"Your life is more dramatic than any drama I've ever watched," Sun Lili said, letting out a low whistle as she stared at the photograph on Shen Yelan's laptop screen.
Shen Yelan did not even have to explain anything for her to realize what was happening.
Sun Lili looked up from the screen to where Shen Yelan sat at her dressing table and was going through her nightly skincare routine.
"So, what are you planning to do, boss?" She asked. "Is there any chance you'd actually acknowledge the Mo family?"
The reason why Sun Lili asked this question was that she knew Shen Yelan well enough to understand that family bonds meant almost nothing to her. The only thing Shen Yelan had ever cared about was loyalty and trust. Just because you shared blood did not make you able to trust that person.
Sun Lili had learned that the hard way when she was betrayed by her family. She did not know much about Shen Yelan's history, but she knew that Shen Yelan did not trust people easily.
"Why would I do that?" Shen Yelan's response was exactly what Sun Lili had expected.
"I know that you had no interest in finding your biological family, but don't forget it's the Mo family we are talking about," Sun Lili pointed out. "Based on Mo Jingrui's behaviour, he seemed to already know about this and doesn't look like he's planning to just let this go. Though I don't know if it's because he actually cares about you or if there's some other reason for his interest."
Shen Yelan didn't respond immediately. She knew Sun Lili was right. Based on Mo Jingrui's actions towards her, she knew it wouldn't be long before he would appear before her to take her away. As for whether it was because he was just curious after suddenly having a sister or he genuinely cared about her, she could not be sure.
Shen Yelan rested her chin on her palm and had a distant look on her face. Sun Lili knew she was thinking, so she did not bother her.
"Say, if Shen Chengwei suddenly throws me out after finding out I'm not related to him... what do you think the Mo family's reaction would be?" she suddenly asked out loud.
"There are possibly two scenarios. Number one, the Mo family would not care at all. Or two, they might ruin the Shen family. I am hoping for the second scenario, though. I really want to see the handsome CEO burning the whole world just for his sister," she said the last part with a dreamy look on her face, as if she were already imagining the scene.
Shen Yelan shook her head and decided to ignore this drama fanatic. She was just glad she had not shown the Mo family portrait to her. If Sun Lili found out she was possibly related to a celebrity, she'd probably tie her up with a pink ribbon and personally deliver her to the Mo family residence like a gift package.
But in a way, Shen Yelan was also hoping for the second option. If someone was willing to burn her enemies to the ground without her having to lift a finger, she'd gladly accept their service. There was nothing better in this world than a free meal.
"Alright, I have decided..."

Three days later.
Shen Wanwan had just returned from school when she realized the atmosphere at home was strange. Well, it has been strange ever since her father was demoted from his position of CEO, but today, there was certainly something else that was going on. The staff seemed to be extra careful and were avoiding going to the main hall, from where she could hear her father's loud voices.
"...want her out of my house!"
"Honey, please calm down. Let's talk about this rationally-"
"Are you hearing yourself? You expect me to calm down after all of this!?"
Shen Wanwan shared a look with Shen Wei, wondering who had set off the bomb this time.
They made their way to the main hall entrance and peered inside. Shen Chengwei was pacing back and forth. Feng Xin was trying to calm him down, but she clearly looked happy for some reason. Even Shen Meli was present with an expression of genuine disbelief on her face.
"All these years, I was forced to raise a bastard child that isn't even mine!" Shen Chengwei's eyes were blood red and his whole body trembled with anger.
