CHAPTER 24
ALEXIA P. O. V
I have been cooped up in the room all day just staring at the window since even sleep avoided me now
*Sighs* Did l made him angry?, Maybe l shouldn't have been so rude after all he saved me, l shook my head whatever he deserved it l'm not a child that should be scold at.... But what if he only scolded me because he cares?.... No that's impossible, the almighty Asher Slade known to be ruthless and cold why would he care for me but if that is the case what l'm l doing here? Sitting down here wasn't going to answer any of my questions so l got up and headed to his office
"What are you doing up?, I have been instructed to let you have all the rest you need" that girl which l later found out her name was maddy blocked my way
"Well l rested enough I want to have a talk with your Boss, is there a problem with that?" I looked at her intimidating, I wasn't going to be kept here like some exotic animal
"Well.... I...l was just following oder" she looked down and stammered
*Sighs*
I put my hands on her shoulders
"Which you should, l hold no grudge against that but I can't stay here anymore, understand?"
She slowly nodded
"Great"
I hurriedly rushed out and walked around a little bit
"Hmm this seems to be another swing of the house" I muttered since it was different from the last time I was here.
In my rush to leave l totally forgot to ask that girl for directions and now l'm lost in this castle like mansion. I kept on turning on different hallways till l kinda felt dizzy but thankfully after turning again l bumped into Allen
"Woah there, my lady, why the rush?" He asked
"Erm... Nothing l kinda lost my way while delivering something here"
"If l'm not mistaken aren't you some CEO? Or something of the sort when did you become a delivery girl? And also who delivers in a hospital garment?" He asked
"Arrgh, you asked too many questions for your own good Allen, you know that?"
He smirked "only the necessary ones, now tell me what are you up to?"
I nervously smiled" nothing, infact I will be on my way now, nice chitchat though" I walked pass him
"My brother office is that way" he pointed in the opposite direction of where l was headed to
"* Clears throat* I knew that but wait how did you know that?"
He smirked and patted my head
"You asked too many questions for your good Alexia" and with that walked away
I went in the direction of Asher office but just as l was about to open the door l stopped ' what if he's still angry?, I shouldn't make it worse ' so l turned around and headed back to my room
"Miss you are still here?" Maddy said
I quietly nodded and went under the covers staring out the window
"Erm... Miss? Is time to change the bandages" she moved to make arranges to remove bandage
"No thank you, l can do it myself" I said softly
She nodded and went out
I went to the bathroom and removed the bandages and as l expected it was completely healed like l never ever had a big bash there in the first place but l still quietly wrapped my head with a new bandage, took a shower l went to bed but l was restless
"I wonder how Nadia is holding up"
We have a big project coming up and l wasn't there to overlook things and make sure everything was in order but now l can't leave leaving the whole workload for Nadia
After turning around in the bed, l finally went to the balcony, the cool breeze passing through my hair instantly made me felt calm
"My birthday is in a few days Grandpa, is been two years now" I whispered
"Even though you said it wasn't my fault l still feel like it is and even though l have said it so many times l still want to say it"
"I'm sorry"
A single tear fell down my cheeks.
I stood there for so long thinking when something caught my eye, it was creature l think it was.... A wolf? But it quickly disappeared into the bushes Asher house was connected to seaside, the wing l was connected to the forest, l looked down and calculating the distance from where l was standing and down wasn't so far off so l made way to jump
"Clara's going to kill me if she sees me jumping again" I thought
But l landed well so l made my way to the bushes, I heard rustling sounds once in it l looked around but nothing so l made my way deeper
"Where are you?" I quietly whispered
Then suddenly a particular place in the bushes were rustling non stop at then l realized I was inside a forest pursuing what could be the very end of my entire existence but l stood rooted but very scared but then a cute little kitten came out
I let out a heavy sigh of relief but kinda disappointed
"Hi, what are you doing here all alone" I petted it but suddenly it ran away
"Ohhh and here l was thinking of adopting you" I pouted
What a fruitfuless night and angrily turned around to see the most majestic creature l have ever seen but also very scary l could feel the hair on my back stand on end as the creature barred it's perfectly scary white teeths and growled but no matter how my rational side of my head was telling me to run, a little part wanted to stay
The creature was snarling at me looking at it closely it was a wolf but l have never seen one as big as this before and it's eyes where exactly like Asher's but more brighter instead of me repelling away from it l was rather drawn to it. I reached out my hand to him and took a step closer, it didn't bite me as l imagine but brought his face closer to my hand and l gently stroke it
"You are very beautiful" I commented and he grunted in response
For some reasons l was all giddy on this inside lost in my own world l continue stroking it's beautiful fur but it suddenly retracted and ran away
' why is everything running from me today' I grumbled on the inside but l was already feeling sleepy so l went back.
