The scenery for the four girls switched from a cave to a magnificent and beautiful white room with treasures piled all around and 5 pedestals with which five books were placed upon. The books each all seeming to radiate power and potential beyond their wildest dreams.
"beautiful"
One of them exclaimed making the others shocked. The reason was that it was meng who said those words.
"you can talk?"
Ao ning exclaimed in shock
"I can understand you!" Meng exclaimed in surprise
"is this a characteristics of the chamber?" Li xing thought aloud
"that is the only explanation" Li ru replied
"i am meng. Nice to meet you"
"li ru. Nice to meet you too"
"I'm ao ning. likewise"
"li xing"
"this is actually quite a nice feeling to… you know… be able to talk like this"
"yeah" ao ning enthusiastically replied
"so where exactly are we? One second, we were in a smelly, wet and dark cave and the next second, we were in this beautiful place and I can't see asura from here." meng questioned
"don't worry. We are just here to get stronger. He is still there"
"Okay… I guess"
"hey… if it isn't a problem, can you tell me how you knew your own names since well… you couldn't exactly talk before" li xing asked.
This question had been repeatedly asked back in their world to the author but he always seemed to elude or dodge the question and when he was cornered, he straightforwardly admitted it to be an oversight. She wanted to see and test a theory of hers.
"oh… it was what the other people called us. Why they called us that… we have no idea and since we never needed to call each-other by our names nor did we care about it, we had not bothered to change it"
"Oh… makes sense"
With this feedback reply, she went into thought.
' the fact that there is an actual reason behind the placement of their names although vague as it is shows that this world while working still on the general outline of the story had some plot-holes filled with actual plotlines. It feels like the general direction this world was supposed to go is already set in stone. By interfering, we are essentially challenging fate and the world. We need to be more careful.'
She then looked towards the remaining girls and after seeing ao ning in contemplation and li ru nodding in confirmation, she realized that they had reached the same or at least similar conclusion as herself.
"so how long have you known asura for?" li ru asked meng
"for as long as I can remember"
This was as the story was set and they could remember. In all honesty, when meng was introduced as asura's companion, she was the one people placed bets on as the most likely to be asura's mate but in a classic twist, she sacrifices herself to save asura from a dreadful curse in a trap during the time asura decided to follow his mate, yu ling, who had entered for exploration purposes. Despite her sacrifice, asura still weak from the mental, physical and emotional turmoil place on him was still caught shortly after and was enslaved by a travelling slave merchant before being bought by yu ling. Yu ling and asura did also get separated during an exploration trip to the mountains before he was saved and trained by a lost li luo who just had his family broken apart.
Breaking them out of their reverie, meng poised a question
"how long have you known each other for?"
"not quite sure" li ru
"yeah… it's too long to say" li xing followed after
"we might as well just be biological sisters at this point" ao ning laughed it off
