CHAPTER 28
ALEXIA P. O. V
The doorbell rang l wasn't in any mood to host anyone so I didn't answer in hopes the person would go away but the persistence was unbearable so l unwilling opened the door.
"Yes?" I answered impatiently
"Hey" l slammed the door
' how dare he!! ' there's was no way l'm gonna answer that but the next minute the door click open itself
" AHH l forgot l gave him the key"
"Come on Alexia, l'm sorry"
"What now,they kicked you out of the club or you have nowhere to stay cause your house is being spy on?"
"No Well maybe my house is indeed being spy on but l actually came to apologize"
I raised a brow " alright go on, explain why you abandoned me at the race track or the fact you were nowhere to be seen after my accident and you never bother to check up on me, explain all that Tyler!"
"Um that last part isn't exactly true l did check up on you but that bastard wouldn't let me see you"
"Seriously Tyler that's the best you can come with?"
He scratches his head "l know but l did really check on you but I had some things to tend that wasn't safe that was the reason l left you with him at all"
*Scoff* " and what was so important that you left me"
"I can't say it" he avoided my gaze
"You never hide anything from me, Tyler tell what's wrong?, Before the race track you were already behaving weird"
"It's just some things l'm dealing with right now nothing worth saying"
"Is that so?"
He kept quiet
My heart tore to pieces at the thought of my best friend keeping things from me l didn't want want to push him but at the same time l see myself withdrawing from him not sure if l can trust him anymore but l said nothing
"Fine make yourself comfortable then, you can take the usual room" I retreated to my office but he held my hand
"Alexia l promise l will tell you everything when it safe but l really can't say anything now"
This was the first time l was seeing Tyler like this so l decided to trust him
I nodded
"You hungry?" I asked
"Yes please" he jumped on the couch
*30 minutes later*
"Hey, l'm going back to work, you deal with dishes"
"I don't know how to do the dishes" he whined
"Too bad"
My phone rang and it was Clara
"Hi wassup"
"I'm not fine Alexia, l'm doomed"
"What why what happened?"
"I have been told to work unless my credit cards won't work" she whined
"You know that actually doesn't sound so bad you are pretty jobless"
"Alexia! I called you comfort not for more scolding"
"Ok ok l'm sorry why don't you tell them you don't wanna work ?"
"I tried but they won't listen"
"Well have you tried....
"Hey Alexia is this normal?" Tyler interrupted
"Erm hold on a sec" I looked over at him to see him pouring way more soap on the dishwasher and was about to start
"No no Tyler wait don't press that yet arrgh" too late cause my kitchen had turn to bubbly snow carnival even Snowy had to run from there, l quickly went over there with my phone in my hands totally forgetting l was still on a call
"What the hell Tyler?"
"How was l suppose to know that too much of this" he pointed to now empty bottle of soap "will cause this mess"
"So you mean to tell me you have never used a dishwasher before?" I screamed
"No, should l"
"I'm gonna.....
"Shhhh" he put a finger over my mouth
"What" I whispered
"Nothing, you look cute when you are angry, sweet cheeks" he smirked
That's it l picked the nearest thing which turn out to be a plate and flung it to his direction but he dodge ending up on the wall
"Alexia baby calm down"
"Don't you dare tell me to calm down"
"Ohhh Alexia, you busy" Clara said
That split second of distraction caused Tyler to tackle me down
"Get off me right now" I yelled
"Not after you calm down"
"Alexia ?!"
"Call you back Clara" I ended the call and twisted Tyler's arm
"Arrgh ok ok l'm sorry, l'll clean the mess"
"You better"
I went back to my office but soon l started feeling dizzy
"Must be the medicine at Asher's house"
I yawned
"Hey Tyl l'm going to bed"
He was mopping the floor grumbling
"Yeah whatever"
"Goodnight to you too"
30 minutes into my sleep l could hear commotion from the door so intense l had to check it out. Imagine my shock when l saw Asher and Tyler bickering at the door
"Asher?!" I said unbelievably
"Good job, now she's awake" Tyler told Asher
"What are you doing here" I asked
"What is he doing here?" He pointed to Tyler
"Who Tyler?"I asked
Why the heck would he want to know about Tyler?
"Why do you wanna to know?"I sneered
He glared at me and then took my arm
"Hey not so fast" Tyler held my other arm
If was like an invisible glare war was going on between them and somehow l was in the middle it. So I dragged both of my arms away and stared at Tyler
"Tyl, is fine l'll be back"
"I don't trust him, Alexia" Tyler scowled
"It just gonna be a little talk"
"Fine"he told Asher and walked inside
And Asher just scoffed and walked away while I trailed behind me but he suddenly stopped and turn to glare daggers at me,l gulped l suddenly felt so cold
"Who is he?"
"Why has Tyler suddenly become of interest to you?" I countered
"Alexia l'll ask again who is he?" He asked menacing
"A friend"
"What do you think am l? A 6 year old?, Friends don't call each other sweet nicknames and friends are definitely not intimate like both of you"
"What are you even talking about?"
Intimate? I have never seen Tyler as more than a friend and l'm pretty sure he thinks so too
"Don't play coil with me, Alexia he's a dangerous man, you shouldn't be with him"
"You think l don't know that? Tyler is my friend and he will never do any harm to me"
"Why are you even here Asher? l'm not a child you came to my house in the middle of the night for what? To question me about my friend staying over, not even to..... You know what? what forget it"
" Your right" he said
"I shouldn't have come here, l'm sorry for disturbing your peace Miss Williams" and he turned and walked away
I watched him as he disappeared into the car before I finally went inside
"Why do l feel bad? Obviously l'm not the one in the wrong" but I still couldn't help but feel like l should have said something. I walked depressed into my house but as l was about to open door, l heard the same sonic Sound from the race that day, l crouch down and cover my ears as l scream, my eyes dilated all over the place trying to see what was producing that noise
"Alexia!!" I heard Tyler yell before l passed out
I groaned as someone raised up the curtains
"Rise and shine baby girl" I heard Tyler said
"Uhm what's going on?"
I sat up my eyes adjusting to the brightness
"I made you breakfast" he set the tray unto my lap
I looked at the food suspiciously then back at Tyler
"Since when do you know how to cook?" I eyes him
"Since when my bestie fell into a deep slumber and there's was no one to cook besides l'm not that all useless" he grinned
"Ohhh, thank you?" I said unsure
"Your welcome" he smiled then he just stared at me
"Why are looking at me like that"
"Just waiting for your first reaction when you taste my food, this moment is hard to come by"
I raised a brow, now l'm really suspecting this food, he waited expectedly. I was about to put in my mouth when l dropped the spoon
"What what happened?"
"I hate it when l'm being stared at and there's no water, do you want me to choke? Is this how much you dislike me?"I feign an heartbreak
"Fine l'll get you your water don't have to be a drama queen" he grumbled
Immediately he left the room, l quickly sniffed the food
"Smells okay" I thought, So l took a bite
"Hmmm is not so bad" I mumbled
"So how's it on a scale of 1-10" he came in with a glass of water

"7!! What happened to remaining 3"
"I just don't want to give you all the credit so your head won't be so big" I teased
"Monster"
"Look in a mirror"
We both chuckled
"How're you feeling?"
"Much better" I said enjoying the food
"What happened?, I hope it isn't that jerk or else I...."
"It isn't him, it was just a unbearable headache" I lied on that last part
He stared at me for a long time before he sigh
"If you say so, l got some couple of things to handle, see you" he said
"See you" I nodded.
The morning routine went on and l was about to leave with l pass by my kitchen it was in mess No scratch that it was in Chaos with half of the kitchen nearly burnt down, sauces on the wall, things out of place
"I knew that food was too good to true" no wonder he ran away
I contain my anger and left the house if not I would drive up to Tyler house and destroy it but I don't have time for that.
"Good morning Miss"
"Morning Nadia, so fill me in"
"Well, first and foremost your attention is needed in the laboratory as they are taking the necessary test "
I nodded then made my way to the laboratory
"Good morning Miss" the head of the research team greeted and I nodded in response
"Please take a seat" he gestured and l did
"Begin"
"Before us, is a machine encrypted with over 100 different frequencies, by putting the right data into this machine it can help drive your car, set your TV ,clean ,and the other basic things but what is special about this machine is that it can connect with a human frequency in the brain thereby you can just think of what you want to do and this machine will copy it and do it for you.
"Everything?" I asked
"Yes"
"If so what if it falls in the wrong hands, from what you said this machine can basically do everything so therefore it can also be used as a weapon" I said
"I didn't think of it"
"Don't get me wrong,l like it but l'm also concerned about the safety of people, isn't there a way to make it more environment friendly"
"There might be a way but that could take days of research"
"Do it" I said firmly
"And before it is properly created, l want it to remain a secret and the machine be kept away from public eye"
"Of course"
I went back to my office and dealt with other necessary stuff
