses
Entering the ruins portal, their environment began to instantaneously change into a forest with towering tall trees and dense foliage. This was where their search will truly begin. If they knew exactly where to search.
All they knew was that in the distance, somewhere in the mountains, there was a legacy buried within. Now they can see the mountain but it is quite a distance away and the biggest issue of the mountain was that it was so huge they felt like crying. If only they had paid more attention to the book.
They then resumed their journey nonetheless for the legacies.
In another part of the ruins.
On a branch of the trees.
Asura had just woken up having sensed the arrival of new people. Deciding he is bored, he decided to go check it out.
Back with the girls, they had begun walking towards the mountains pretty uneventfully and had just finished hoping to finish just as well when a scream was heard from within their ranks followed by a mauling sound then a swish sword cutting sound. A rank 2 sabre toothed tiger along with 8 other rank 1 tigers and 6 rank 0 tigers had ambushed and circled them. One of the rank 1 had killed a soldier and was eating him before he got killed by the captain himself. Despite his swift action, the life of the soldier could not be saved and he had already forfeited

Apparently, the huge number of soldiers had attracted a huge pack of predators.
"Surround the maidens. Protect them"
The remaining soldiers immediately jumped into action. They formed a wall around the girls and had drawn their swords from their sheaths.
